The "Unstoppable" sweep at the 2009 IBJJF Nationals

Its a de la riva guard sweep. Plenty of videos out there on it.

Incorrect, this sweep is entirely different. If you take at look at his legs, there is no "de la riva" hook whatsoever.

Any legit move is unstoppable if done fast enough with proper technique. Marcelo has proved that with his arm drag, RNC combo. Nice sweep though

So he has the guy's ankle triangled, and sweeps with his shin behind the knee, but what is going on with the arms? Can any one explain this one to me?

@skippy563 a strong 2 on 1 grip on the sweeping side should do it, but i like to grab high on the collar with the cross arm and sleeve grip on the same side, takes you to a good knee on belly if it's tight enough.

i do similar thing from a deep half guard were ill trap leg and same side arm and start rolling till im on top.

@daz45 : From this angle it doesn't look pretty, but it's completely different from any other sweep, and very hard to stop (hence the name)... Nothing "poor" about it.

i love this sweep. it is a great starting position if you like to jump half guard. i transition back and forth between this and x guard a lot.
