oh come on people! this isn't THAT abstract or odd. she is a singer, and she's explaining how she learned from her family that you can convey and exploit certain emotions to and from others just by the tone of the notes. like how the quality of a song sounds "sad" or "happy", there isn't a certain "happy" note on the sheet music, is the tone and way certain notes are song that make it that way.

I'm not even a fan of hers and even I think this is a pretty good way of explaining it.

Celine talks in fragments...like many people (of the English language). She's very fluent in English...it has nothing to do with language barriers. What Celine is talking about for those who seem not to comprehend, is that she received from the time she was able to remember anything relatively cogent, that when her family members (she comes from a houseful of singers) sang the names of her siblings to her, the notes she heard made her react in a palpable fashion as to her emotions, thus today she is able to add to wonderfully beautiful music, a voice that quite simply makes it even more lovely, and causes emotive reaction from listeners!
