Apparently the kerosene worked just fine.There probably will be some moron who uses too much or the wrong way but kerosene does not have the same volatility as gas,so if done correctly will work.Beautiful stove by the way,but for my money I love my Plymouth Coal Stove Works "Chubby".Basically the same shape,just not as tall.Thanks for the post!
A word of caution on using Kerosene or Lighter Fluid to start a fire in a stove. Never use flammable liquids on a dying fire, hot embers or hot ashes. Don't even try it in a stove that is still warm after the fire has gone out. There is a great danger that the flammable liquid will generate fumes which will violently flash over or explode when exposed fire. Be safe with your stoves and avoid a tragedy.
