  • Definitely love the wisdom that are coming out from these amazing and inspirational people. Would really love to see this documentary soon!

  • Good vibes

  • James 3:17

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

  • The opinion that "it's just a bunch of famous people uttering age old cliches" to only pick two to highlight my point;

Nelson Mandela is not just some famous person.

Madeleine Albright is not just some famous person.

Actually read the book, these are people have challenged and changed the world by excelling within their fields. From the entertainers right the way through to the iconic political figures that have sacrificed great parts of their being for humanitarian progress.

  • Inspiring! Love! xxx <3

  • I miss the statement of HH the Dalai lama : ) Wisdom is "he" and to get to know who you are to better serve this world

  • Comments on this vid show people don't read that much. If people read more, they would see this vid for what it is - a bunch of famous people uttering age-old clichés.

  • LOVE IT

  • Great use of lighting and a natural cut and flow using a white background! I wonder what lighting kit was used to bring a vivid scene?

  • Madeleine Albright's Wisdom 60 Minutes (5/12/96) 'We Think the Price Is Worth It' Media uncurious about Iraq policy's effects - there or here Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?" Secretary of State 1996 Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price.... we think the price is worth it" WISDOM! GIVE US A BREAK.... she

  • more than 60,000 people need to see this. along with "will's wisdom" and other amazing and inspiring videos on you tube.

  • I do like the video and do appreciate the experiences and comments expressed. However, I am troubled that all participants are probably in the 45+ category and the only person from the East was Ravi Shankar (who had the shortest comment).

  • @kenleyneufeld , im 22, and i find this video incredibly moving. I understand that our current way of living is destructive and thats why it will be up to this generation to try change our current path. I dont believe we are up to the task... morbid i know.

  • @kenleyneufeld well the reason everyone is 45+ is because this is supposed to be about the wisdom of our elders which is something American society seems to forget. Don't really respect our elders or their wisdom. But for real about few eastern thinkers. The book probably has more by Ravi.

  • Wisdom will come to fruition once we get past the matrix of averageness that's given to us.We must relearn each of our actions, learn to ask better questions, demand better upbringing.( e.g. How come the brilliant quite silent organisation of the body & the way we act and changed the world so ruthlessly are both very real, but don't seem to fit ? Are we pushed towards the latter ? ) Egyptians said ''The heart is the seat of wisdom'' .Wisdom is leaving the debating modus behind.Live & learn you all.

  • Wisdom does not come about through the mere accumulation of knowledge, neither does it accrue through experience. It emerges when deep knowledge and profound experiences are combined together by a process of reflective thinking. Higher level wisdom about the general truths of life are distilled out of knowledge, experiences and reflections of generations. Such wisdom gives meaning to life, and shows the way to live a good life, to be a good person and to create a good society.

  • Good work in getting the least philosophical people in the world all together. More like the love of money and power over others.

  • The fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom

  • I like the words that Andrew Wyeth said. I think his face is beautiful, and his all wrinkles have life story. I don't need definition of wisdom, but I want to see the strength of human.

  • There was in fact a wide cross-section of people who have "achieved", chosen for the film and book. Juxtaposing the term "celebrity" and "intellectual" doesn't make sense as an arguement here. Zuckerman and team chose who they felt represented their vision of the piece. The people chosen come from many focuses of life & backgrounds What does"celebrity" mean anyway? It occurs as fruitless to generate negative criticism's of a piece when one's criticism isn't fully informed.

  • I could care less about what celebrities view on wisdom is. What makes their words more "wise" than anybody else's? Just because they can act or sing? Why don't you give me some "intellectuals" view on wisdom. Then maybe this video and your book wouldn't be a total waste of time.

  • @ColoradoState76

Look at the names genius, while I agree that being a celebrity doesn't make their opinion any better, some have actually changed the world for the better.

  • @ColoradoState76

read a few excerpts from the book. their insight is amazing. celebrity or not...with age comes wisdom.

  • @ColoradoState76

    pretentious

  • Andrew,

I think the video is great, very well done. But I wonder at the fact you didn't keep your subjects on track, most do not answer your question.

I like socrates' answer to the news of being named Greece's wisest man by the oracle at Adelphi: "The oracle is right, I am the wisest man in Greece because I am the only one who knows he knows nothing...

  • Too bad Rush Limbaugh wasn't asked to contribute a few words.

  • Wisdom is knowing God.

  • So then the great atheists in the history of humankind did not have wisdom?

Since nobody personally knows God (some people only think they do), are we all without wisdom?

  • is this what you get when you buy the book?

  • wow... it makes me wonder

  • Beautiful. Moving. So glad I stumbled upon this little gem, thank you.

  • i think the music is really pathetic. i like the film, but it is destroyed by just the same crap music you hear everywhere...

  • its background music, what the hell did you want? Metallica?

  • what are you talking about?

  • @rixeaun agreed. First viewing, 1/2way in I noticed how crappy the music was. Considering the music is secondary and not necessarily needed, if they were going to use this music then they should have done away with it altogether.

  • Comment removed

  • @rixeaun I haven't researched it but if they paid each of these notable people for their money and time the least they could do to honor them is put slightly more moving, or maybe more appropriate music into it. Nothing too distracting mind you, but something that compliments it better than this. Music choice aside, it looks to be a great film.

  • ghuuuiuu uu

  • This book and the concept of the book is truly something. I doing a research thesis on this topic.

I am finding it an incredible question. It has power and possibility.

Good on, Andrew Zuckerman and Edmond Tutu for all their work.

And everyone else, spread the word!
