i have a question! do all Z4 from 2003 till 2011 have paddle shifters? and how many hp is the 3.0? ive heard some are 235 and some 265! whats the difference between those 2 since they are both 3.0l v6 ! ?

@luonq067 It all depends on how good of a driver you are. From the purist perspective, DTC should pretty much always be turned off.

If you look closely, you can see that it is not an automatic transmission. It is a Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) transmission. He was paddle shifting. SMG's are not an automatic or a manual... they are better!

It's not the good SMG like teh M5 and M6 though. Those are actually clutchless manuals. This one is an automatic but you can tell it when to shift if you'd like.

It's a bit slow for my taste though. I work as a valet driver and have driven the M5 and M6 (although not the way I would have liked) and I've gotta say that, even though I liked the clutchless manual it does take some time to get used to.

No, it isn't. What this car has is not SMG. SMG is only available on the ///M cars and stands for Sequential Manual Gearbox.

It is a manual in every function except the clutch, which is automated. You have to do all of the shifting though. The new SMGs have two clutches.

Personally, I still prefer the old-school manual.

American car fans think if you can take an exit at 60 it means you have good handling. A Chevette can do that. What a BMW can do that a Chevy can't is go 60 into a right hand sweeper and casually maneuver into a left directly afterwards. Your Cobalt will be in the trees if you try that.

z4s are only 2 seaters they cost 3 times more than my car..which i bought myself and not daddy like u.. and the cobalt ss sc isnt bad at handling..ss super sport..the z4 has 225 hp i have 253whp

Yep. Pretty nice cars. The interior could be better though and the steering ratio in ALL Nissan/Infiniti cars needs some major work. You won't really notice it until you try to take a really tight turn and when you think you have about 180degrees of steering rotation left, it just stops dead. In valet position, just about all I do is really tight turning so I hate them at work but they are nice cars. I love the engine sound on Infiniti and high-end Nissans.

nice..yeah im lookin at both the z4 and the 350z (both stick) right now but im definitely leaning towards the z..the interior quality doesnt appeal to me since i already have an 08 g sedan for that. yeah the engine sounds nice on the z ive only driven it once though and never drove the z4 but ive driven the 335i, 650i, 135i, and x6 (gotta love bmw driving school) and theyre all nice so if the z4 is anything like the 3 or the 1 then its a tough choice

hey man i own an 06 z4 3.0si, an 08 650i and my buddy has let me drive his 335. the 650i is really an amazing car as i'm sure you noticed, it's more of a highway luxury cruiser or a showoff car to me. the z4 is by far the most fun to drive and definitely the best handling, but the 335i is a beast of a machine and can outrun much more than the z4.

no i have the 2005 ss sc model, my brother has the turbo model with launch control and all that fun stuff. I still like mine better, the supercharger sounds awesome lol. I also have a 2001 gmc sierra z71 for winter.

right on, i always liked crossfires. the srt-6 looks sweet. i only have a shitty digital camera that makes crappy movies that you can hardly see so its probably not worth making videos. both cars are stock. just working on making some extra cash to pay the rest of my truck and buy some accessories. in a few years when i have a few grand saved up, i plan to sell the cobalt and buy a c5 corvette and throw the c5 z06 heads in it and a cam in the g5x3 range. you should check out cammed corvettes.

Love the corvette, the reason I didnt get an older one is they are all over the place where I live and I wanted to be unique. I never see other crossfires here. And the srt was to expensive and its an automatic and my crossfire is a manual. Look on my channel for a video of my crossfire.

I know what you mean. I have an old BMW 325, but the speed limiter is set at 120mph. I had it at 120 for about 20-30 minutes at one time and when I had to slow back down to 60mph, it felt like we were crawling.......at least you have autobahns. I would have been arrested and had my license taken away had I been caught.
