It seems like everyone has a Mellotron Mk2 these days & is performing in a Genesis cover band. How bout let's start a Premiata Forneria Marconi or a Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso cover band instead? I'm currently in a Il Baletto Di Bronzo cover band...and I'm getting a headache...
B-side? This is a song from the album "Nursery Cryme" from 1971 (the first album including Collins on drums and Hackett on guitar...).
By the way, it's also interesting to hear Phil Collins' vocal debut on this recording ("For absent friends"). His voice had already the typical touch and sound at that point, though he was only 19 years old then...!
It was both... from the "Nursery Cryme" album and then included as the b-side to the non-album single "Happy the Man". As to why it was never released as a single on its own, dunno. A good many songs from that album that would have made great singles!
DRAGOOOOO! Io lo so che quando su "Musical Box" dici "now, now" sputi le fiamme dal naso. A parte gli scherzi, siete grandi, complimenti a tutti. Appena tornate a Stazione Birra spero proprio di venirmi a sentire.
He's not a bad singer he just is way out of his depth and doesn't have any idea at all how to render this stuff. Just painful, his performance screams "I DON'T GET IT."
Yes but still very good. As someone said it is quite a difficult tune to play live. I always wondered why the Italians had such an appreciation of the Gabriel-era Genesis. They really got it and appear to have been huge fans. The musicianship is fantastic. I wonder if the keyboard player is using a real mellotron or a sampled one. An outstanding job.
keyboardist is bang on!

Indeed, particularly the thrilling final instrumental part is superbly covered: 'Seven Stones' one the best songs ever made.

It is a great song isn't it? I saw Genesis 3 or 4 times in the early 70's and these guys sound just like them, except for the vocalist.

This Cover Band is fuckin' awesome! Nice job remaking this tune. Very impressive-not many folks could pull this off!

Having seen Genesis in their early days 11 times and not realizing at first this is a cover band I have one thing to say..............SUPREMO !
Actually better than Genesis themselves doing it especially the meletron.
6 Stars !

I believe it was the B side to the single "Happy the man".

I've never heard this one before since I only own the live albums and the greatest hits compliations. This was a B side. Great tune though.

Really a great performance! It's such a hard song to play and you've succeeded in render it very similar to the original one!!! BRAVISSIMI!

The lead singer has too heavy an accent for me persanaly. Other then that its a very well done version of a classic.

Is this genesis or a cover?

This is Italian tribute band Revelation. A very faithful rendition, only ever-so-slightly marred by the vocalist's obvious accent.
