I wouldn't count on Warren Buffett. Buffett said: "There was a class war and WE won." The WE being the super-rich. The super wealthy have ALWAYS looked at the world as an us-versus-them conflict. The super-rich wouldn't lobby the politicians so hard if it weren't so. The super-rich almost NEVER operate from altruistic motives. They are much more like the movie character Gordon Gecko.
Charity is never a substitute of justice. How the FUCK will CHARITY spring people from prison who are locked up because they fought back oppressive laws - in Iran, in China, in the USA - that are either theocratic or give all power & resources to the few or anti-free speech or take away people's right to put whatever drugs or pot into their bodies?
Super-rich wouldn't be super-rich in the first place if we didn't have gov't coddling corporations. The rest of us would have more.
I don't know about the super rich saving anybody, but he is totally right that if things keep going this way more crashes will come and they'll be bigger and worse.
Ed? who the hell is this ED moron anyway? Where did this dumb nut come from? Somebody enlighten me -- I don't watch TV at all - I disconnected it about a year ago because it made me sick -- like this fat head.
Most Americans realize that, even today, we still have SOME power to rein in corporate America every so often. Not all the politicians are bought. And plus, most Americans aren't 'controlled' by corporate America. They can still make all the buying and selling decisions they want. They can get a job or quit a job wherever. I think Nader's referenced poll that "80%" of americans think corporations have too much power over us is nonsense. Most Americans don't think about it that much.
And the majority of Americans Nader needs to get votes from in order to actually be elected just don't buy his message. Sure, you can chock a lot of it to people having 3rd-party pessimism and not wanting to "waste their vote" or the election laws that are biased against minor parties, but that doesn't explain ALL of the reason why he hardly gets anywhere. Maybe if Nader quit bitching about corporations all the time, people would start listening. Corporations do bad as well as good.
From what I've heard in recent years, Ralph Nader and his public nonprofits have yet to make real change. Sure, PIRG may have gotten some good progressive things done at the state and local level, but ever since Obama got in office, for example, when's the last time you heard of a Nader group getting an effective victory? Of course, maybe they just don't credit for it and lay low. Who knows. But my point is that Nader just doesn't have that spark he once had. The fuse has been put out.
I'm so fucking tired of people on Youtube who represent a particular viewpoint shutting out others because "They're trolling." Who CARES?? Trolling or not, sometimes people have legitimate points on the other side! You can't just ignore them because they're "trolls." How was what I said trolling? I was making a legitimate fucking point. That's how I feel. I wasn't just saying it to be sarcastic or contrarian.
Get your heads on straight and stop with these "troll" excuses.
Not to mention I don't think it helps his cause to constantly say stupid crap like "There's no difference between the Republicans and Democrats." REALLY?? Zero difference at all? Even the most staunch Independents don't say that. Of course there's SOME DIFFERENCE. Or to claim that the Dems and GOP are ALWAYS in the tank for corporate America, as if there are ZERO progressives or freedom-lovers like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. The DNC has its faults, but I'd hardly call it corporate.
Yes, God Bless Ralph Nader! I echo this too! Wow! I can't believe I'm agreeing with Pvtjamesryan2! I voted for Mr. Nader in the last two presidential elections! This man is honest and calls a spade a spade. He takes no PAC money and owes allegiance to no one but the citizens of the United States. I love this man! He's truly a great man! Too bad more people don't see how badly his wisdom is needed in this fucked-up country. "It takes a pillage" is so apt a title for that article he mentioned!
[2] Wow! Barney Frank's shredding that reform proposal (i.e. the Elizabeth Warren thing 2:15 ). I thought Barney Frank was one of the good guys. I was wrong. Turns out he's just a piece-of-shit traitor as well! What a cocksucker (figuratively and literally!)
In 2000 Al-Gore selected a Joe Lieberman a hardcore Zionist as his running mate, Joe LIE-berman supported the Iraq war resolutions and is strongly pushing the US for war with Iran, he also supported a bill to regulate the internet.
What is Obama doing right now except continuing Bush's policies ? No change. Same shit.
Stop watching the Zionist Controlled main stream media, no wonder why your brain is so rotten.
Has Ralph Nader done ANYTHING except talk, talk talk and made numerous failed runs for president since 92 or 96? Why continue calling him a "consumer advocate" if he can't even effectively campaign anymore and get bad laws off the books and better consumer protections ON the books like he supposedly did in a huge way in the 60s and 70s?? All Nader does is make failed no-win runs for president, fires up supporters, and then almost lays low during the interim, just publishing more books.
One might want to look to themselves before asking for the credentials of others. If you understood the game, and how it is played, you would already know why he hasn`t won. The title of this book should give you a clue as to why that might be.
Seriously, man? Is that the new trend on Youtube? Call anyone who makes a valid point that happens to be negative a "troll"? Look, I realize Ralph Nader is en vogue with the progressive community, but I'm not a HUGE fan. I see his flaws and realize he's human like everyone else. I also realize he has done little to advance progressivism since the 70s except bitch, whine and make failed presidential runs and then lay low before he runs again. Besides, calling me a troll is a fucking copout.
yeah but it's the point he's getting across that is important. The point is the super rich who get involved heavily with politics are the ones dictating the policy. If you can get some super rich folks to dictate some policy which is in the better interest of the people and not business we can get somewhere.
"The super rich would never save us because it is not in their interest."
No, you're wrong. It *IS* in the richs' interest to save us. Why? Because we're their slaves that do their work for them in this miserable world. They have to throw us a bone now and then.
No, I didn't forget that. As I said, they still need their serfs to do the work. They're lazy fucks that don't work & depend on the slave class to do all the manual labor. All they do is make money off of money. They sit in luxury due to the sweat & toil of others. They have to throw their slaves a bone now & then to keep them relatively happy & most important of all, unrebellious. Too much greed & this racket of theirs falls apart.
@idontnormallydothis nader is projecting a hypothosis that they can do something positive with their money instead of hoarding it he stops short of saying that there money should be confiscated.
