@AboutMeFamous Dude....Do you have to make a big deal out of that? Nobody's perfect, not even you. Did you know the many, many people make mistakes? I know you were trying to correct him. But still you could have not said '' Yea wow STUPID??'' on it.
I believe with all the footage taken including mine, this is some good stuff and I like the fact that you kept a safe distance. I do this for a living and I've encountered some of the worst storms including this tornado and the Hackleburg/Phil Campbell tornado. I lost friends in these and my advice is to stay out of the way and leave this up to the professionals! I hate to pull any of you guy's body out of the rubble!
Multiple vortex tornadoes have the potential to be like Tuscaloosa or Oklahoma City back in 2000. To have more than one monster on the ground like this is the worst case scenario for weather forecasters. The chasers may like getting the footage on tape, but believe me the real good ones know the danger and carnage they can cause.
This tornado looks like the mythical "medusa" with the accompanying horizontal vortices appearing as snakes on its head. In fact, more than one of the twisters in the 2011 Alabama outbreak (particularly the Tuscaloosa one) had this phenomenon.
'this is so stupid' <-- i totally agree, very stupid remark there. not to mention the fact that you're parking on the side of the highway, which is only supposed to be used in emergencies, and endanger other drivers doing so, while commenting the obvious 'looks like it's breaking up' well duh! if you would have said so i think i'd not have seen that at all.. thank goodness you got eyes for me.
Its hardly unbelievable. This outbreak was predicted days before, with nearly the exact ingredients as the 1974 super outbreak. An unbelievable tornado would be one in Antarctica, somewhere a tornado is highly unlikely to occur. Still a breathtaking video nonetheless. The concentration and strength of the tornadoes that day was remarkable.
Awesome footage, man. I'm glad there are videos like yours. When you watch the TV shows about it they keep cutting away after a few seconds. I'm wondering what in the world is more interesting than watching the actual tornado?! (NOTHING! So keep it on the tornado!) Great job. I know you risked your life for this. Tornadoes are so hypnotizing. I tried to chase them down that day too but never saw anything like what you saw. The tornado hit our house while we were out chasing (nothing too major.)
omg! i think i saw myself pass your truck! i was headed to huntsville from gardendale that day! i remember seeing several cars pulled over, but i didnt remember your truck until this video! freaking awesome
Great footage. When I first got interested in tornadoes as a kid in 1966 (having seen one in '65) there were just a handfull of films of tornadoes. You had to wait for some "special" on TV to see them. Amazing how far things have come. Thanks for posting.
Good thing it jumped the highway. I'm more amazed at how fast that tornado was moving. Lucky, lucky people.

About at .58 sec is where the tornado is at my house. We were blessed with not having any damaged but our friends and neighbors were not so lucky

What's with the trucks passing by?

@OMGITSATORNADO It's a state highway, freight trucks are known to travel on them like a highway.

It's remarkable how similar this looks, at times, the the Tuscaloosa/B-Ham tornado. Crazy inflow tail action. Thanks for sharing!
