that isn't the big bang theory at all. does it annoy you when people equate belief in god to believing in a magic sky fairy?
we know the age of the universe and it isn't 5 or 6 thousand years old but about 13.7 billion. from the rate of the universe's expansion, particle experiments, background radiation and more we can logically deduce the big bang's existence. even if it is not yet possible to explain the initial conditions we can work out how the universe was created. there is no 'faith'.

They are actually changing the way they think about the universe. Because they have observed the Galaxies moving in ways that defy a big bang from nothing creator.
You do know that the top scientists engage in junk science don't you? They are try harder to prove their theory of evolution, than they are at examining the evidence and getting to the truth.

carbon dating measures the half live of stuff and from that they assume that this will indicate an age of something accurate to billions of years but records for actual experiments dont even go back a century

you don't get it. they don't calculate the age of the universe through carbon dating. its through measuring the speed at which the universe is expanding and levels of background radiation. from observation alone we can get a minimum age, ie from measuring the temperature of the coldest white dwarfs. this year alone a gamma-ray burst was detected which was found to be over 13 billion years old.

Seriously you are entitled to your opinion but I think even the most devout cristian would say that extracts like that from the bible are looking every day more unlikely. and frankly people that quote things like this un questionably kinda freak me out this kind of mindless faith cannot be healthy.
I agree the bible has a good set of morels to live your live by but you can have those morels instilled in to you other ways than the fear of god!

Africans made money on the slave trade, as they sold their captured North African blacks in war and sold them to the pirates on the Atlantic.
Most Christians were against slavery. Mexicans, Native Indians and Chinese Americans all owned slaves aswell.
Julius Cesar had 1 million white slaves many of which died down in the lead mines. Vikings sold white slaves and fetched little better than a head of cattle.

If he's so freaking awesom right, why do little kids get hit by their parents, innocent people get raped and killed on a daily basis, wars are allowed to claim millions of lives and natrual disasters destroy everything people work so hard to achieve.
