1983 version is the best. i use to like the 88 version better but the production is too clean. this version dodgy but it could have been worse, especially with all the crap dance music we get today

This is merely a version of a song, not an 'improvement' per se. Lots of artists do remixes and alternate versions of songs, simply pick what works for you. This is an interesting version, perhaps a bit dated sounding, but that is part of its charm.

The original was in '82, the first remix was in '88 and this is the second remix, '95.

Just search Blue Monday followed by each year to hear the others.
