  • I am driving an old 2002 E46 M3. That does not matter. BMW's specifications claim at 100kph (62mph) in 6th gear that the E46 M3's RPM = 2500. Maybe BMW is incorrect or just maybe one or both of your gauges are incorrect. In any case, according to BMW when the E46 M3 is in 6th gear with an RPM of 2500 the speed should be 62 mph.

  • Well i have 19's and so does the car in this video, im guessing you have 18's? i maxed my car out at 165 and that was the highest it would let me go on 18's the governor is at 145 so im gussing that its off by 10%

  • The OE rear tires on the 19 inch wheels are 26 inch diameter and make 799 revolutions per mile. The OE rear tires on the 18 inch wheels are 26 inch diameter and make 799 revolutions per mile. So this is not the source of the error. You can check these numbers with BMW, Tire Rack or Michelin.

  • The tire size (or wheel size) affects tachometer rpm and speedometer mph equally. This is because the speed sensor is on the rear differential and the rpm sensor is on the motor. The wheels and tires do not affect the relationship between these 2 gauges. The wheels and the tires affect the relationship between the road and gauges.

  • BMW specifications state the top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph. My speedometer read 163 when the electronic limiter cut in. That is 5%. I have also had my speedometer tested by a mechanic shop that certifies Florida Highway Patrol and other law enforcement vehicles speedometers. My speedometer reads 5% fast at all speeds. This appears to be an intentional adjustment from BMW, probably to avoid liability for speeding tickets.

  • @dfrankmd My E28 does the same thing.

  • NO DRONE @ CRUISE (HIGHWAY: 6TH GEAR 70MPH @ 2500RPM) Check the specifications of the car. 100mph = 4000rpm or 100kph = 2500rpm so 2500rpm is 62 or 62.5 mph. Clutch slipping? Riding the clutch? Bigger tires? Really bad gages? Sloppy work?

  • 6TH GEAR 70MPH @ 2500RPM well on my car it seems right i dunno wat car your driving

  • Me too!

  • sounds waaay better than the regualr raspy exhaust sound. good video
