How to use the Gathering Foot

This is very helpful, thanks so much for posting this! I'm wanting to make a very full ruffled skirt, and wasn't sure if this foot was the right choice for what I wanted (it looks so simple, it almost seems impossible it should be able to do this!) and now I can see it's exactly what I need. This will make gathering so much easier :)

Thank you for putting together this video - a friend of mine and will be making 36 yard dancing skirts and rather than gathering the tiers by hand, we both bought gather foots for our machines but haven't a clue how to use them - this straight-forward tutorial will help a lot! :)

So glad I found this one! Was headed out to the store tomorrow to buy elastic thread when I remembered I had purchased a gathering foot quite some time ago but had never learned how to use it. Now that I know I can get those pants done tonight!!
