  • What microphone does Zach use for vocals? Looks like a Shure SM7B?????

  • CORNY

  • 1:05 "There is a little bit of editing - VERY very limited ..."

In other words, we re-tracked most of the instruments ourselves after the band went home, and this singer is getting autotuned until his arse bleeds!

  • the song sucks, really, the recording is probably good, nice equipment. that female is nice looking 2, maybe she should loose the duds and stop sing folk music and go pop like taylor swift.

  • I'm getting the UAD 4-710 it's basically 4 of these babies in one! I love these preamps.

  • Good song!

  • sux

  • What a bunch of neo-hippies. Bleh.

  • Great Band n Sounds..Cheers

  • i want to know what is another monitor. behind yamaha ns-10. thank you.

  • @WeAreLetDream K+H O 300 D

  • Cool.. sounds clean and good.

  • Everyone's a critic. Sounds good from here and I don't see anyone posting anything better so far. I wish you guys would post some examples of the 4-710d. I'd really like to hear that one. I may end up renting one before i buy it. It seems like a smokin' deal if it is all you say it is.

  • Great Stuff!

  • Whoever cut this video has clearly never heard drums before to know what piece of the kit makes what noise o.0 I mean, this is beyond sync issues - the timing's actually decent, but they'll cut to the drummer hitting snare and hat while nothing but crashes are going on in the song! lol Yeesh... Anyway, other than that, fun video. I think I'd like this song a lot if the lyrics were better. I can overlook the frontman's mustache and glasses:P:D Thanks for posting, UA!

  • He's like a annoying Jack Black in love.

  • Cubase Rocks ! Why did you use pro tools in first place ???

Anyway, the song sucks...but the studio is looking so good!!!

I'm gonna grab me few 710's and try them out...see what those can do...I was just looking around for reviews and it took me to this video...

  • i really like this band..

  • So what about Logic? I think it sounds better when PT and Cubase..

  • That's What's Up, That's Hot Love It

  • why did u go from pro tools to Cubase?

  • @cartofgiant hahah I knew I would finda post like this.. when he said he mixed in Cubase.

Why not! what makes you think PT is better..? hehe!

Learn to use Cubase and you will never go back to PT.. Infact I have no need for PT other than transfer sessions from other studios with PT, to Nuendo or Cubase for mixing and mastering.

  • tha girl in tha band is ah hoe ill bang her!!

  • wow..........great........

  • cool

I lol'd when the girl smacked down those guys, all in good fun

  • If Cubase is the Sh**, why not track straight to that? I agree that Pro Tools summing is not the best, but the way that it deals with audio and editing is unmatched in my experience. Use the UAD2 in Pro Tools (its ready now) and get some anolog grit back in there and you've got a record!

  • @tuberwil

We don't care about hype from digi..oops I mean Avid/Pro tools.

Not only the summing in PT is horrific, its constantly dithering everything you do, even fades on the waves.. CUBENDO' have 32bit float un touched 98% to analog audio engines buddy.

PT is only used to track in many studios as a tape recorder and they need to mix back into a neve or SSL or use Cubase or Nuendo. Because sound horrible by itself in PT. thin, steril...dead.

    cheers..

HD is gone. a bunch of BS.

  • @girotube

You know what Grio? You're right. I need to by an external summing box or something to get some life into PT. The summing really is bad man. But the editing is really great, don't sleep n that. I'm not trying to hype PT, and if they don't get their act together with customer support and this new AVID bs...they are going to lose a lot of longtime users! Peace

  • @larimarmusic

I would have loved to give you a run down on CUBASE 5.5 or Nuendo 5 today at SAE in NYC.. I was there for 8 hrs..

  • Thank for uploading this great video Just want to know what sound card do you use when mixing in Cubase or Nuendo?

    Regards,

  • why would you import into cubase when you have pro tools?

  • 2 answers.

#1. At the time of the video the UAD-2 card was not ready to use with Pro Tools so to mix we had to import into Cubase to use the card and show off the plug ins.

#2 Having used Pro Tools for well over 10 years I can say without a doubt that when mixing in the box the summing inside Cubase and/or Nuendo sounds way better to me. I have done numerous sound tests with other engineers who I trust and we all had the same opinion that it sounds better.

    Matt Boudreau - Broken Radio

  • Pro tools sounds too clear. Some people do not like that.. Though a good engineer can use pro tools and make things sound more like tape simply with plugins. Even though cuebase can achieve sounds as pro as pro tools, It does not have as many options as pro tools. Thats my opinoin, I cant take it serious.

  • make easy to mix & mastering......yuo can try it

  • Record into protools and transfer it into cubase. Thats exactly how I would do it!..Then rock with the uad2 plugs!.. 3 great platforms: UAD, protools and cubase !! ROCK ON!

  • Great band, great SF Studio, cool producer/engineer and an awesome way to show the UAD-2 product in action!

    ;-)

  • It's really hard to beat analog/tube stuff! Sounds great!

  • Love the huge sound of this recording! Kudos! Great vocals. Nice song, too.

  • sounds like an awsome card and its an awsome track
