  • i dont understand who let you put this on the internet... i dont know if you are molokan or not, but i dont think we would like u to put pictures of inside the church up on the internet

  • @alcoskilla1 Hmm that's funny... Molokans don't mind filiming being done in church and encourage it, pause at 1:48 and you'll see a camera man standing.. However the Prygunov and dukh-i-zhizniki ( people who use the book dukh-i-zhizn and put it on the prestol) pause at 0:43 and that's them. Which one are you now again?? Do you wear a kasovarotka with a poisd starpped to you side when you go to church?

  • thats my great grandmather in the right at 0:40

  • ...once apon a time, I fell in love with a young boy from Delano...a Russian Molokan... we were to be married but he had to leave me... I was not Molokan and therefore not to be a part of his life. I have never forgotten him ..I will always love him... that was 25 years ago this month...

  • My mother's parents came to America through San Francisco in the early 1900's. Their names were Nicholas and Pauline Kanehan. They moved to Boil Heights near Los Angeles, California and joined the Molokan church there located on Lorena Church near East Los Angeles. It was nick named "Big Church" and that is where I grew up. Listening to this recording brings tears of sorry and tears of joy. Thank you for posting this precious memory. Manya Petrovna Popoff Ferguson

  • Пение молокан Божественно, западает глубоко в душу.

  • I really admire the Molokan Russians...Once, when I was in college, a young Molokan girl saw me reading a book about philosophy...she told me that she only liked reading one book and that book was the Bible...I never forgot that moment!

  • cool... i seen my godfather Moisei (Moses) Samaduroff in a pic there lined up to the left of minister Lisitysn of Big Church ( E. LA ). I don't know what the occasion is though.

    @ time lapse- 0:42 / 5:24

  • At 1:55 is a picture of my grandmother and her sister at the church in San Fransisco. I haven't been to a service in so long, it was nice hearing the song again and being able to sing along in harmony remembering all those Sundays and holidays. Thank you.

  • Well thank you for noticing the video and taking the time to enjoy it :)

  • Beautiful

  • I am looking for Psalms 117 sung in Russian so that I my sing it with my russian friends, to the glory of God. I am also trying to learn Russian so this will help me with that also.

  • I am so sorry it was such a hard life in Armenia. The Molokans were in Armenia? I was born in California. We had many churches here and were free to be who we were.

  • UMCA...United Molokan Christian Association. In East L.A. Many other Molokan churches located in E.L.A. The singing is timeless....

  • I'm a russian molokon i live in bakersfield california. and my last name is chernabaeff. this is a nice song i never heard it but i really like it!

  • By the way this psalm is sung, I would say that Postoyan Molokani are singing it. Becuase they are using different words then the Molokan Jumpers use for this tune. Also if it was Jumpers singing it.....most likely the beat would be much quicker.

  • You are most probably correct. But, there were times when they were postoy.

  • Beautiful! Where did you get these pictures? Some looked like they were from Big Church in East L.A? I started scanning them for family! Also.......the "encampment" pics, what is the history on those? And the burning of the home?

THANX , and to Suicide Stu, never call a person's faith irrelevant! I married out, yet still I miss practicing. "If two or more are gathered in MY name, there I be also!"

  • how do you know? you dont so stop acusing our people

  • Please advise where the singing took place. San Francisco or LA? What Church? Also, can you help identify any of the photos? Beautiful and most interesting. Loving the Russian History, what to know it all.

  • Bol - the Molokans and the Doukabours are interrelated. If you like that kind of singing, this is a site that has a lot of very beautiful singing, that resembles none but the Hawaaian singers and the South African zulu.
