It's real shame Wendy wild Died so young also.....I use to hang out with her down at the NPt village park......That was many Moons ago.........Seems like a hundred years to Me now............
I am glad that this exist from John's attempt's. He really did seem to work very hard to get out in the public eye.
Did John die from Aids, or suicide? I hear two different stories. Either way he was so young. I met him two times in Atlanta. He was a very nice and very funny person!
The song's pretty catchy and parts of the video aren't completely homo. Some decent blue screen work. Could've been mainstream if not for pushing the homo thing so much.
In response to Duncansdav, everybody at on that scene wanted to hit the big time. But few people could actually wake up early enough after a night's partying to actually accomplish anything other than brunch. To my recollection John was never ridiculed. He was much loved and respected by everyone I knew.
I used to hang out at the Pyramid during his "peak" - those were fun years - but he was kind of ridiculed in the East Village for selling out and trying to go commercial. But like so many other icons he couldn't adapt - and he was all but forgotten before he died. I think that's Wendy Wild in this video too - is she still alive? She had cancer or something.

If my children will ever ask me, "Dad, what were the 80s like?" and I had only four minutes to answer, I'd show them this video.

It was always fun! Never serious! ever. I'm in the video and I'm alive. John passed, 1990, Wendy in 1996. Everyone else present.

I hope someone posts John Sex's "Hustle With My Muscle" on here. It's one of my all-time favorite videos.

This video was never "serious". It was a rhythmic comment on the overblown videos of the time.

Everyone needs to understand John Sex was part of the East Village movement of the 80's. RIP John
