If these women would stop their silly envy of men they would realize the men really aren't treated so well and forcing them to wear a skullcap and pray 3 times a day which are only custom's and if not they persecute the men. In stead they want to imitate the men and of course they don't wear it all the time like the men do. SO this is just classic envy behavior which leads to irrational behavior which is why it is one of the 10 commandments.
Kol Isha is a custom. This is just silly though. These women are really ruled by their most base envy of men. I really hope these women are not married or have children as they will clearly abuse their son's and husbands and also mistreat their girls that should try to focus on doing everything a boy can do. Maybe these girls were raised by mothers like this and they are continuing the cycle. It if funny they use Rabbi's when it fits their man hating agenda.
Why wear teffillin or talit? If you are reform the oral Torah is does not count. The knowledge we have of how to make tefilin is written in the oral torah namely the talmud. That same torah instructs us of what how woman should conduct herself in private or in public. When these women of the kotel tell you they come from a movement that has total direspect to the teachings of the torah (i.e not keeping kosher, performing same sex marrige and .....) one needs to question their intentions.
When at the wall, we women should just stand together and pray. We shouldn't try to be like the men and wear a tallis and go on their side etc. We women should just stick to praying together. You can go to a liberal synagogue and do what you want. But at the wall, we should respect traditional prayer.
@stars1836 Shame, shame, shame! They are not being like the men! Women are commanded to wear Tzitzit, there is even a debate about weather a woman needs to say the Brakha before putting on the arba kanfot or not! My sister you are deceived by men!
One of the "rabbis" in this video said that women do this to get closee to g-d and jewish tradition. The torah clearly says what women are supposed to do to get close to him. They dont even cover their here.
Is there anything more spiritually and intellectually DISHONEST than declaring one position, one understanding of Torah and God's will as being more authentic than any other?
As a proud Egalitarian orthodox man in canada, I send a Message of love, respect and Blessing to my Righteous sisters in Ha'aretz who are serving Hashem with all there Heart, Soul and Being! Kol Ha Kavod! as we read in the Mishnah, if it was not for the sake of the Righteous women of Israel we would not have been saved! Rafstergrant, need I remind you that Hillel was involved in a debate weather women are required to say the B'racha before putting on Tzitzyot in the morning?! You're an Idiot!!
u dont cover your hair, and u say things like "we want our voices to be heard with everybody elses" UR PRAYERS ARE HEARD EVERYWHERE , respect g-ds law and he will listen to you
idiots, none of you are a rabbis, and you can have a relationship with god without putting on traditional mens taleisim, breaking up traditions older and wiser than you wil ever be
These so called "Frum Jews", really are not Frum at all! I have stated many facts pertaining to women on the Bimah, women and Tzitziyot and womens voices in the Shul! I am now going to comment on a Kol Isha; Man says that it is improper for a womens voice to be heard on the Bimah infront of men, well on the other hand it is OK for them to give a lecture outside of the Sanctury. well if mens minds are really that dirty than they should not be in shul to begin with! This is just one man's view!
The prohibition against Kol Isha is debated in the gemara, and the gemara's source is in Ketuvim. If a man is sensitive to the beauty of a woman, this does not make him "dirty". Even if he was "dirty minded", we are all far from perfect. Many imperfect men need shul the most, ironically they are the ones promiscuously chasing women.
The gemara is not Torah? The prohibition of kol isha is absolutely Torah. Try Brachos 24a. Google "kol isha" and find koltorah dot com. I know many lapsed Orthodox Jews. They do not claim Reform or Conservative to be true. They just say "they are not holding on that level". Distorting the true tradition with pseudointellectual nonsense is merely intellectual dishonesty. Anyone that knows anything about Judaism knows Reform is Assimilatory nonsense for pseudointellectuals
First of all, I applaud your struggle. To name a few difficulties...How do you know how to make and wear tefillin without an Oral Law? How do you know to use a lunar or solar calendar to count months? When the Torah forbids work on the Sabbath, what is work? Circumcision? Tzitzis? How is anything done without an Oral Law? What is a Sukkah/Booth? How do we make the Sukkah? Without an oral explanation of the details, it is impossible to know what the Torah truly means.
Because in the Muslim World, women get killed for driving in some countries (Saudi). The literacy rate for women is less than 50% in Muslim countries.
