  • Sadly, Albert is singing this locked up in a mental instition.

  • I sing this to my little boy, he's 6 and a half most nights as part of my little collection of his favourites. I've done this since he was born and it's still one of the songs he likes most. Thanks for posting this.

  • is there a lycris of this song?

  • Excelente cantante.

  • Musically perfect pop. Hats off to sexiest sixties.

  • He's a Traaaainnn!!!!.... Albert Hammond.....

better known for "It Never Rains In Southern California"

  • Estaba marihuano o que jejeje

  • Thanks for translating the name of the song into Spanish - and for writing some of the information about the song and singer in Spanish. Thanks for sharing!!

  • Estará esta canción en castellano?

  • Lo siento, pero Albert Hammond nunca hizo versión española de este gran tema en inglés.

  • Un tema espectacular, lo voy a poner en mis videos ferroviarios jejeje.

  • top 2000!!!!!!!!

  • What does Robert Enke has to do with it?

This song is just a bit of 70s fun.

  • r.i.p robert enke

  • I remember this song from the 70's. My frined and I recorded it off the radio and listened to it for hours. Only the other day I realised the lyrics and googled it !

  • obsessive polyphonia is when you cant get a song out of your head. And for me it's usually this one. Good thing i like it.

  • Once again , thank you! I've had this song in my head for over 30 years. Just love it. and leaves a smile on my face. great memories for me.

  • Is this the original ? I have a copy on PAGE ONE from 1968 recorded by the COLOURS OF LOVE which no one seems to have posted.

  • The song was composed by Albert Hammond for COLORS OF LOVE in 1968, but was successful in 1974 by Albert Hammond on USA in the year 1974 (U.S. # 31).

  • HELL NO.

  • but your not your just a train spotter.

  • ALBERT HAMMOND JR. FTW!!!!

  • If one listens carefully to the lyrics, it's about a train being sent to the scrapyard

  • In truth, :for the very last time!

  • ben trenim

  • Been in love with this song since watching it on Sesame Street when a toddler.

  • Folks, you're absolutely right...Albert H is a god of music...I've been a fan since a little lad (~5 upwards now 40). Free electric band is a key to many memories...

  • Naf!!!

  • so what...

  • Albert Hammond is great!

    I love his songs.

  • lolwut

  • This guy is brilliant! sad to say I am only 20 and can't find any artist of today's pop scene that are even worthy of breathing the same air as Albert

  • well that means you were brought by some great parents.. my one son listens to rap, while the other to head banging music..which is stupid crap. Good music and words are long gone, my friend.that's why I return to the oldies like this..underappreciated, and hardly heard..tis a shame.. Good stuff, Albert...but never forgotten.

  • @tanktilublank I first heard AH at the age of 8-9..My father had all his albums on vinyl and all had the lyrics printed on the inner sleeve or cover. I'm 40 now and still love his acoustic rhythm and upbeat lyrics as if I'd never heard them before....

  • Just such a cool song,He does some great old songs

  • this song is serious genius!

  • this song always makes me happy =)

  • what hell of a Song is this? This is one of the best songs i´ve ever heard..

  • I am a novice guitarist and although this song is hardly surprising 3 notes is the speed with which play the song and also seems twister, either by albert hammond is a good musician this song reminds me when I was still very young 12 years wooow

  • something of the history of this song I am told it is composed of a blind child who heard the train pass and wondered as a train is magnificent, and just carries 3 cancion single chords C D and G

  • nice

  • sounds almost reggae.

  • this is the first time if heard this song it's an awesome i was sitting downstairs i heard this 1 i thought damn that fking cool:D

  • what sort of a genius produces a song like this

  • today was the first time I even heard of this guy. he's awesome, you're right, modern musicians cant compare. he uses a strange G shape chord, with the 3rd on the bottom, not with a G on the bottom...

  • i agree! he'e really outstanding and today it's hard to find musicians like him.

    rockbar

  • Another example that "all" the good musicians are gone. Compare Albert Hammond with current musicians, and you see the difference: Universes!

  • ya but they couldnt write anything better.

  • I love his "Free Electric Band" that was my favourite. Thanks for this super clips. Gracias.

  • why bother putting a translation of the title

    considering

    a)the original is in English

b)this particular video is in English

  • I rememeber this song from when I was a kid. I don't know why "It Never Rains in Southern California" was his big hit that broke him into the top 40 as this was so good and so was "Down By The River". I remember these songs so well.....I love this song.

  • Yes there was clips of real trains. I remember them from when I was a kid. It was either on Sesame Street or Captain Kangaroo.

  • i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE This song espically his Mexican sounding bit at the end :-D lol This song can be found on alot of Alberts Greatest Hits cds

  • Loved this tune by Albert Hammond. Even better than "It Never Rains In Southern California"! Great little tune about trains. Too bad it's not available in too many places. I really had to search to find a digital copy!

  • I believe this is available on the new CD he released in May 2006 - double CD including his Albert Hammond and 99 Miles From L.A. albums, 23 great AH songs I haven't heard since my turntable broke!

  • Great Song by a Great Singer!
