FANTASTIC work! I consider this to be one of the most important oral interview documentation for Laos people. It helps explain the negative impacts of war on humanity as a whole. (1 of 4)
Most importantly, this documentation explains the extreme and unusual hardships that we and our parents have had to endure after the war. For examples, adapting to the new country way of life, overcoming all sorts of challenges, dealing with stress and depressions, fitting into the new society, etc.... I pray that all Laos people see this oral interview documentation to better understand why our Laos’ community is so fragmented and the importance of unity. (2 of 4)
I believe, rather than taking our anger and frustration out on each others, our parents rather see us channel our energies into educating ourselves and polishing our culture/community as one entity. I understand we need money to do all of the above, so I recommend borrowing if you must. Think of it as a long-term investment to better our lives and culture/community. The ultimate goal here is to reach your dream(s) AT ALL COSTS. Most importantly is to be happy while chasing our dream(s). (3 of 4)
The war is over for now, so we must not remain in the past. We’re the future. New challenges await us right now and the future. Let us all seek a profession, any profession, and seek the highest education humanly possible in our chosen profession in order to become the very best in what we do. Let us all declare to the world that Laos people are the BEST in the world no matter what happens to us. It’s our parents and grand-parents last and dying wishes to us—it must come true. (4 of 4)
I hope, all Laos, Lao communists included, who watch this pieace of history, need to remember how destructive in-house fighting can be! Only, others will gain from your down fall, as history has shown, French, chinese, vietnam, and siam, had exploited laos to limits!! Laos wiil continue to be fractured country, spiritually, culturely, and loyalty to other countries, but not to their own!!!
