@devastaticon - im sure the fact that it was being blind folded and taken away had nothing to do with it flapping its wings to try and get free??? it was only over the roar of the cars, gusting wind and cheers of the crowd that it could hear a yell that caused it to flap its wings, right? ... your the idiot for posting such a comment....
@diananj21 I think the noise of the cheers was what freaked her out. Her wings were out as if to say "Im not comtable with a situatiuon not many Pelicans are acustomed too so I want to fly away" The rough road on her webbed feet wouldnt had been comtable either. Whoever resued her deserves the keys to the city.
I'm glad to tell you that this beautiful Brown Pelican (aka P193) was delivered to IBRRC and successfully treated. She was released on Friday, September 12, at Fort Baker, next to the Golden Gate Bridge, along with several other brown pelis. Many thanks to the police who stopped traffic and rescued her.
yeah and it flipped out, flaying its wings when you hollered like an idiot

That guy was so quick and nimble, I can't believe he caught the bird. A turtle could have outrun him....
