@Keychainlover There was probably a few technical difficulties. Doesn't mean it's closed permanently. All things considered, this attraction has an extremely high uptime.
@InsideUniversal When I went with my friends, they told me they were. But who knows, your right it has been there a looong time and they cant just shut it down.
@roseofluna Yeah me too! lol. I was in an earthquake a few years ago and that was way worse than the one at the backlot. Once you've lived in Southern California long enough, these things don't bother you. XD
I agree with you, I mean why even video the attraction if you're not going to show all of it? Just a waste and the flood is the best part of the attraction IMO.
I remember this set being used recently for a documentary on television...
It was a documentary about the New York bomb scare back in 2006 where Al-Qaeda was planning to blow up the underground tunnels that lead in and out of New York, but the C.I.A. managed to stop them.
They used this set in the documentary to show what would have happened to New York's underground transportation system if the terrorists succeeded.
might be going to universal studios LA in october is it as good as the one in orlando? cause this is a lot of money and i'm coming from the UK. So I dunno which one to choose.
Yeah the fire's real, but it's coming from some gasoline powered thing so it cannot catch on anything, and I went there before lol, it was scary. But yeah, you won't get injured as long as you don't go outside of the ride >_>
By the way, I accidentally removed a user's comment while I was removing some of the spam on this page. If you don't see your comment, sorry. :P Feel free to post it again.
I have actually experienced earthquakes before. You just feel everything shaking around you. You must really be prepared here in California especially because recently there has been alot of activity in the San Andreas Fault so it will probably take abou 2-3 years until the earthquake hits (which it will at LEAST be a magnitude of 12) Have a prepared medical kit with food, clothes, lamps and other goods and stay away from windows.
there's always alot of activity in that fault, there are many everyday, you just dont feel them. But really, a magnatude of at least 12????? i dont believe it...
@SugarCraveMedia not to scary... it could be *fun* if its a little trimmer but just know to get under a doorway or if possable a sturdy counter or even a table.Make sure you have emergancy food
I was on the simpsons ride at universal this past summer during an earthquake. When we got off the ride there was a park announcement "southern california has just suffered a minor earthquake" and they closed down the mummy and terminator 2 for an hour or two for safety inspections.

0.50s I see the sub bass bins in the middle foreground looks like black wide area not very clear but damn it sounds good playing it though my AVR on AUX though the JBL sound system.
I scream everytime I go in, for some reason it scares me. I always cling onto one of my family members. I still enjoy it though, just too loud, my ears are sensitive with this sorta stuff.
lol iwas gona go to universal last week, and seeing this vid makes me not wanna go on this ride.... cuz it looks kinda lame haha no offense to you ofcoarse:)
I wouldn't say it sucks. There are good and bad points about both attractions. In fact, I'll even go as far to say our version is rougher then Florida, thanks to the springs on the tram.
But you can't compare the two with the introduction of Disaster.

@jjjay69 Because you probably would have had a blocked view anyway. Mind as well have stable footage for one side.
But don't worry. Like I mentioned earlier, I'll have a new version coming up soon.
