@darnsmall Yeah. I've always been into shooting pictures without distracting people from their natural character/mood. I've become more open about telling though, if its for a specific portrait I want to capture. It can be fun to direct people, they can feel more comfortable that way. Telling them not to smile can be a good tip.

hahahahaha I have the 7D too and I use it most of the time to record not for pictures and it is so funny when you see the videos, the people waiting for the pic...and you have to say them......eemmm this is a video, I am not shooting for pictures :P

Is this a wind up, the canon 7d's high definition video is of the highest of standards and knocks absolute spots off just about everything out there at the moment and that is why film makers and tv programs are using them and the 5d mark 2.

The quality the 7d and 5d give is only matched by the very very expensive movie cameras used in films and tv programs so there fore the price is very cheep for a 7d or 5d mark 2.

But hey!, if you can shoot video with a "G12" that looks better than what a 7D can do, I have just GOT to see it posted here, especially any footage done at night or in low light. Sigma 30 1.4 is cheap-ish, should be less than 400€

your're a luky guy cause this party is quite brightly. a lotta lamps ensure a good light to take video of that bright quality. Parties where I used to be usally it is much darker me thinks. I took lots of shoots in a party situation and mostly there where may strobo or candle light may backround lighting or somethin. I think the pictures will not that brilliant if the lighting was not that is was.

I love the Aperture. And the colours and sharpness is amazing, it's all so vivid and amazing! Apparently there are some problems with this camera in terms of distortion when there are fast moving objects in a scene. But yeah, great video. It's really nice to watch. Also, that ragdoll jackass video was awesome. The digital camera work was great. Awesome work, I'm subscribed :D

I like it. The manual focus kind of makes it feel like it was a crazy party and everyone was having a great time & getting a little drunk. How did you do your slow motion stuff? Did you shoot in 720P 60fps, move the video into a 30fps time frame and then slow it down by 50%?

Nicely set to music, did you study film making? I very much get the vibe of this party. You did a great job. Can you fix the white balance in some of the scenes in post production? Not sure about the the last bit of music, but I'm checking out wiseguys on Itunes and can't find it. I am not ready to do this with my 7d. (I thought smoking is no longer allowed in Europe, It's so gross)
