Wow I am so loving the Bollywood chicks I never really knew how interesting the India/Euro thing was. Films like "Ninas Heavenly" and most recently "I Cant Think Staight" both have amazingly sexy Indian actresses.. I dont think it will ever really catch on is the States because we are so into being American that we think everything else is weird..(a bit of culture clash!) I would love to see more!

Indian movies do not really know how to deal with or address serious issues. Once in a blue moon, if an Indian movie does come out with a serious message, it never gains the "media hype" the other Bollywood "usuals" with a guy and a girl, falling in love, dancing around the trees. This movie was written here in the States. A friend of mine knows the writier. And she tells me that every effort was made to ensure this movie is not just another "bollywood" type movie...I hope that's holds true..

Take Japan for example, where for centuries it has been more acceptable for a man to sleep with anyone he wants regardless of gender, but it was a woman's job to be "loyal to the man" and only sleep with men. Samurai law dictated that men should sleep with their superior officers as a form of submission; even if it was mainly for the purposes of politics and sexual philosophy.

To corbyz: Even today many countries are beginning to accept gay men more and more (although still not nearly enough, of course), but are still condemning the practice of lesbianism in the name of patriarchy and "the woman's obligation to the male sex." Lesbians in the media are either butch and unattractive or simply there for heterosexual eye candy. Just because you see more lesbian makeout scenes, doesn't mean it's more accepted. It's just in higher demand from straight men as a fetish.
