@trademestuff He actually was trouncing in Bush in the 2000 primaries, but then suddenly during the South Carolina primaries a fake rumor was spread that McCain fathered an illegitimate black child. The controversy and McCain's tirade about it cost him the primary and he never recovered. We can thank Karl Rove for that rumor...and for Bush.
