you actually think game creators in 2008 put in so much detail to the point that if an F1 car was upside down in the game at a certain speed the wings would push it up? umm no. how bout the car looks like its going up but really isn't because they jumped off a ramp that was on a downward slope. the car isn't being pushed up the ground is just going down.

This game is all about physics, so no, the game creators did not bother about cars being upside down, but they made pretty much all the possible calculations of the car forces, that the game itself makes things happen as it was in the real life by any situation. Many people is so much into LFS because of its physics, that are 10x more complicated than any other so called "simulator".

Actually F1 cars on top speeds produce so much downforce that if it went upside down somehow, maybe in a giant tunnel, it would just work. And yes, that is a fact.

Theoreticly it has been proven that a F1 car can drive upside down because of all the 'lift' its creating with its wings.

f1 aero packages run on the Bernoulli principle. think of every wing or canard on the car and if you flip it around the the downforce becomes.. ZOMG upforce like a F#$king jet. and btw if that were a "horizontal shot" it would have simply dropped down from its apex instead of floating around like a you(a fairy)

It makes a bit of sense, becuae if air got on the bottom of the car, it would push it in the direction that the top would be facing. The speed of it would effectivly make it a plane for a bit, so it would go to the ground. Just like a blowover.

What the vid is trying to show is that the car actually flies upwards when upside down, so showing that when the wings get turned upside down they produce lift.

@LanciaS4 Yeah man. When you see the Webber Kovalainen crash at Valencia, Webber's car changes direction mid air. F1 is really the opposite of aviation, as far as aerodynamics go.

actually quite realistic, as soon as it's upside down at those speeds, the downforce (now lift) would probably still be greater than the weight of the car and thus fly for a period of time lol.
