I'm sorry, you must be mistaken. The persons from Toronto you describe represent roller girls, not Roller Derby. Roller Derby and roller girls do not share the same history and heritage. Roller girls have their roots in the Burlesque scene of Austin Texas. We do not consider what the roller girls do to be part of Roller Derby canon. We are not associated with any roller girl groups.

PS. Rollerball was a huge box office hit, and "Whip it!" was a catastrophic failure.

@CanadianRollerDerby you must have mistaken me for someone who thought whip it was any good .. it sucked and so did rollerball.. in my opinion and so did paranormal activity another huge box office hit.. whats your point? who said anything about the movie whip it anyway ?its not even depicting modern flat track womens roller derby. whip it is more like that scripted 70's crap. Its not the roller derby i play our girls are athletes, not at all concerned with the burlesque scene.
