  • YUR FEMALE AN' LACTATIN'

    U GOT MILK HUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUH

  • thats so cute

  • How loving and sweet! Precious!

  • Love it! I have a female that does this to my husband's hair. She's marking the Alpha-male in the house. Grit looks like he's marking you. He loves his mommy! No, Grit does NOT look like it has MBD. Who posted such a rude comment..? Looks healthy to me :)

  • lol hes scenting you

  • lol it was trying to fuck her in the ear

  • hi, i live in Michigan and i'm not sure if it's legal but i REALLY want one but i would hate to just run up and take one away from it's mom. and i feel like the only way to get one is to wait for something awful to happen to it's mom. soo basically, are there breeders? i mean, i don't think it is a good idea to breed them but how did you come across yours?

  • Perhaps he's flossing his teeth. :)

  • hey

i have a possum living in ma backyard.

i want to tame it as a pet and let it inside my house and give it a home so it doesnt get killed

do you know how? please tell

  • @tdenterprise You would have to find an orphaned baby - older wild ones are hard to deal with. Contact a rehabber local to you and see if they have a nonreleasble that you could adopt.

  • I would LOVE to know how you have these wonderful creatures as pets! I am an ispiring Exotic Vet and I would love to have one as a pet!!!!

  • @ernestoruiz85

What would you like to know. I have had pet possums for years and it is great.

  • @ernestoruiz85 They are wonder creatures but illegal in many states unless you have an unreleable and are a rehabber. Check with a local rehabber to see if you could adopt an unreleasable. That's my first recommendation. They have very specific diets and need to be allowed to freeroam. they are nocturnal so keep you up at night. I would only have one as a pet if you can accomodate them. Go to opossum.com for the National Opossum Society for more info and Google local rehabbers.

  • god i wish i could find someone that raises pet possums

  • @Jerm540

message me and I'll hook you up with all kinds of possum lovers and info!!!

  • looks like it is marking her.

  • where did you get him?! i cant find breeders anywhere! thanks

  • He's marking you as his main chick. The goo of love. Cute but must be so icky afterwards. Cute little guy though.

  • my possum does this to since he was a baby he does it to my friends to why do you think he does this it seems like he is trying to put his scent on me

  • he looks like a real character ... our boy Elvis likes to "goo' everything up sometimes

  • hahahah my cat does this to me when i'm sitting on the couch and he sits on the arm. i had no idea possums were so big!

  • Oh yea he loves to take a bath. They have all been big. He was 28lbs and the other 2 are 11lbs @ 7 months.

  • You dont have any idea about what you are talking about.. Every one I have had has been checked and taken care of by a vet.. What makes you post such a hateful comment without knowing the facts of the matter

  • What a sweetheart

  • Do you have to have permits to have wild animals as pets in your state? Do you have the permits? Are you a wildlife rehabilitator? If so, please post that here so others do not think that it is truly humane to take any wild animal and turn it into a pet.

  • You don't need to have any reason besides companionship to have a pet. I love my possum, He doesn't benefit me in any way but there's no less of a reason to have him and no love lost.

  • Possums are like any other pet. You get back what you put into the relationship..

  • I would always catch my opossum doing this to my pillow -.- Every time i saw her do it, it was time to wash my pillow =p

To the person that thinks opossums are not good pets. My opossum was one of the best pets i ever had. may she rest in peace. She cought and ate mice and bugs, better than a cat ever could XD

So pls don't diss on opossums they are more friendly than a dog and are better than catching pests than a cat. They also like to snuggle up with you in bed, i will always miss that.

  • I keep possums because yes they are very clean. Dont hardly make any noise and are loyal as long as you show it some affection. I have 2 right now and they are great. They play all over my room and crawl up in my lap to sleep. Oh and fyi The diet is not hard to follow if you know what they like and what is good for them.. This is not my 1st rodeo.

  • did they say what I thought at 1:04?

  • cause thier very adorable the ones u see that r ugly r oppossum

  • @BNicholeB even though opossums aren't as adorable as brushtails, they're still wonderful.

  • i am sorry but i can not understand why you would want to have a possum as a pet. why not just get a cat or a dog.

  • 1. Why were you looking up pet possums in the first place?

    2. If we all took that sort of attitude, we'd have no pets, because people would just sit around saying, "I'm sorry, I just don't know why you would want to keep an animal as your own.

Of course, everyone is entitled to thier own opinions.

  • because i was wondering why. so instead of giving me some kind of lecture maybe u could answer my question why have a possum instead of a dog. are possums more affectionate or cleaner what is the reason?

  • Look here, don't get irate with me, mate. You said something ill informed and narrow minded. I was basically asking your question, especially as your grammar was so bad that it seemed like a rhetorical question. Maybe if you worded your "questions" better, people would understand what you were talking about. You also could have made it more clear as to whay you were looking this up- that was all I was trying to ask you, and you took it as some form of personal attack. Wise up.

  • lol. u are the one taking it personal. i just ask a simple question and u came on here going off on attitude. come on. cats hunt rodents, rodents are used a lot in science because of their close resemblence to us. they also form strong bonds. why a possum. u still have not answered my question because you are to busy trying to get into a pissing contest. mate.

  • @Sam123ni I agree. I do not know why that guy even cares. You're not doing any harm to him or the possum!

  • do you still have him.. I would love to ask some questions. I have 2 babies.

  • Do possums actualy make good pets?Do they show affection?

  • @mwillblade

no they are not good pets, please leave them in the wild where they belong, humans are so screw up with animals, look at our shelter killing and breeding dogs and cats. These oppossums are very sensitive and humble,(just like dogs and cats) their diet is very very strict and difficult to follow. Please adopt a puppy

  • Dog and Cats at one time were wild as well. As long as the animals is loved and cared for (and not stolen from the wild) Its perfectly fine. You need to know what you are doing, and be able to afford the time and money required to take care of ANY animal.

  • Once again, I have no time at all for that attitude- if we all did, pets would not exist, in any shape form or fashion. Dogs started out as wild animals as well, and some people just seem to think that they grow on trees. Not that its any of my buisness what you think- I just like people to know my point of view lol.

  • dogs also have great practical use in hearding and early warning system. what does a possum do for u?

  • Thats irrelavent- I was mearly using dogs as an example, albeit not a good one. Also, what ahrm is it doing the animal if it is clearly not bothered by it? Cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, and most other common pets have no practical purpose but noone complains.

  • What does a cat do for you? Or a rabbit or hamster? Hows this different from having a pet possum?

  • What do u use cats for are u kidding me. Cats main purspose for domestication was to hunt small pest like mice. hamsters and rabbits i would ask the same question as i would with the possums. so one agian why a possum?

  • the tail is gross, its like a big rat

  • @codyschuyler eh, they use the tail to hang upside down. nothing wrong with rats.

  • Possums do not have prehensile tails.

  • @xXxRebelVxXx opossum's don't hang upside down... a myth. They use the tail as an extra leg from time to time to support their weight when climbing. Hanging by their tail again is not something they could do for longer than a few seconds. Been a wildlife rehabber for over 20 years.... specializing in opossums.

  • catdog

  • I found a female with 6 babies if anyone is looking for 1. I need to find homes for these as I dont want to turn them out to the wild.

  • I want one! :]

  • Winder georgia.

  • Ok kool I am in Fayetteville NC

  • Really? Thats not that far at all I dont think.

  • ..my opossum does that too!!! :-)

  • Possums are the scariest damn animals I've ever seen. You are a brave woman

  • ahahhaa that made me lol hard

  • Well I found a female last week that turned out to have 6 babies about 2 weeks old. I am looking for homes for them if anyone is looking for 1.

  • @AwesomeAJ18 we are only afraid of what we don't understand. Opossums are the most understood of all mammals...

  • Those things are fun to trap (not kill, just capture, take em into the hills and release em)

  • looks like a cat the way he's rubbing his head on her haha

  • Grit is veryy cute! =)

I always wantedd a pet possum and especially now thatt I watched this video.

    How did you get Grit?

I love this and wouldd love to see more videos of Grit.

I saw the second video of him too.

    =)

  • I got him as a baby. His momma got run over and he would have died if I had not saved him. He was only 4 inches long. I raised him and he thinks I am his momma. never has bitten me. But he is a stinker to anyone who reaches for him If I am not there. He weighs 28 lbs right now.

  • its great you take care of him now and good luck with him in the future. :-)

  • Are you still wanting 1. I found a female with 6 babies only about 2 weeks old..

  • That is SO cute!!

I have a wild possum that comes and visits in the afternoon along our back fence...I always leave some cat food out for him as a snack.

I have heard they make really great pets!

    Where did you find Grit?

He looks like he is a real sweety :)
