@r3mark4ble We have seen very few quality issues with this helmet in relaion to the number we have sold. Please let us know if you need any assistance having this warranted by Scorpion. Happy to help
After less than a week with this helmet, the plastic cover on the chin vent broke. After less than a month, the helmet started falling apart in the back seams. And I take very good care of my gear. Basically, the design is nice - the pumps work well, and the helmet is comfortable. However, the construction quality is much worse than one would expect from such an expensive helmet.
@motrpt Overall our experience with this model has been pretty solid. We have seen a few problems (small number relative to the amount we have sold) but would say this experience is not the norm. Should be covered by Scorpion Warranty. If you need any help let us know
Bought 1 and it's AWESOME. I wear glasses and the integrated shield fits right over them without issue so I can raise and lower it while riding. Just wish it could be swapped out for a Polarized shield.
ok. But it didn't say it was snell certified. What's the difference between dot, snell, and ECE 22-05? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just new to this and i wanna make sure I'm well protected.
That would depend upon the user I suppose. It vent well, there are others which vent better. The drop down inner shield changes the way the air is moved into the helmet, resulting in less airflow than a standard helmet. A bit of a trade off.
super sick helmet, he's right when he says u gotta see it in person. When i walked in to the shop for my new helmet these were in the back and they still stood out. I tried it on and loved it but they didnt have my size and the cutie sales girl sold me on the Icon Domain 2. that internal visor is badass. damnit!
When not inflated the helmet should still fit snugly (properly). The warranty is 1 year through Scorpion. The air pump is for adjustments, not to make it fit properly
Hey, if the helmet's non-inflated fit is loose, a leaky air bladder (for whatever reason) would render the helmet unusable. Please tell us about warranty!!!
I wish they had better paint jobs on the helmet, I would buy one immediately but I'm stuck on wanting the shoei kagayama or kiyonara, just for looks of course which I know is bad, but I gotta look sweet. :)
I have ridden in both the ICON as well as the EXO1000. I do not feel the ICON is quieter. IMO any well ventilated helmet produces some noise, certain designs more than others. The EXO1000 is one of the best, most versatile street helmets we have seen so far.
For those of you that care, here's what I think... I just picked one up today, I have only used it once and it is LOUD! my cheap ($150 or so) heavy Icon Mainframe helmet is way quieter. I'm a little disappointed that i spent $300+ on such a noisy helmet. pumping up the cheek pads helps but if you have a loud/ naked bike you will need earplugs.
I really liked this helmet but it didn't take long for the plastic liner to fall apart.

Had this helmet for over 2 years now and have ridden about 16,000 miles in it. Here's what I can say about it after 2 years of daily use...
Airflow is poor.
Vents on top broke
Cheakpads work as advertised.
Internal visor is great and I use it a ton. Will make sure all my future helmets have one.
I read the helmet is very heavy, but when wearing it, I don't notice. It's quite comfortable and doesn't feel heavy.
Despite the poor airflow, I would still get one again.

would you say that this helmet is as protective as an arai or shoei? What helmet is the most protective in your opinion? Forget about cost

This is a tough question. I think there are many good ones out there. I do believe the Shark RSR2 may be the one

If you look at the back of the helmet, snell is stamped back there.

More expensive does not mean more protective. A $100 Scorpion exo-400 can be just as protective as a $1000 Arai.
Go with a major brand, and go with what is more comfortable to you.

does the vent works good? because I read alot of review and people said it gets really hot during the summer

Would it solve the loudness problem if you just close the vents??
bratcher71 4 years ago
I think it is loud weather the vents are open or closed. there isn't much difference.
