@PewPewPlasmagun Cryo ammo does not do bonus damage against any protection, it only affects health. Doesn't sound very useful but it is, specially the squad version.

@GhostSnake if you have powers to disable armor/barriers/shields. then its useful for rapid firing weapons, like smgs. otherwise... use armor piercing ammo.

Technically, Cryo Ammo is better on slower-firing weapons, since those have a better chance of freezing (sniper rifles and the Carnifex, for instance, will always freeze with each shot).

And the best ammo powers are the ones with crowd-control capabilities; Incendiary, Disruptor, and Cryo. Because of the damage formula, the damage boost from ammo powers is not as big as you'd think from looking at their descriptions.

im really annoyed with this level i seem to have come accross it too soon i wanted to do the majority of my side missions first but somehow got dragged into this level and im not really well equipped to do so on insanity i can do it fine up until i start getting the yellow energy ball thingys coming at me which knock me out of my cover spot any tip on avoiding them?

@greenblade3 you can just move to the side while still in cover and the ball wall sail harmlessly over where you would have been.

I was going to take Shotgun with him too, but yeah, since you said to avoid that I'll probably just go for an Assault Rifle.

@PiemasterBrad Cool, the drone pretty much neutralizes him though (every class has a counter move to Harbinger), and only has a 3 second cooldown.

Glad you found a way to keep him from tearing you a new one though.

Hey AG I can also confirm that Harbinger gets glitchy I have made a Harbinger do a cartwheel across my screen due to pull + Con shot from an ally as well as Slamming cryo'ing and the funniest being Harby doign a flip because of shockwave a harbinger :3

I've always wondered is Cryo just another means to take down opponents barriers cause it seems to be good for that and freezing people so I'm just curious if it is actually good against barriers.

Whe you say you NEED a helmet is that just due to the nature of the mission? I know Shepard always wears a helmet during missions that requre it but i didn't think that it overrided any visors that you may have equiped.

@Ted2of25 If you have the visor, it will all of a sudden put the Breather helmet on. Its the same as Tali's Loyalty mission.

Yeah i know, but do you not get the stat bonus from the visor? I assumed that showing Shepard wearing the full helmet was just an asthetic thing.

I don't think you get the stat bonus. I noticed when I played my infiltrator through this same section, it didn't seem like I had as much heashot damage as before (I was wearing the visor). So it's not just cosmetic.

how do you get fraps to not totally kill your framerate? i run solid at 60fps, but with fraps it goes down to 20. Id be fine with 30! i eventurn off audio recording

is there a different version of fraps that lets me record smaller size videos (smaller than "half size")

@auxili160 I'm playing in a window so I can record at true 720p. I have a pretty solid gaming rig I built myself with an ATI 4850 and an AMD Phenom X4 2.5 ghz quad. If your having framerate issues, turn off Anti-aliasing and shadows and whatnot because when you compress the video you won't be able to see that stuff anyway.

I tried playing at 1280x720 and my framerate went down to being locked at 18fps (I usually play at 1920x1080). I don't use antialiasing cause its not efficient w/ this game, steals 15ish of my frames per socond. I can use antialiasing fine at 720p, but looks worse than 1080p without antialiasing.

I'll try turning shadows off next time I try.

my system's never running at full capacity either, which peeves me off. cmon fraps!

keep in mind at 1080p im locked at 18fps with fraps too, so the same thing as 720p

When figuring health and shields, remember on your % boosts, they all add together first before they actually do the multipliying.

You probably have upgrades also adding so the actual number is smaller, your gear just adds to those upgrade multipliers.

The Avalanche allows a charge function. I don't believe charging does anything actually, it was probably a function that the devs scrapped before the game was released.

p.s. that group freezing of the collectors was hilarious and surprisingly effective!
