It won two Best of E3 awards from IGN. It got major praise from several(By several I mean about 20 different) media outlets(The ones that deal with game's of course). Sonic Colors ALSO won two awards for Best of E3 from IGN. Zelda Skyward Sword didn't even get a MENTION on the Best of E3 list. Sonic Colors also has been deemed by many better than Sonic 4, and Sonic 4 is already a very good game.
