  • I was so lucky being 16 in '88 just started college in london, and was workin for my uncle up Soho so was right in the middle of i for the 1st summer of love!!

So many magical times at Spectrum, shoom, KGB do's, limelight, Astoria, and the larger raves that followed in '89.

Viva the longest summer of love, which for some of us has never finished.

Just wish the kids now could experience what we did, there might not be so much shit happenin in this beautiful city called London

  • ACIEEED!

  • ...in the UK you couldn't move your feet to dance.

Meanwhile, in the US, you moved your feet, especially doing flips (yes, I did backflips on the dancefloor)and such-until the dance floor got packed.

  • 88-89...those years were amazing.....House will never die...

  • @yankessnperu helter skelter 1989 brillant

  • DId anyone else notice that the Acid House phenom detonated when The Face weren't around to cover it? ;)

  • Energy, Sunrise, Shoom...... R.I.P - no scene since has come even close to the vibe that existed back in the summer of love. God - thank you for letting me be part of the whole experience.

  • @synergy365 yes completely agree to be young and live a few miles from the M25 in 1988/89 was about as good as it gets - maybe to be famous and be around London in the mid-late 60s was pretty good but you had to be famous this was a mass movement that everyone from 16-25 (and old if you wanted!) could be into.

And 1988 was even better than 1989 the best of the best because it was new to everyone and no-one was cynical or jaded.

  • @ancientraver19881989 words of wisdom ancient raver!!.. thoroughly jealous but proud to kno my mum n dad used to get heavily involved in that era.. raves i go to now are good but cant imagine how sik ther were bk then.. the shadyness of it being illegal an e'z were new to the scene.. i kno i would of loved it..

  • Wayne Hemmingway Fuck Off you little twerp!

  • Man id pay good money to have all of the Energy and Sunrise etc etc tapes remastered like that , Mine are no where near as clear as that , they should get them out there. The cips must of come from the masters they are superb.

  • "We call it ACIIIIIIEEEEDD!!" "You hear it in Future, Shoom, and SpekTRUM!" Too proper!! Respect for posting this, we value our own history and this preserves the memory of our culture! Everyone share :)

  • ahhh D-mob this is Aceeedddd 5.00

  • In NYC, being a hot Graffiti artist meant being on any guest list for the top underground clubs. In fact, I can remember so many times when we just finished painting, would be around 2.30 in the AM, and we'd approach the bouncers, with quite a que looking at the painted lot of us, respirators hanging off our necks, they'd smile, lift the rope and we were IN. Now that was NYC in the 80's man.

  • @A1R5N1P3R sounds superb would have loved to have bn in NYC in the 80s but scotland felt this shockwave aswel acid house great thanx for post
