I was born in Southern California and moved to Indiana and I've lived in Indiana more years than I've lived in California. I've lived here twice, I've lived there twice. Indiana has it's downs as much as any other state but it's a wonderful place to raise your children. It's extremely boring, but for Children and older folk, it's great.
These people just want to say "I'm from the midwest and see where I went, I'm awesome". But seriously Indiana has nothing but cows, serial killers, and corn. The people are mean and close minded. I'm born and raised in Indiana... nothing to be particularly proud of.
@DisasterFUCKxo Dude, all states have mean people and close minded people, not just Indiana. And not all of them are like that. I dont think we have serial killers as much as other states do >_>
@DisasterFUCKxo Okay, dude, chill. I don't know what part of Indiana you're from but, obviously, you've got some issues that need to be worked out. Like any other state doesn't have the same problems, if not worse? If you hate it so much here then just move. Im sure Indiana'd be glad to get rid of you as much as youre glad to be out of it's borders.
@goobersrock90. Among other sick and twisted people. Have you seen the horror flick girl next door? Not the comedy... the horror flick is based on a true story about a woman torturing a young girl to death in Indy. There are so many sick and twisted people in this state along with. There are close minded people everywhere but this place, the midwest, has alot of them.. the majority of the state is full of bible thumping hypocrites who do nothing more that harass people.
It's an...interesting state. Indianapolis has many features of a developing city. So on the plus side, you're in the middle of a lot of really interesting growth, a transformation with a LOT of opportunities. On the other hand, we don't really have basic things like public transportation or sidewalks (those're coming in now).
So sometimes it's great to be there and terrible to live in at the same time.
Back to Indiana! Check out our group that wants pro soccer in Indiana! We could use this song as one of our supporters songs! We are on facebook. com/mlstoindy
OMG!!!!!!! My boyfriend originally lived in Indiana. He moved to South Carolina for college and I remain here in Indiana. He gave me a promise ring and his word that he would come back for me. This song explains us perfectly. =) Thank you, The Elms, for writing this wonderful song!
I saw these guys playing this song the day they released this album at ... Castleton Best Buy. The coincidence being that I had to get my computer fixed...I liked this song so much that I bought the CD that day too, and this song is my favorite. I'm a Fishers girl myself.
No. I was over by the Geek Squad counter to get my laptop fixed. Hehe. I heard this song and found it so catchy that I got the album and a pair of head phones because mine were broken. I was by complete coincidence that I was there at that time. My laptop had a piece of metal that frames the keyboard pop off and then bent at a strange angle. I needed it fixed as soon as possible. We were in the vicinity and ended up at Best Buy. Funny how things happen like they do.
@dbuuck1 The one time I got to see them was at the Smokies Stadium with Jeremy Camp and Third Day some time around 2004. Later they did an acoustic show in the Old City (their bass player had hurt his hand), and unfortunately I was out of town playing my own music or I would've been there. Hated to hear that they're splitting up soon.
I went to school with Chris and Owen. They have always been the most stand up guys you can imagine. It is truly great to see them doing so well and spreading the joy of their talents through music. GREAT JOB, GUYS!!!
Indiana is an incredible state. There is a friendliness and sense of human decency that is there. When I have visited in recent years it does not seem that much differrent than when I grew up there so like the song suggests I am thinking of going back
HEY GUYS~! Elms are coming to Zionsville Community High School and performing on January 16!!! Tickets about $15! Come listen to an amazing band now~!
Just got back to Indianapolis tonight. I live in Phoenix, Arizona now and love it there more than anything but I will always be SO proud to be a born and raised Hoosier and so excited to visit Indiana for the rest of my life!
I tried so hard to make it to your CD's debut (I don't remember where it was, Carmel or Castleton or something..), but my car had died a few days prior.
I'm so sorry I missed it, you guys are absolutely amazing. Keep playing.
tr1127- He never said the orange tree was in Indiana. He said he had a photo of her standing by an orange tree. Probably when they were visiting FL, etc.
What's with the criticism? It's not like they're going to re-shoot or re-edit at this point. Remember, if you can't say anything nice, be sure to post your address too so I can TP your house.
ANYWAY, I liked it. Owen runs like a superhero! And I like how the rest of the band just starts playing without him. I'm guessing they took a plane home instead of running the whole way. But they know he'll make it by the end of the song.
Cool video. Would have been nice to see some Indy cars in there, but I guess that wouldn't have been super appropriate to the subject matter. Good song guys.
I love the vid - and I also love reading commentary by people about the plausibility of Owen actually running across the country in one day. Um I'm pretty sure that's the point, that it's impossible, but he did it anyway. You probably hated the last Coldplay video too cuz there's no way Chris Martin can fly in real life! GO ELMS!
Love the song guys, but I can't agree with some of the direction on this music video. It would have been nice to see the three of them playing together in a nice wide shot, especially given the beautiful countryside. We never even see a wide angle shot, not even when Owen joins the band. Too many close ups! But love the song, and love the album. Just being honest about some things that bothered me watching this video.
My teacher Mrs. Wambo said that you guys were her students in high school ily this song i love Union City
