I cried the whole time I watching this. My mom used to be an interpreter. My dad died less than a year after this song came out. I didn't realise what it meant until after he died. Whenever this song comes on the radio, my mom drives with her knees and signs along with the song in sign language and she cries. You performed the song beautifully.
i'm an ASL 2 student and i love this video! it's taught me alot but i'm having a hard time seeing your hands because they shorta blend in to your walls in some parts ):
you are amazing!!! i wanted to sign to this song too but apparently i cant cause my ASL teacher says its bad to sign to songs unless your in college lever...well i want to be an interpreter anyway so i guess ill get to sign songs some day ^^ thank you for your beautiful signing i loved it i cant wait till i can sign as good as you ^^
Wow, this was really awesome. I'm a little on the 'hard of hearing' side of things, but I haven't had to learn sign language. I'm learning some right now, but all I know is the alphabet, how to spell out words and just some basic things. Thank you for putting this up! :D
@BrodyDarlin the deaf can "feel" music even if they cannot hear it. also many hard of hearing people (such as myself) use the signs to help understand what is going on and its nice to see an effort being made to include hearing impaired in all aspects of life including music
@weirdgreengirl92 I didn't look at it that way...I too have a slight hearing problem in my right ear, guess I should have dug deeper and answered my own question. Thanks.
@weirdgreengirl92 thank you! its so nice to hear someone stand up for themselfs today... so many ppl are biased agianst the deaf and hard of hearing communtiiy becuase they dont understand....for what its worth. you have earned my respect!
@BrodyDarlin oh wow, i as a coda thumb you down. deaf love music, the fact that they cant hear it means nothing. growing up in a deaf home, its not at all what you might think. dont be so quick to judge them.
@BrodyDarlin Not all deaf people are 100% deaf, If the song is loud enough they can perceive the music through the vibrations. It's a question I ask every deaf person I meet, It's a greeting of "Hello! My name is Cj, how are you?" And we chat and I ask questions "Can you hear music?" and other things.
@SongOfNyx Actually they don't hear it, they feel it. Have you ever put your hand on a speaker? It vibrates. When the music is loud enough, deaf people can even feel it in the air ( when sound travels through air, it vibrates the air). The statement "Not all deaf people are 100% deaf" is actually true. The only way a cochlear implant can work for a deaf person is if they have a small amount of hearing. If they have absolutely no hearing then they won't work.
@BrodyDarlin Yes, you can "feel" the music. It's the vibrations, I got to a festival every year & they have interpreters for all the music, hard of hearing people appreciate it so much :) As do I, good job with the video though.
@BrodyDarlin Also people do not just use ASL because they are deaf. I know people that cannot speak and they use ASL to talk for them but they can hear. Also ASL is for people that talk for people that cannot hear. Also those people do make videos to teach other as the deaf and the people that speak through ASL to teach it.
@BrodyDarlin The point is, Deaf people are able to see the signs and recnize that it is infact music, and people who are hearing impared do enjoy watching thease videos, and can understand music and the meaning of it, but i do get what u mean , its this comment cought my attenion because my boyfriend is deaf and i really love him and i want people to understand that they do enjoy music as well as people who can hear <3
@babygirl1852 I just did a sign refering to smile and the "resonating light" was like the the memory of the smile. It didnt translate well in some places so I did what I thought would be proper.
yes its a new camera but as you can see its got some glitches to work out :( but still i like it :) i cant wait to post my next one im working on a few new songs i hope to get at least one up by new years
thanks for the support with the video and thanks for the comment about my hair. I had to have my bangs back for my video so it usually looks a little better than that. But thanks :)
Comments like these are what keeps me going with my ASL interpretation

Pretty good, the only thing I suggest is making it a little more ASL-oriented rather than using english throughout :)
