  • I'm so glad, that I've been in the Potter-Generation too...

I love the books and the films and I'm sure in pur hearts the story will never end ;)

"Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home"

  • DUDE Everyone is telling her to write another HP book, and of course I would just LOVE that, but I REALLY want her to start a whole new series too! I will be just as excited to pick up another book completely unrelated to HP as long as I know it is by her XD

  • Harry Potter is the worst book series in the whole world.

(Now I want at least 1 trillion dislikes on this comment!)

  • sorry I asked the question before the bit in the video where someone else asked it.... I wish she would write another book!

  • Who was headmaster of Hogwarts when Harry's etc children went to Hogwarts?

  • @blancmerlot Minerva McGonagall

  • @blancmerlot @MrCodyLance Nope. She said in an interview that McGonagall would be too old. But she never said who it would be..

  • Jo, not only are you a remarkable writer, you're a good person.

  • Get James potter PDF it is a bunch of books about Harry,s son everything explained

  • @ningahigan whats PDF?

  • @ningahigan where can u read this

  • Ever since I was little, I loved writing and at age fourteen I sat down and began to jot down notes and as I proceeded on, the notes grew into ideas. Before I knew it I had created my very own series at age seventeen. Now it is October 2, 2011, and I have my first book signing on the 15th. I owe everything to JK Rowling! Thank you for my childhood!

  • that book upset me.

like 1st chapter and she killed hedwig :(

    such a brilliant book

such a brilliant brilliant story. i'm lucky to have been in the harry potter generation

  • Jk Rowling is beautiful, and amazing i wish i was a fraction of the writer she is.

  • @Emily4leafclover609 i'm gonna get all mathematical here for a second and say you are a fraction of the writer she is unless you're not a writer at all lol

    the only 0 is 0/x

  • Who does Neville marry in my opinion he should of married Luna.

  • @flowerpower664 Neville married Hannah Abbott.

  • @Sakuri90 ik im so sad he was ment to marry me lol

  • Snape has always been my favorite character in the series; I wonder how much of this was influenced by Alan Rickman's portrayal of him in the movies. I often wonder if I would have had such an affinity for Severus Snape if Alan Rickman hadn't mesmerized me with Snape's presence--his voice (oh...those pregnant pauses!), his stare, his flowing cloak as he turned to exit a room.

I certainly cannot imagine anyone else embodying Snape with such...dismal grace.

Snape was more good than bad. :)

  • @jaibhakti

I am 100 percent sure that you would still love the Snape character just the same or maybe even more! He's my favorite and has always been.. I read the first four books when I was a kid way before the philosopher's stone film even came out, so I could not compare or relate with the Alan Rickman portrayal.. Now I'm 22 and I still love those books.. Ah the wizarding world - I'ts a whole new world that you can never resist!

  • I hate how it's always little kids they invite to these things. Some of those look like they would have been babies for the first few books, why not invite older fans too that have been there since the beginning.

  • @FloraJay well i was born in 99 but i am one of THE biggest harry potter fans i love it it changed me it changed my look on life the characters were my friends and were there for me and they still are and i love that Jo feels the same way and i would give anything to meet her alot of people would but yeah i think always inviting children is for publicity

  • I miss it. I miss waiting for the books to come out, not knowing what was going to happen and making up theories. I miss reading the books for the first time and I miss this whole world I used to live in a few hours at a time. It's been four years, is another book too much to ask?

  • Sirius is my most favorite character ever, I love him! I wish she didn't kill him

  • She is SUCH an amazingly brilliant author! The profoundness of her writing is unbelievable!

  • wait.... i know that kid at 3:58 .... how did that happen?

  • SPOILER IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE BOOKS OR MOVIES

she killed lupin and tonks instead of mr weasley.. they died in his place :( she had originally planned to keep them alive but since she hadnt killed him she decided to kill them instead

  • @truebloodfreak06 'Hmm... Not enough death here... Kill the new parents!' Haha.

  • @katiekannibal23 ah i hated her choice lol..i even said before i found out, anyone but lupin and the twins .. but 75% of my request was denied

  • A mans question: "Fleur Delacour...why didn't Harry hit that when he had the chance?"

  • @chubbest28

because his best friend Ron already tried and failed

plus, as she and him were both champions it would not have been allowed

  • The harry potter books are so amazing and inspirational, J.K. deserves all that she's earned from these books!

  • Does anyone else notice how green her eyes are?

  • SHE ALMOST KILLED FRED & MR. WEASLEY?!!!!!!!!!

  • @elefants19 She did kill Fred...

  • She's an AMAZING writer. The mythological creatures, Macbeth effect, Plato's cave, biblical references and symbolism, time travel, Tarot, alchemy, social class and rights, the Holocaust, bureaucracy, boarding-school/young hero story, Chekhov's gun, red herrings, latin-derived spells, and, of course, her very own Quidditch and dementors :) You just can't get any other literary work like that! I <3 the harry potter series so much!!

  • lol it's funny how the kids are being fed questions LET THEM ASK ON THEIR OWN!

  • 'I've done the wizarding world.'

But has she REALLY done the wizarding world?

    ...

    YES! She just said it!

  • Snape IS a hero <3

  • I knew she just couldn't give up Harry Potter! It's such a big part of her life, and now she's doing Pottermore! :D Anyone else excited, but me?

  • @CasualSlaughter What? Just because you get a certain "vibe" from someone doesn't mean they're less human than someone else. You don't even know her, so I don't think you can really say anything on "how human" she is.

  • Would you say I'm too obsessed if I told you that I knew she was reading lines from where Harry is telling Dudley that there are more dementors and trying to persuade the Dursleys to leave (again) because it is too dangerous for them even in the Muggle world?

  • I would LOVE it if Pottermore turned out to be like...an online blog where she'd post a prequel on the Marauders and also give us more insight into the Black Family. It think it'd be interesting to see what kind of parents could raise sisters so different as Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa....and also, why is Bellatrix barking mad? Exactly HOW was Andromeda disowned? What did Narcissa have to say about the whole affair? Hey, a girl can dream ;)

  • I like how she puts Harry Potter up there with the big boys. Lord of the Rings and Star Wars! lol HP definetly deserves

  • When J.K. Rowling was reading that line I could already tell that it was Hermione saying that and I haven't read the book yet. :)

  • Why is there so much Twilight hate, on a JK Rowling video? Let it go. Just listen to the interview for a change. I love Harry Potter and I don't really like Twilight, but it's not like I'm gonna go on a tangent about it and annoy the Twilight fans.

  • i always hoped she would write the story about the marauders, thats one side of the hp story that i was always curious about!

  • Book readers, check this amazing website: LoveAHappyEnding (dot) com

  • @CasualSlaughter I couldn't agree more. A couple of years from now, the Twilight Series won't be as popular as much as it is today, but Harry Potter will live on. Because it's a damn good book series, that will kick Twilight's ass any day.

  • I want to inhale and/or swallow this clip. And "favorite" it 100x over.

  • I know she's British, but she should be PRESIDENT of the US! She is the only person on earth I know that's worthy of being payed taxes to!

  • @TheIridescentDreamer Fuck you bitch. Making celebrities politicians is a REAL smart idea. Idiot.

  • @hardstyle905 I really wasn't being serious about it but okay, that's your opinion. I don't appreciate you calling my an idiot and a bitch, but you know, everyone has opinions and feelings. I just don't like any of our politicians today and I know she wouldn't ever be president, but I'm just saying she's qualified for it because Harry Potter is amazing and she's a fantastic writer and person.

  • @hardstyle905 You really need to chill. Watch the video, be done, and go on your way.

  • Soo... What's Harry's great great grandparents' middle names?

  • I cried and cried at the forest part too

  • To be honest, I would like to see a prequal to the Harry Potter series about Harry's parents. Even if its a novella or a short story.

  • @TheCGIMaster Have you read the one she wrote about James and Sirius? <3

  • soooo the title of this video should say "mild spoiler alerts!" little brat kids :p telling us about Snape being a hero and such :/ :p

  • In the middle of the interview it sounds like an interview with a serial killer "Did you ever consider killing Harry, Hermione or Ron?" "Yeah, definitely"

  • The American Harry Potter book covers are terrible!

  • @dominatorG94 Yeah, I think they are a poor depiction of the books, but as pieces of artwork, I think they're pretty.

  • Could people please stop bringing Stephenie Meyer into this? They aren't even on the same playing field. Don't compare that... thing to Jo Rowling.

  • I'll be very sad if she's truly done with the wizarding world.

  • @yoroshiku Well since then she's written the short text book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", and Harry's book "Quidditch Through the Ages", and she's written "The Tales of Beadle the Bard." So, as far as novels go, I don't know, she probably is done. But she has written "nonfiction" about the wizarding world.

  • haha when i read that book i asked all those questions in my head.....now they are all answered! :D

  • Stephanie Meyer created just another book, JK Rowling created another WORLD.

  • @bubblyburberry24 Another shit book.

  • @bubblyburberry24 No.

JK Rowling wrote wonderful literature. Stephanie Meyer sold her used toilet paper.

  • @bubblyburberry24 couldn't agree more!!

  • @bubblyburberry24 DAMN RIGHT !!! :D

  • Jo, thank you for my childhood.

  • 7 ppl are twilight-lovers.

  • harry potter was the first chapter book i ever read and the very first book that my friend ever read, and our friendship grew on harry potter. when we first started middle school together that was the first realization we had that we weren't going to hogwarts. someday, i want us to be able to thank her in person for everything she and her books mean to us. Yay for JK!

  • i remember the first time i picked up the first harry potter book

that was the start of my magic childhood

  • this woman was my childhood!

  • j.k rowling, a true inspiration and my hero. i think she should leave it at 7, if she goes on it might ruin the series. but please jo write more books of anything! your a brilliant writer. ;)

  • I am currently working on a novel and every time i feel discouraged i watch a J.K Rowling interview and absorb the information she is pouring out and i feel motivated again.

  • i kinda want to hunt down and buy the UK versions of the series, it may be hard tho cuz im in NY..... hmmmm

  • @iheartwicked91 You have theinternet genius...use it.

  • @foreverisalie713 have the right to be kind to others, why dont u practice it? RUDE!

  • Jo...please, please write more harry potter books. I love the movies and when part 2 comes out I will cry cause it will be the end of harry potter. I want it to last longer!!! :'(

  • I think she should write just one more Harry Potter book...what happened in those 19 years before we meet up with the characters again at platform 9 3/4. Not a 750 page long book...an average sized book...haha i want to know what happened soooooooooo bad!!!

  • She is literally one of the most brilliant writers to ever live.

  • 3:45 chapter 34 made me cry harder than ive ever cried while reading a book. It was so sad with all the emotion and Harry being surrounded by people he loved. I'm kind of dreading seeing that part in the movie, but im sure it'll be amazing

  • @TrainerJillian you should watch her recent interview with Oprah (unless you don't like Oprah that is) but it seems like a really relaxed interview and Jo seems like she's having a good time (probably helped by the fact that they have the interview in her native Scotland)

  • @purpleshamrock17 She's not a native of Scotland, she's English. But she does have a home in Scotland and lives there most of the time.

  • I liked the ending but also didn't .... I am of the opinion that if you are dead, you stay dead *cough* Harry *cough* why does he get away with it when other awesome people have to die :(

  • @Dracilla112 Becuase Voldemort killed the horcroux in Harry. Not Harry himself...i think thats what i got from it!

  • I started reading DH determined that Harry didn't die so when i found out he was a horcrux i was so shocked because i thought then that he would have to die.

But then i looked at how many pages that where left and i thought that it couldn't possibly end there because there was still a lot more to read

  • I bet if she hadn't edited her plans for the book, she would've killed off the entire cast besides Harry Ron and Hermione. XD

  • @anunnaki2006 *smiles and nods

  • SPOILERALERT!!!!!!

  • It is AWESOME to know that she too cries along with these books, UGH I JUST FRIKKIN LOVE AND ADMIRE HER SOOO MUCH!!!!

  • @CasualSlaughter I really admire, Meyer is so obnoxious. JKR seems like someone who is very intelligent, and Meyer doesn't seem so. I also think JKR would be someone I would rather have lunch with, rather than Meyer, who would probably be talking non stop in that loud and obnoxious way of hers.

  • Snape is my hero

  • @Talziemistle There are a lot of encyclopedia about Harry Potter.

But they aren't write by J.K. Rowling.

  • they only people i envy are those creative writers and piano virtuoso

  • @TrainerJillian i don't think it's a matter of being happy. i think its just because she's modest.....

  • omg i'm so glad she didn't kill mr.weasley :D

  • @ekspresis me too ! I mean, I'm really sad Lupin and Tonks were killed, but I think killing Mr. Weasley would've been inutile. I mean the weasleys already have tons of problems without having their patriarch die ><

  • @ekspresis yeah i was about to tear up from her just saying she thought about it

  • she's very soft spoken

  • Happy birthday, Jo!

  • jk rowling is like a queen. haha :)

  • @Unloven she's the queen of the wizarding worlds

  • @Unloven she is... haha :)

  • @Unloven She is a queen.

  • @VictorieJunkie No. She is THE Queen.

  • @Unloven Queen Rowling!

  • @Unloven She's better than the queen. What has that bitch Queen Elizabeth ever done for anyone? Nothing. She was born into wealth and nobility. I hate rich scum that is rich for doing NOTHING.

JK Rowling deserves to be rich. She produced great work.

  • @hardstyle905 Actually, Queen Elizabeth did do so many things for so many people. And just because she was born into nobility doesn't mean she had it great in her childhood. Her mom was executed by her own father, her father married wife after wife after wife, and her half-sister, Queen Mary (Bloody Mary), wasn't exactly the kind of sister anyone would want. But JK Rowling is awesome and does deserve to be rich, but I don't understand why you have to under rate Queen Elizabeth I to prove it.

  • @Unloven who are you even afraid of? you fucking pussy. make your channel visible.

  • @hardstyle905 alright? what does that have to do with anything?

and nah, i'm hiding it from stalkers like you.

  • @Unloven it just so happens that i get very aggressive talking to GHOSTS. i want to see who i'm talking to. also i wont take anything from you seriously, GHOST.

please drop a hairdryer in the bath tub while you bathe!

  • @hardstyle905 omg you found out. i'm a hogwarts ghost.. don't tell anyone

  • @Unloven like? she IS a queen

  • JK is my idol. She's just amazing, I absolutely love her! She's so inspirational. I wish her all the best with the future because she sure as hell deserves it! And she's so quiet and not up herself at all. And besides, to all the people who say she's up herself, she's not, but if she was, I'm pretty sure she can be, she has enough reason to!

  • I adore this woman. She definitely is my role model. I hope that one day I'll be as good at writing as her - though I guess that's a REALLY tough goal. :)

    I love you JK Rowling.

  • this is my favorite book of all time. It is absolutely incredible how all of this came out of this woman's head.

  • Jaqueline Wilson is much better writer than her, in my opinion anyway

  • @AMY1213141 lol ok that was a kind of unnecessary comment

  • @cookiesncream994 GOOD FOR YOU

  • @AMY1213141 ummm....what? ok....

  • @cookiesncream994 NEVER MIND

  • J.K. Rowling is so brilliant. She's such a down-to-earth person.

  • she's an absolute genius!!

    JkR is the BEST!

  • J.K. Rowling is the best, most successful, most generous living author in the world.

  • Chapter 34 also made me cry, Jo.

I always found it funny now that so many religious people badmouthed Harry Potter for teaching Witchcraft to children, when in the final book, Harry really took on a bit of Christ Allegory whether it was intentional or not. Both die and are resurrected....because the ultimate master over Death is the one that must accept that Death has to be a part of life. Like it said in the Peverell story, he appeared and took Death's hand as a friend......awesome finale.

  • yeah, i´m christian, but i just LOVE the HP books!!! :) i think it´s just from person to person if they like HP or not.

  • I'm Christian as well (a Sunday School teacher to boot) and I love the HP books as well. Just noticed that conflict from the seventh book (which is my 2nd favorite behind Half Blood Prince as my favorite). Rowling just does great writing and I'd love to see what she writes next :)

  • Hope she might to a " Next Generation" thing with their kids...

  • no way! the story was complete with book 7. if anything, the public should be happy there were so many books in the first place

  • 6:38 "you can look out at these sweet innocent faces and say there wont be another book" lol look at the rapist at the top right, i bet hes not that innocent.

  • HAHA that really made me laugh, total rapist :D

  • Comment removed

  • hmm i guess your right but it does unfortunally clash with what the brillant jk has said about hermione. if she didnt get an O. can we assume that harry was the only student who did? because if hermione couldnt get an O then who eles can?

  • Hermoine was never very good in DADA (well, compared to how brilliant she is in other subjects). During the examination she messes up, but I don't exactly remember how. But, and E is still great.

And during the entire series it is mentioned how Hermoine is never as great in DADA (can't do patronus well, can't rid get boggart during 3rd year exam, etc.)

  • Yeah thats right, but I always thought that JK just put this in to make Harry look better at it. If Hermoine could outperform everyone else in every other subject realistically she would be at least as good as Harry at DADA. Harry wasn't even that good, the only good spell he could do was the patronus.

  • @3:36 Dobby

  • Aw, that's so sad! :( The interview just signifies a sad thing..

  • my question to jk, or to a fan who might no a secret reason.

if hermione is surpose to be the cleverest witch of her age, and that of any girl her age in diffrent era's , why she got a E in d.a.d.a when she was clearly great at it.

was it just to highlight the fact that harry was better then her in one subject?

  • I agree with you that the burning of the Burrow was a complete testament to Yate's lack of knowledge of the HalfBlood Prince. The Burrow was the heart of the Order of the Phoenix and a safe haven. I am very curious (and very scared) to see how this all plays out in the Deathly Hallows movies.

DAMN! He screwed up one of my favorite books in the series.

  • i think was to highlight the fact that she was mostly book smart i dunno..

  • but she passed with the highest grade in all the other subjects. "charms" and "transfiguration" are practical subjects and transfiguration is surpose to be "the most complex brand of magic".

  • I think she got an E in D.A.D.A Because Severus hates her

  • snape doesnt mark the exam, plus if he had, harry wouldnt have got an O lol

  • My bad. lool. maybe she did it on purpose? who knows

  • i think she did. because i no in one of the book harry and hermione have a debate on who is better at the subject. harry thought hermione was, and hermione thought harry was. so i htink thats why she give harry a higher grade. but by doing that she has underminded the fact she states hermione is the cleverest witch of her age ( in any era)

  • yeahh. and even in divination. she never liked that subject cuz its pure guess work. not bookwork haha

  • Well, maybe. But personally, it signifies an important life lesson. No one can be perfect at everything and we must at some point be able to live with that.

Example: Bill Gates is clever, smart, rich- but not really the best at connecting with people. He has learned to do so over the years, but he couldn't always. Does that make sense? Lol- Im a month late on the reply.

  • this woman is by far one of the best writers in terms of conveying so much goddamn emotion with her word choice

im totally in love with her :)

  • the most emotional part and greatest part of the whole series has to be where harry sacrifices his own life for the wizarding world and admits he is about to die and faces voldermort. the moment when sirius, lupin and his parents return is such an amazing part. by far the greatest chapter in any book ever.

  • The bit what made me cry was when Hagrid thought Harry was dead :(

  • she just broke the hearts of millions when she said 'im done with harry potter'

  • HARRY POTTER

  • I cried a lot too! The part Harry walks into the forest and he says "I'm about to die now." AHHH!

  • @theeverlastingsin i cried when dobby died!

  • Hermione should have died...i didnt want her to die...but i think literarily it should have happened.

  • Too be honest i thought Ron should have died, like saving hermionie or something... I really thought there was gonna be a more important person to die in this book!

  • @jphobbit eh, snape? i cry everytime i read the chp abt him, the prince's tale. =/

  • better that then 6 unimportant persons! Although.... you know who DID die... He's pretty important!

  • I literally cried while watching this.

    Joanne is simply amazing.

I've read them all countless times; they never seem to get old.

It's a very extraordinary talent to be able to have that effect when writing.

It's just so sad watching this knowing that it's over.

There will not be any more Harry Potter books and that truly breaks my heart.

    She's a brilliant person!

  • She is simply superb. Once I finished reading Deathly Hallows, I just sat and stared off in space at how brilliant she is!!!!! OMG!

*But she should totally slap the director of The Half Blood Prince* Talk about a movie that did the book absolutely no justice.

  • You are so right!
