  • So if your RAMS notches are off you simply cant use it???

  • Thanks, this video was helpful with the installing and removing of RAM.

  • I have 8gb ram and only 3.96gb is usable. How do I fix this?

  • @DJRodneyTD you probably have 32bit windows, get 64 bit

  • @michael2snipe I do have 64bit windows 7. I already figured out the problem. One of my RAM sticks was dead. I had to test each one individually. The bad one obviously made my computer beep at start up, and wouldn't boot.

  • Thanks so much for this video. My students found it very easy to follow.

  • you suck dude learn how to ccrass ? :S

  • When I told my schoolmates about installing some ram in the near future, my friend was stating that I have to use anti-static gloves for placing them. That's bullsh*t right?

  • what happened if i install the ram when the computer's power switched on?,and i have upgraded for a second ram and the computer won't boot and i hear a small clicking sound plz help

  • Thanks! I just installed some RAM! Thanks for sharing!

THUMBS UP FOR IT BEING EASY!!

  • The motherboard looks like a little city....

  • I love you dude! thanks for the help XD

  • great vdo.. SDRAM

  • K, I just upgraded the ram in my pc from 1gb to 2gb (not much ram lol) but I'm not noticing much of a speed improvement. My computer recognizes 2gb of ram. My bios reads 2095104kb for extended memory. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is 1gb not that much of a speed improvement?

  • is it safe to touch the the RAM on the PCB style surface or the black dies on the side

  • This video is WAS VERY EDUCATIONAL, ....and I...uk...I...LOOOOOOOVEEE..IT!!!!!

  • this probably sounds stupid...but i know very little about computers...

I ordered memory recently for my old 256 mb ram computer...which is compatible, and now i am on 700+...my question is, can i remove the 256mb that are there, and put another 512 in?

  • @c64c64c64 is there memory on that ram, that i can't remove in other words?

  • @c64c64c64 i would say try it, you can always just put the old one back(im not sure it will work just saying i think it would)

  • yes but remeber be safe use anti-static

  • what i want to ask is that is there any problem if i upgrade DDR2 RAM for my computer if i have actually installed DDR RAM in my computer please send me a reply (my intention is to upgrade 2GB of DDR2 RAM for my computer but i don't know what to do)Please help me!

  • @kafsha94 no it wont work.... you can find ddr ram at best buy. ect. if you have ddr than you have to use ddr for the upgrade

  • Check your motherboard have to follow the rule example motherboard DDR3 8GB 240pin, 2000Mhz so it mean can match it system. Cant be diff thing cause computer will tell u when motherboard beep beep beep mean there somethings not right.

how find out how to match it then go book pc upgrade it will tell u what u do next and when u done and u ready for fix it remeber wear to safe use a Anti-Static wirst.

  • who told you that 1024 = 256 mb ??

    Are you freakin kidding me

  • not this wrong 1024GB if low number is MB i dont think so 1024MB it cant be.

  • @cooolguy1986 i think its... 262,144 / 1024 = 256

  • @cooolguy1986 thats what it equals, do you know anything about computers?

  • @cooolguy1986 If you did I.T in school you would know that it's 262144 kb divided by 1024 = 256 mb

  • @cooolguy1986 Who taught you how to read? The caption says 262,144/1024 = 256mb which is correct.

    Are you freakin kidding me?

  • i have bought 2 ram modules same as yours 184 pin for my pc and it goes in but when i put it in my computer it only reads 512mb of 1gb in each or the stick rams. i have the right memory and i have instaled the memory properly i have seen my mother board specifications, it supports up to 2GB of ram 1gb of ram on each of the 2 ram slots.

  • Begin o to max? what max be is my is 24GB max not more then 24GB!

  • Thank you for the info!

  • how would i determine which ram is dimm0 and dimm1

  • Dude will you bear my babys? <3

  • should i ground myself first before i remove the ramm from the motherboard?

  • always for safty

  • when i put my ram in only one side goes in and you cant get the other side.. can that type ram work ?

  • whatch 1:45 to 3:09 that should help

  • Nope and it damger ur motherboard. must be same system but allow 2Gb to 4Gb but follow the pin like 180pin, 240pin aslo follow the motherboard for MHz,Pin,begin 0 to max.

  • very easy

  • if smoke comes from your computer, something on your computer is fried. rendering that item useless/broken.

  • cool video, you don't mention electrostatic discharge. if your doing ram changes or any work on your computer, particulary in cool dry conditions, you risk damaging it by passing a electrostatic shock to it. use a esd wrist strap or at least ground urself to the computer case.

  • Especially Ram is sensible for electrostatic shocks thats why i prefer heatspreaders is much saver.

  • he is grounded, you see that thing around his left wrist?

  • meaning you should keep both arms on the computor case at all times and stay away from static electricity, like certain rugs... right?

  • It is a sempron, athlon or phenon?

  • the way you did put in the ram sticks could easily make them get pushed to the sides

  • Hey, I just changed my ram thanks to your video! Thank you!

  • its pretty straight forward

  • lets chat

i liked this video :) Op

  • Right i know this is a bit off topic. but still, i have a eMachines PC (E2464 i THINK!, in my friends house atm) i know its not the best but so what :P. i need to buy more ram but DELL and eMachines need their own 'specific' ram i was searching on various websites, like newegg, crucial and kingston and i cant find the ram for my computer model? i think it may mean that i can use any ram? but if anyone else has this problem, or a solution plz message me :D!

  • It depends on your motherboard.

    Find the compatibility of that.

  • good

  • videos not avaiable no more... what help :@

  • This video is still available and has not been removed. You may have experienced a problem with a YouTube outage or something.

  • i have a vaio digital model which is around a 2001-2004 and i have a slight problem my pre-installed floppy drive is in the way and i don't know how to remove it because i cannot push it out foward

  • Check your owner's manual, or Sony's website for instructions on removing the floppy.

  • refresh you internet connection.

  • thanks this sort of helps as I have had problems with installing new ram

  • Crucail Memory Scanner detects what kind of RAM you need and what kind of RAM you have.
