@poisonpushpop thanks for asking that very good question! the ideas in these videos *do* still apply, because the standardized nature of the SAT means that it hasn't changed in any important way since the current version was introduced in 2005. it's very important to understand that the design of the test can't change--that's what makes it a 'standardized' test and makes the results valid for colleges. here's an article: (three w's) (dot)testingiseasy(dot)com/tests-dont-change-every-year/
Hello, I was just wondering something. I am taking the ssat (not the sat) and was just curious if there were many similarities between how each test is graded because a lot less people take the ssat.
@doowder101 The SSAT essay isn't graded, so it's a different situation, really. The people at the schools you apply to can use your SSAT essay any way they see fit (or they can ignore it completely), so there's no set of universal standards we can try to follow in writing the SSAT essay.
Wow! Thanx a ton. I always wondered how ppl can write 12 essays in only 25 mins. I write great essays (one of my fortes) but I need time. So SAT essays works against me =( But after seeing you videos, I think i can pull a 12 out of my ass. thanx again
@popstoastymonkey Hi! Most of it's pretty similar. The major differences are (1) the ACT doesn't have a page limit, (2) ACT questions tend to be practical (as opposed to the 'philosophical' questions on the SAT), and (3) the ACT rewards you for considering counter-arguments, while the SAT seems not to.
im finding it hard to believe that his prep courses are real. I mean...i dont know wether to trust this guy in giving me good Sat prep stuff...because he is charging a lot of money for them.
i think my course is actually less expensive than similar options. a live class from a traditional company costs a lot more; if you hire a traditional tutor at the standard rate of $50/hour, you'll end up spending a lot more money than the cost of my course for the same amount of instructional time. and this doesn't even take into account the fact that my approach is, frankly, a lot better, or that my students have unlimited direct access to me through the forum area of my course.
while i don't post most of my SAT strategies on youtube, the intention was always to make the essay stuff free (please see my response to 165flo below).
sorry about that--I couldn't put part 2 up before because it was almost 15 minutes long. now that youtube allows videos that long, it's on here. for some reason it won't let me post the link, but if you look in my videos you'll see it. also, part 2 was always available for free to people who checked out my site at my acethesat site. sorry for any frustration this might have caused.
I noticed that this video is pretty old, do these examples still apply?

you mentioned that CR part and Math part are not as it is in reality as well. What is the way of cracking them then? Can you advise me?

Do you know how closely what you say in these 3 videos about the SAT essay correspond to the ACT essay?

@PaKAssAssiN94 Hi! I have no way of knowing, as I'm not sure exactly how PR grades its practice SAT. Sorry about that--
