Range on panth and TF cast range of ult is not global. It's only from spawn to edge of base, from edge of base to mid, from mid to next edge of base, and from there to other spawn. Pan globals now.

It's still really easy to pull off something like this. Just have 2 AD carries and make sure either one is TF he's at least on your team. Give him wards, the AD carry(carries) TP and then have TF ult into the enemy base. I backdoored an enemy nexus by myself (in a draft pick) as TF and killed it in the 2nd assault (did it once, got nexus to under half then died, then did it again and won the match).

I remember when TF had his global teleport. We had cheese matches where we would teleport to the brush mid lane in Top/Bottom on the enemy team.

TF would gate there, drop a ward and the whole team teleports there and get 2 free kills. Go B and return to lane.

@NewDrekSilver Basicly Pantheon and Twisted fate (the spartan dude and the guy with the cards) used to have a global ultimate which made them capable of transporting some place all over the map fast. it was useful for backdooring, ganking and so on. that is gone now since the ultimates has been nerfed so they cant teleport all over the map anymore.
