if you have not it, I know another way to create the selection:

1) create a new layer (on the top you will find it)

2) use the brush tool to paint the hair (on the new layer)

3) go on "select" (on the top) and choose "load selection"

4) delete the new layer and you get the selection

Ohh, the colors were on 0% opacity, I just changed it to 65% opacity and now everything works. :D

Yo for people who struggled getting the colour more effective on dark and light hairt colourts.. click colourize and then higher the saturation.. you get a better and stronger colour

huh, i recolor hair i different way as well

but my way is simpler, since it's on photoshop elements 6.0, i use the magnetic lasso tool, then go to tones and saturation
