Awesome lures...thorn lure seems perfect for trout. I wondered about the strength and reliability of the grapevine stays, but I must admit, it is pretty tough stuff as long as it's not too dry or old. Just so long as I have my glasses with me to be able to see to craft such little stuff!

How is this hook supposed to withstand a fish mouth? It would seem the grape element or the hook would break as soon as a fish hit occurs?

Damit that was great stuff. Q&A time... What plant material did you choose for the line? What about gut? Lean critters offer great guts, ie catgut. Was it common practice for natives to use a tackle container such as yours? Would you say lures were a common EDC for natives? It's funny to think that the equipment used would actually require the fisherman to have skill and less tackle, you agree?

you've got some awesome knowledge and ideas but i'd really like to see the primitive fishing gear in use. A lot of this stuff is great in theory but falls apart under actual use. It would be cool if you could dispel this by showing actual use and catches. keep up the great videos.....thanks for sharing
