  • well that was a bit odd! She is so pretty

  • This commercial came out before the DBZ movie. I guess they loved her in Japan even before she was Bulma.

  • Whoops autospell check I meant to say Bulma

  • Bulimia? Christine is a far more interesting character, and probably more well known

  • looks like Starbucks logo.

  • she's forever known as Bulma now.

  • This commercial is pretty stupid. Whoever made it needs to find a job that requires less creativity.

  • i love emmy!

  • This is adorable.:)

  • caffeine alone doesn't put you in a mood like that. cocaine?

  • @joeglimmix Emmy puts me in a mood like that. No caffeine necessary. :o)

  • this is so freaken cute :) lol

  • don't get me wrong, i love emmy, it's just that the commercial was super cheesy. yikes!

  • so 90s!

  • Does the commercial mean to imply that their coffee induces manic episodes?

But I lovvvvveeee Emmy Rossum, so she can do what she wants.

  • Why do stars always do commercials in other countries? We're not going to look down on you for doing one here, really.

  • @SessRin1778 She shot it in the U.S judging by the looks of the people.

    And she's only visiting Japan.

  • She's so cute! I love her.

  • I drink Mr Rainier espresso daily

    but

THIS COMMMERCIAL IS THE MOST ANNOYING COMMERCIAL EVER CREATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I cannot begin to tell you how much people HATE that commercial in Japan. It's idiotic, and runs constantly on CNNj. I'd like to bitchslap each and every one of them, in the name of Jesus!

  • Yeah it's kinda irritating. The camera keeps on shooting at bad angles.

  • @dddJap008 There are no bad angles when Emmy is in the shot!

  • Comment removed

  • even emmy?? and she's not japanese.....where's the japanese??

  • Just now Emmy kinda reminded me a Madhuri Dixit 0:06, I know that sounds crazy lol I don't even know why I said that, but she just does in this part ^_^ !!! and I also thouht she looked like Belle from "beauty and the beast" !!!!

  • But she is far more beautiful than Belle!

  • she sings like belle too....have you heard her sing?

  • Yes I have, she's sounds alot like belle, and she has a great voice ^_^ !!!

  • Emmy is gorgeous

  • sorry to say that guys.. but that chick is fucking hotttt

  • Use her name dipwad. Emmy Rossum. Not 'that chick' >=l

  • Yo dude show some respect. Her name is Emmy not "that chick". But yeah she's fucking gorgeous.

  • lol

    ight dude! will do.

    emmy is fucking gorgeous

  • i love emmy. screw the haters.

  • I second that statement. She is a promising talent, if only she would be given the opportunity to show it. Hopefully, DARE will get a distributor. She is such a sweet person.

  • @duhustink Emmy is grand. This commercial isn't...which is actually the fault of the people who filmed it, not the actress in it. I thought it was supposed to be some kind of home video.

  • haha this is really nice :)

  • She's beautiful!

  • Emmy Rossum charming!

  • its just because of dragonball...

    promoting, right?

    ;)

  • you are asking why she's in this commercial...i don't know maybe because she was paid to do it and that is what she does for her job...?!

  • Why is everyone acting like this is such an odd thing? So many Americans have made Japanese ads. Jodie Foster, Meg Ryan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Michael J. Fox, Angelina Jolie, Harrison Ford, Richard Gere, and many many others have done it.

They usually get paid a fortune, much more than they would in the US for them, and for the most part they aren't seen outside of Asia. This isn't a new concept. The whole plot of Lost in Translation is based on it for the love of god.

  • its odd because theyve never seen it, or the actors in this manner before. how long its been going on really doesnt matter

  • She does have a DB movie coming up and refusing offers from japanese companies might disrespect them. Give the poor gal a break after all she's been through making the commercial. Its not like she has a choice.

  • Well that's actually a great explanation, I haven't thought of that, but it makes perfect sense, publicity!!!!

  • Ouch. Talk about second-hand embarrassment.

  • She has a beautiful smile, and she is a great dancer.

  • if emmy was a real actress who respects her value, she would go on such stupid commercials...

god, she's an opera singer, not a silly model!!

  • She's not an opera singer and never was (as confirmed by Emmy herself).

  • wasnt it her singing in the phantom of the opera?

  • Yes, but POTO is a musical, not an opera.

  • Yes, she is a good singer, just not an opera singer:) (But some opera singers do sing in POTO, like Rebecca Caine) Many stars do go on oversea commercials, such as Angelina Jolie or Gwyneth Paltrow. Although Emmy's status is not as big as theirs. I do think the commercial's silly, but I found other japanese commercials quite silly as well. (Maybe Japanese will think American commercials are silly...who knows) Perhaps Emmy's trying to get her face more known in Japan before Dragonball comes out?

  • well, when ur a star, u have the choice to be a commercial, trashy star or a valuable, true star... it's up to u...

real artists like sarah brightman for example dont do such commercials

  • And Sarah Brightman is how famous now?

  • lol. whatever you say, man.

  • sarah brightman?

    hmmm lets compare shall we?

emmy is branching out, trying new things, expanding her career.

sarah brigtman has remained in the realm of theatrics and symphonic type music.

she never quite left the box.

Emmy is a TV star, movie star, singer, song writer, model, and God only know what else she will become.

    Sarah who?- pssh! please!

  • it was opera music, wasnt it?

  • Actually she used to do opera when she was 7-11 years old. She because proficient and performed with Metropolitan Opera at 7. She has the opera skills and I like her voice better than sarah brightman because it's lighter and less nasally.

  • @BJTDancer: Being in a kid's chorus at the age of 7-11 hardly qualifies as operatically trained! She was inadequate for Phantom. The vast majority of Phans believe that.

  • @LerouxsPhantom You are either talking about the wrong person or you have no taste in music whatsoever. She was a pro by the time she was 11. I hope for your sake you're just uninformed("a kid's chorus"??? The MET? Really...."a kid's chorus".....) Do yourself a favor and listen to some of her music. Start with "Slow Me Down".

  • @alwmusicful: Um, Emmy herself frequently mentions in inteviews that she wthe MET's kid's chorus between ages 7 and 12. All she had to do to get in was sing Happy Birthday! And yes, I've heard Slow Me Down. So what? It's a pop song. Not classical and certainly not operatic.

  • @LerouxsPhantom Check out her Wiki page - she sang Happy Birthday in 12 different keys and was then invited to join the Children's Chorus at 7. Do you think she would have been allowed to sing with Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo if she didn't have the talent to do so? Before you dismiss her Wiki page because it's Wiki, it's also heavily footnoted with sources.

  • @alwmusicful: And don't you think she may have progressed onto being a real opera singer if she had the talent to do so? Or onto Broadway, especially after the Phantom movie (for which her performance got bad reviews for inadequate singing & wooden acting).

  • @LerouxsPhantom I believe she had/has the talent - I don't think it interested her. She's more of an actress. Just my opinion, mind you. You have to admit that not all her reviews were bad, wouldn't you? She was also nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her "wooden" acting. Our opinions just differ - no worries.

  • @LerouxsPhantom That is NOT true.

  • @BJTDancer Actually, her skills are more like those of a choir girl than those of a soloist. She has a nice classical voice and definitely a good background in voice. I wouldn't exactly call it opera skills though. She could never play Carlotta, for example, whereas any actual soprano opera singer would be able to. Oh, and by the way, if you're really into PTO look up the Think of Me sung in Korean. That was the best I've heard it done.

  • @freshpinescents I actually agree with that. As much as I'm in love with Emmy Rossum [from her singing voice to her personality--or what we see of it], she didn't strike me as an opera singer even when she played Christine. She came off as quite weak; safe, feather-weight. Although her voice was appeasing, it wasn't strong enough or skilled enough to play Christine's part...given the opera-standards of this character. Outside of the opera house, I prefer her "Enya" way of singing.

  • @BJTDancer and she blinks

  • um, yea she is genius. see phantom

  • The main actress in this makes really annoying expressions and has, like no rhythm. Why would they cast such a horrible actress?!

  • You look great in this, JaykGallagher! But, wow that Emmy Rossum is majorly embarrassing...

  • I think this ad would be improved with the removal of Emmy's simpering face...

  • don't like her? then don't watch the video you twat.

  • this is one of the silliest commercials i've ever been in!

  • totaly ridiculous. Emmy is great, but the concept is poor.

  • i like her, but not it

  • This is awesome! Lol. Thanks.

  • woow great video where is this advert from
