This manifesto is an inspiring burst of light in what can only be seen as a dismal cultural wasteland, particularly in the fine arts of our age. Rather than feeding off nihilism and horror as do his contemporaries, Michael Newberry has created a body of work that is beyond beautiful: it is courageous, life-affirming, and _virtuous_.
jc, observing real life is only one part of art making--the subconscious is a part as well. I think you will agree the most difficult part in art is integrating all the aspects--just focusing on one or another part is really missing the boat.
creating art by copying real life will only take you so far, the ideas in your head are much harder to paint because the idea constantly changes and putting it on paper is hard, but once the process begins the story will reveal its self, then the hardest of all to paint from the subconsious mind and focusing the thought to mean some thing.
Great Art.

Awesome, wise and inspiring. Focus on the good, don't delude yourself by not recognizing the bad. You are an inspiration.
