I think Walter Ray handled this really well. He pretty much threw a picture-perfect shot that would have struck 99 times out of 100, and it more than likely cost him $100,000. I guarantee you most other bowlers would have reacted much more inappropriately.

the reason why he handled this well is because he's a PROFESSIONAL. its not like his life depends on throwing a 300 every time he steps onto a lane. maybe YOU would get mad, but walter is probably 1,000 times more the bowler than you are, physically and mentally.

Back in 2000, we were bowling in high school for the section 3 championship. It was a brutal season with 3 winds, 8, losses, and a tie. The championship game was brutal. Our computer didn't work, and we had to play 6 games with 5 people per team. The last game, my teammate bowled a 300. We won the chamiponship.

Solid 8's suck. But with the increasing power of today's bowling balls, plus the fact that people think huge power and hooking potential must equal a good ball reaction, the solid 9 seems to be more prevalent as too large an entry angle and strong balls results in the ball not deflecting and thus passing the 9 pin instead of taking it out.
