  • Hey can you upgrade the battery to get longer flight times? Thanks

  • @David15206 Yes you can upgrade the battery but you might have to make some room for the bigger battery and it might throw off the CG for the plane.

  • Would you recommend this for beginners?

  • @Crazylegs973 I wouldn't recommend the plane for a beginner, check out the high wing trainers first and then go from there.

  • I like the different paint scheme idea. Especially the Miss America. I too have a suggestion for this. I know some of the manufactures make a Dago Red paint scheme. But what would really make that airframe even more attractive would be to put the slick racing canopy on it and clip the wings a little bit and dont offer it with external fuel tanks. Reno Air Racers dont have drop tanks.

  • Hey Tony,

Does Airfield have any plans to release this P-51 in the "Miss America: Paint Scheme?

  • @Buckeye104 At the moment no, but I will make a note of it and see if we can get them made in the paint scheme.

  • the day nitroplanes make a fiberglass f35 is the day ill buy a rc plane

  • Thank you

  • What were those popping noises

  • @MrKenblockfan The field that we fly has a rifle range next to it so the popping your hearing is from the range over the wall.

  • Well done, Tony. Cheers

  • can u fly this with 2 blades instead of 4

  • @andyjabben Yes, if you buy dedicated 2 blade prop, please dont remove 2 blades from the 4, i did that and it ended badly!!.

  • NitroPlanes good good company and products!! I have order several planes from them and is awesome, no problems!!! Never going back to Banana Hobby too many bad experiences and no support... NitroPlanes rock on!!!!

  • I saw this thing in real today FLYING! It was awesome!!! The sound is really amazing!

  • can this do basic aerobatics?

  • @flyboy83297 it is a warbird, and they usually do basic aerobatics just fine. I have the P-47 and it flies on a very similar setup, it has plenty of power to do any non-3D aerobatics you can think of. (I don't know about snap rolls I don't know how to do those) But you should be fine for stall turns, inverted flying, loops, rolls, and climbouts.

  • @flyboy83297 if you have got alot of experience then yes, with good prevailing tail wind, not the fastest warbird i have ever flown.

  • Wow, I wish you guys had not got rid of the older guy Jeff, he was so easy to understand and follow. Our club misses his tutorials. : (

  • Is it ever not windy when they do a review? Where is that?

  • @177todd california

  • your cute

  • There are different paint jobs I am seeing in the RTF version of this plane.....from what I can see the specs seem the same, can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

  • Hey Tony, would you recommend this as a 2nd plane? I am stepping up from a parkzone ultra micro T-28 so I have aileron experience and I feel like the larger size of this aircraft would give me more stability particularly against wind. I am up to the challenge of a taildragger. Also would you recommend a sim?

  • @gruntythirst77 Go with the 800mm version of this plane first. Those can really take a beating and be fixed in minutes if there is a large break with some good hot glue. It's what I did. The 800mm series of the planes are very high quality for their price and do great in the wind. Sim's are a waste of money btw.

  • @loolooblah A good sim is not a waist of money. I spent a lot of time on mine and the first time I flew my mustang, I had no problems and landed successfully. The sim taught me a lot of responsive techniques and muscle memory in countering tip stalling, landing, crosswinds, flying towards me, etc, etc. When I flew my Mustang, I didn't have to think about anything which allowed me to enjoy the moment. It was my third (and first successful) rc flight in my entire life.

  • hey nitroplanes guy, i'm trying to find myself a cheap 6ch transmitter and receiver... i have already a cheap 4ch airfield transmitter and it works for what i need.

do you sell these 6channel ones in its "spare parts" or compatible items? even when this plane itself is sold out?

i'm just looking for a 2.4ghz transmitter like the airfield cheapo ones. i just need them for some experimenting. Thanks if you reply :)

  • very nice scale less then 2kg, a little too light.......

  • less then 2kg, a little too light.......

  • Would you reccomend this plane for intermediate fliers?

  • Can't wait for mine to get here.. one more week. Ready by Christmas!

  • is this a fomie or is it balsa???

  • whats the batt configuration? 3s or 4s? hows the power to weight ratio? im very interested in this aircraft! ill be using a spektrum dx6i

  • Hey Tony is there a vid of the mustang "stinky" I have been thinking about that plane but I want to see it fly first.

  • can you land this on grass with out the wheels down

  • tail heavy

  • This plane it is very durable for its size. A low time fliers at nitro planes had a minor accident and spun the model into a chain link fence at the field. Damage was very minor and was limited to leading edge and a bit of paint. If the plane was made from balsa, the wing would have been history. Tony doesn't have time to do this, but in my opinion, the P-51 is a good flier, but experienced fliers would benefit from experimenting with different props/motor/battery to get more power.

  • Will you offer plug and play that bind to spectrum radios? Thanks

  • this one seems to be alot less stable than the red one. maybe it was just the wind.

  • hey tony i have this plane and i suggest you put a two blade 16 x 8 prop on it i believe i can get it to go about 80mph in a dead wind and by the way i wish you guys could help me get my landing gear with retracts because i broke one i've talked to you guys before but you said it was out of stock at airfield, i was wondering if i could purchase it as if it was on back order so i could just recieve an email once its in stock and shipped to me so i don't have to worry about it

  • Does the tail wheel steer with rudder input, or is it fixed?

  • have 1 coming in thursday, cant wait..... a buddy bought it for my b-day its gonna be sweet

  • hay tony are these kind of planes like p-51s easy to fly?

  • I like the war birds and the P51 is my favorite, Perhaps with enough practice I can get one and actually fly it

  • can i got a link so i can buy this specific plane

  • anyone know where this airfield is located?? Can someone send me a msg

  • @84Andru

It's Located near 605 and 60 freeway don't member the exit name, but not to far from Montebelo

  • I just canceled my order for V1 which was on back order and ordered V2. Bummed that the tailwheel is no longer retract ready, but I hope the reinforced wings make my experience that much better.

  • Do you have radio ready version. You know like Bind and fly. I already have 3 transmitters I don't need another one.

  • Comment removed

  • @mailtopravit we do offer it in a ARF package, with no transmitter, receiver, or battery.

We will try to offer bind and fly packages in the future :)

  • @nitroplanes is that the one that is $209? Also what size motor?

  • @rg26100 incase you did not see, In the Description theres a link to the ARF and KIT verson, Im sure you can find all the answers to your questions there.

  • I'm planing on getting the kit version and put in my own electronics. I would use Hitec metal gear servos for the retracts so I won't have any problems.

Anyone here use Scorpion motors? What kind of Scorpion motor model is good for this plane?

  • Don't know but personally when it runs on gas it's a hobby, when it's electric its a toy.

  • @myironlungca Wow your so hard core! What an unintelligent comment. I fly gas and elecrtic and guess what "flying" is my hobby not whats under the "hood". I hate people like you that downplay or hate on the people who prefer electric at the field. I dont think Im better at the field when I fly gas but your one of the rednecks that do Im sure. You can collect rocks and call it a hobby idiot.

  • The version 1 has a tail wheel that turns and as for the wing flex it isn't that bad has a re-enforced rod through the fuselage. if you are going to buy something get blades as they aren't in stock i bought a kit to get them go figure. hope they did something with the landing gear.

  • have you tried flyn that with a camera mounted underneath?

  • One of my Buddies just got the Red one about, err 2 weeks ago, His first flight was a failure and ended in the ground. It was bad, I got to test fly it for the First flight and it was amazing. I'm thinking of picking up this kit when I get some money.

  • id like to see a video after you remove 2 of the prop blades like you mentioned so we can see the difference ;0)

  • I couldn't tell, does this have steerable tail wheel?

  • that wings got alot of flex in it.

  • do you guys intend on making a zero with the same features? I've been looking everywhere for a nice, scale, rtf zero, but can't find one anywhere!

  • Is it just me or does everone see the wing flexing like crazy out of high speed turns.? Why not just go the extra mile and pt a carbon spar?

  • @blackcarreraGT lol yea. You should see my artech mustang, when i do full speed turns and what not those wings flex like 20 degrees! Im gonna have to get a new wings soon lol!

  • Another awesome plane!!!!!!

  • Very nice Tony but i like the red version better plus your right the retract back tail dragger is better on the older version too but this is still a sweet P-51 with out any doubt ;-) so thumbs up mate.

  • I needed a new camera and found a superb digital camera that is made for Youtube videos exclusively. Small time unknown people like me are apparently useless......... : (

  • @Jefferydonkeith don't get me wrong, I have too much time on my hands and want to help out more......too many Chiefs and not enough Indians there are holding me back.

  • @Jefferydonkeith I DIDN"T WROTE THESE! My friend, a strong supporter, got on my pc while I was outside and posted those 2 comments and I CANT remove them !!!!

  • @Jefferydonkeith I MEAN I DIDNT WRITE THOSE !

  • wow, pretty strong wind

  • Hey how do you become a model tester for Nitroplanes, Nitrorcx etc.

  • Very nice model

  • Looks pretty nice. At fist it looked underpowered but seems no problem.

Lotsa wind. Sounds like you already use a wind shield but maybe apply a high-pass filter, too?

  • hey what do you guys use as your camra its realy good :D

  • hello tony i would like to say that i think your videos would be better if you narrate what you do like go here we are going to do a full speed run.. or we aare going to do loop... i would think it would be better

  • nice plane there

  • I suppose if I had retracts I would be playing with them in the air too, so no complaints there... ahahaha!

  • Does any bay have an opinion on if this is a good intermediate plane, because the speed looks manageable.

  • pretty cool plane. If I hadn't spent all my money on FPV gear, I would get one of these...or the P40

  • Damn. I'd love to have one of those and a P-40. :D

  • 0:55 UFO scanned the plane with a drone

  • Does this plane come with the motor, servos, radio, retracts, etc. What all comes with this kit? And where to get it?

  • @UtRadioGuy We have a RTF version, but its sold out at the moment. The kit version has no Electronics, but do come with the Retracts

  • @nitroplanes why are you guys always sold out? Everytime I go to your site the ones I want to buy are always sold out, your post above was 3months ago, and this V2 of the P-51 is STILL not in stock? I have contacted you guys before, and always say 3-4 weeks but when I inquire during that time frame, still nothing...

  • @UtRadioGuy link in the sub bar

  • @UtRadioGuy get it at nitroplanes as far as the kit has no electronics the reciver ready way to go. or RTF

  • Ya, the 4 blade prop really adds to nice scale effect.

  • wow...that looks and sounds great...top review

  • Man thats a pretty bird.

  • u hav the most amazing job. i wish i had that job.

  • dam that is pretty big

  • @hermitcrabstuff34 That's what she said

  • nice looking aircraft!

  • pretty quick retracts!

  • 4 blade prop looks really cool
