  • redneckmommy3 you're kidding with us ??? cause Michael rocks in this one ;)

  • i don't know about the rest of you, but i'm like that petra song "dance with the ONE who brung ya" and i wouldn't have been able to sit still through this - i'd be dancing in the aisles to this!

  • hello "redneckmommy3" i think you don't know what you're talking about. 1.Michael English is no new guy. He was the second lead singer in the vocal band. After he left, Buddy Mullins and Guy Penrod came along.

    2. He sang it in the original - on the album.

    3. Michael is an awesome singer.

    4. You can't compare singers like Mike and Guy. They are both great, but they are unique in their own way

  • I LOVE this song don't get me wrong, but this new guy sucks when he trys to sing those high parts, like, "Make it home tonight," and "Oh Lord I can't decide." I'm gonna find a better version with either Buddy Mullins. or Guy Penrod.

  • Thanks for posting! Been looking for this version.

  • Correct English is " I wish Jim WERE still there" which is what I said. Someone changed it!

  • First of all, no one can change what you write after you submit it. Second, the correct grammar is actually WAS, not WERE. You were right the first time when you said WAS.

    Nice catchy tune!

  • I love this!!! This is the way the GVB was when I first saw them. Wish Jim was still there. Is he retired?

  • this is also a very nice song

  • in "heartbreak ridge and newhope road" whith guy, marsh, wes and bill marsh is taking the lead am i right? anyway is guy taking the barytone there?

  • is jim or miachel singing tenor hear

  • Jim Murray is singing tenor on this. However, as with Guy, it was not uncommon for Michael to take the tenor and Jim or whomever was singing tenor at the time would drop under Michael's part.

  • Gaither certainly was not as comfortable with video persona then compared to now.....by the way is this video on Amazon?

  • The below comment was suppsed to be to MisterBoswell

  • Even though I am excited to hear that, and I'm sure they will sing great together, I meant If they were both in GVB at their respective "peaks" since they have both changed their vocal styles since leaving the band.

  • Love this song. Makes my heart sing-thanks

  • Hmmm...is Michael singing high tenor here?

  • Jim Murray is the first tenor, Mike is doing the second tenor or lead....

  • Ah, okay, thanks. I just asked because when I was trying to pick out their voices it looked like the high part was coming from Michael's mouth, I thought that was a little weird. Not that Michael probably couldn't, I'm sure he could've sang anything he wanted to. Anyway, thanks again.

  • Especially at part 1:15-1:18 is what I was talking about. It was a little bit confusing for me, just bad tape footage I guess.

  • Michael has an outstanding range and can hit it pretty high. Jim Murray sang tenor with the Imperials for many years. If you're a Michael English fan, check out Mrak Lowery's song, Loose My Soul, Mike is back upo but takes the lead for a minute. It's a great song!

  • Seen it, fantastic! And I didn't know Mark was such a good singer too. Phelps and English harmonized and complimented each other perfectly, oh if only they had been in the GVB at the same time, that would've been fabulous.

  • This is an interesting comment, since they are NOW both in the Vocal Band. First performance will be Jan. 29 in Alabama. We are all waiting to hear that. C

  • No kidding? What's the deal with that, is it like a reunion tour or something? And where at in Alabama?

  • You mean you have not heard the news about the GVB?..Guy Penrod and Marshall Hall are no longer with them. The new group will be Michael English. David Phelps, Wes Hampton ,Mark Lowery and Bill Gaither. Yes, it will have 5 members. The first concert will be in Huntsville.Ala. Check the Gaither Web Site.

  • Ah, well, that's exciting. So are Guy & Marsh just doing the solo thing now or what?

  • Man, I NEVER though Guy would ever leave! That's kind of sad. But hey Mark, Michael, AND Daivid, it's the dream team! So it'll all be good.

  • Guy is going solo according to what I'v read. I don't think Marsh has his future plans public yet. All I know is what I read on the Web sites and message boards. I have tickets to the Gaither and Friends concert in Ft. Worth April 3&4. I'll see for myself then ..C

  • My mistake the song is, "House of Gold" It's great, Michael English, David Phelps and Guy Penrod provide Lowery's back up. The harmonizing is fantastic. Hope you enjoy.

  • 09???? Maann... me neither jejeje

  • Good ol' times... I cant wait the GVB reunion DVD, sadly it wont be in front of an audience

  • this song is a personal favorite of mine! :)

  • One of my favorite GVB songs of all time!! Thanks for posting.

  • You're welcome!

  • this is the first time i have ever heard this song.......but i am waiting to go cross to the other side....i love the lord and doing my best here on earth....i believe in the lord jesus christ and i choose to live for him........sanangel

  • Thank you for sharing this oldie but goodie! :-)
