I'm thinking...something like perfluorohexane in a giant forcefield of some kind, which you can pass in and out of ^_^ I don't know...but crazy as it sounds, i don't think it is (or will be) impossible to build, just very power intensive - would be fun though lol I don't much care for football but blitzball would be loads more interesting :D

They actually explain later in game the breathing stuff. They are just trained to hold it for very very very long. So the part in the game where you need to go underwater to do something thats going to take long only 3 character can do it, the 2 blitzball player and Rikku cause she got a underwater breathing suit.

@Ensirum it's not that luca has nothing, Zanarkand was a machina city so they used machina to make the water bubble where as luca believes in Yevon, so they dont use machina. they just fill it up. ...atleast thats what i think! :)

Impossible, yes - but this is Final Fantasy, where people can jump a million feet into the air and pounce on a single target with unerring precision.
