Get these old school, jive time, not caring about these kids teachers outta there. Go sit in your childrens classes and see exactly what these teachers are telling them. I have and boy was I shocked! Teachers say the darndest things. These parents care about their kids. If they didn't they sure wouldn't be getting petitions signed, mobilizing and going against the school board. I'm sure they could be doing other things but they said enough is enough.

There are 46 state prisons in the state of California- 23 more than any other state in this great nation...If you can't read, then you can't write. If you can't write you can't get a job. And guess what no job = a life of crime. It starts now. These kids deserve a quality education. I support the parents of Compton 100%. Anything is better than what's going on now in these failing schools.

well how about this. If te charters don't perform then the charter is no more. But what is the use of passing kids through all of these grades when you know that child can't read! That is a crime! And criminals should be prosecuted. These 9th graders are reading on a 4th grade level. There is no way they will be ble to compete at that rate. Prisons look at the urban failure rate of 4th and 5th grade boys and determine how many jails to build from that statistic alone.

"Parents have had the power all along" - you must be joking. Have you ever tried to fire a bad teacher? Between a third to half of the teachers at McKinley don't belong in front of a classroom but they have jobs their for life. They'll make $4 million+ in their careers off the backs of kids who will leave McKinley not being able to read, write, or compute. These children are hostages! Parents know that they're getting screwed. Let these children go! Let them out of your house of horror!

I see that the parents are trying to make a good change, but yet the parents that are making the "CHANGE" their the ones that don't pay close attention to their kids. Making lies is not an exception. What happens in your students' middle school isn't related with their Elementary. It is caused in one way but their growing up and when your kids begin to have a relationship their minds change. It's not that the elementary school didn't teach them. They simply just don't care about school.

The parents had these power all along. Now the only missing ingredient is to get the parents and the teachers to work cooperatively with each other. I feel that the parents must get other parents involved to work cooperatively with schools. Schools are use to just seeing a few parents get involved while the larger group of parents to nothing to change the course of education.

This is so funny! All these parents are now intrested in there kids education, but when the school does activities so parents and students get involved there no where to be seen but as soon as a camara is present there the first ones giving interviews about how much they care about their kids education.

I agree that parents have had the power to make this change all along but unfortunately most of the parents in that district refused to get involved! At my child's school you can't get parents to do anything other than drop off their children and pick them up. Parents want a quick fix that involves other people taking the responsibility for their children. With that being said, overall, the students in that district are receiving a low quality education and something has to change!

6 years ago the principal tryed to do away with the Halloween parade to focus on a quality education, but the parents complained and campaigned in favor of the parade.

How dare you complain if you refuse to participate in the School Site Council, DELAC, DAC or even the PTA? The power you have had, but you have rejected it. You don't need those liars of Parent Revolution, you need to be commited with your child's school.

Poor deceived parents:

The school has shown tremendous improvement; in the past 3 years the school's API went from the low 500's to 684.

Parents don't know that Celerity can actually discriminate against students. If your child is in Special Ed, your child will be rejected.

Cabaoung's teachers kept complaining that her mother never showed any commitment. Never showed up to teacher conferences.

How dare these parents complain about the school and asking for this power. The school has spent the last 6 years trying to recruit parents to help out at the school and none of the parents in this video ever volunteered or helped in any way. During parent conferences only 20%of the parents, at most show up, but on Halloween all parents show up.
