@hongdekong you use a smart media card. it's basically an older variation of the SD cards of today. best place to find them is ebay. just load your sounds onto them as wav files, plug them into the electribe and load the sounds you want in and away you go.

I just got one for xmas. i don't have the ability to use it right now but i looked it up online. It can't loop beats and guitar riffs??? I thought that was one of the main things a sampler does?

I have an old boss dr 202. is this device merely an upgrade of the boss?

hm actually it should be able to loop guitar riffs.

first, the dr 202 is completely different to the es-1.. they're even made by different companies.

.. you can make/play a loop with almost any sampler - just record the loop, set the start and end points right, then play it back. in the case of the ES-1 the loop can be up to 4 bars long.. add a trigger to the 1st step of the sequence and set the sequencer to 4 bars, then hit play. (make sure you have the bpm set to the same as the loop)

If you wanted to record loops live, overdub, etc. you cant

This is just the kind of sampler I have been looking for so I can get the sounds and fuctions of machines like the 727, and all the old Yamaha and Korg digital drum machines all in one box.

Is the programing on this the same as the programing on an ER-1 or the Roland TR serise? and does it have an shuffle or accent abilities?

The ES-1 is a sampler/sequencer. All the sounds are samples, you can put in what sounds you like. You can tweak pitch, length etc on all samples.

You need to name them with numbers, 00 - 99.
