That's a great tip, but I'm curious. Did you just watch this vid where he uses a quarter to open the cap, and then suggest that he use a quarter to open it? Just wondering.
@crookedtool No.... some bottle openers won't marr or bend/dent the cap, but using a quarter on top of the cap in junction with a bottle opener will very much so help preserve the cap.

I picked up a single of this and I didn't notice the bottle says "Best By: 07/03/09" (today is 12/12/2009) I'm going to have to have some words with my beer man. That said, this is one of the best american brewed porters I've had. 4+ months past the best by date and it's still great. It has a small note of hops, but for an american brewed poter I have to give it 2 thumbs up. I would buy this again. Lots of porter flavor which is what I like, with just a hint of hops.

I can't enjoy it on a beer lover's level but I actually liked it. It wasn't overwhelming and there was a bit of coffee flavor I enjoyed. Glad I found your vid so I can find other beer recommendations. Rogue is one I've been interested in so maybe I'll try that next.
Black Butte is my go to beer...the one I will always have by my side when in doubt. I'm glad you thought it favorable, but your review had nothing to it in terms of character quality. Viewers want to know more than just the fact that the aroma is malty and hoppy, and there's a smoky aftertaste. Flesh out your reviews! And good luck to you my friend. Keep on truckin'. Cheers!

meh...i like black butte but i feel like at least in the NW...im from the oly/tacoma area...but i feel that deschutes as a whole is just everywhere and not unique at all, hell now that i think about it i gotta give them props!

I had this one on tap at the Fox and Hound saloon in Dallas a few weeks back. Really liked it. Here are a few beers for your list. Sierra nevada porter and stout. Milk stout by left hand brewery.......good vids man!

Joe D.. man you have to pick up some Chimay special reserve the blue bottle... it will be the best beer youve had in a long time but it is about 11.00 for 1pint 9 ounces... but its a jaw dropper.

Hey i like your beer reviews. If you are into saving caps, put a quarter on top of your cap, then use a bottle opener. It will save your cap. Cheers.
