@joe80dman Pretty funny that people thumb-downed this video. Some people are such drones that they will support any spending bill no matter how little merit.
@Protege385 : True. Whether they've been overly indoctrinated while in government schools, or are dependent upon the government for their livelihoods, the average citizen is doomed for a lack of knowledge.
At this rate the only people with jobs will be government employees! As this man said, the costs either come from borrowing (debt), or the private sector. The private sector is GONE, they're in China, so we continue to borrow to fund the public sector! The Empire is crashing!
Under Bush we lost freedoms we'll never see again and this dork is crying about no title on a bill. Private sector is starving? the numbers are in, rich people all made more money this year, somebody educate this simpleton. Bush let all those wealthy "folks" like: politicians, wall street, oil, big banks, gun companies, drug companies, insurance etc. get away with not paying taxes even while bringing in huge profits. They didn't help the debt or jobs and these crooks want to skip taxes again!.
@CandJCuesta : This is NOT a party issue. Bush, and Obama, follow marching orders from powerful internationalists. Our voices are meaningless. The only job the government-media complex does is to keep the masses brainwashed while they continually starve us out, and steal our rights.
You're right, they should force the bill to have a name and stop the grant money from reaching teachers for which the bill is aimed at. The article you reference even states it was a technical mistake. You make it sound like they are trying to hide something. Typical.
I think if we spend just a couple hundred more billion on public education we'll all become genuises. This is nothing more than an NEA power-play . A crock, a bill worthy of no name, who the hades would want to remember it?
dear how the world works guy, i think you must be a corporate big wig that is lying to the people. you are using lies to promote an agenda that denies that obama's administration is the most transparent in history. they put their proposals on the internet for months in advance, so the public has a chance to read them before congress rams-err-passes the bill to the prez. you must be a racist. SARCASM.
@USAGymnast Its an attempt at freedom of opportunity, so those who do want to work can work because they have an education. According to your view point though the rich should get richer and the poor poorer. Look at your history book and tell me how well that has worked in the past.
Firstly, you suggest that by throwing money at a school, it somehow miraculously creates successful students. A brief Google search will tell you that is certainly not the case...especially in leftist epicenters like Detroit and Cleveland.
Handing people, what you define as "opportunity",does nothing but continue their dependence on the system. With proper documentation, any poor child who applies his/herself, can receive all forms of federal grants, and financial aid for college
@Banshee409 No I said its an attempt at freedom of opportunity. I don't agree with the idea that was suggested for the reasons that have been said such as not all schools are the same, but I do believe that we should attempt to better our schools in order to educate the public. In a system where your born at a disadvantage if you don't have money I don't think its fair to deny them good schooling as well. Yes money for college, but how do they get there if they never had a good teacher?
@USAGymnast i am not saying i want all your money, i am sure you worked very hard for it
what i am saying is, instead of only funding schools from tax raised in the area the school is, why not share all the school funding evenly across the usa? that way the rich kids who go to public school will have the same level of education as the poor kids, which means more people can get better jobs which means you dont have to pay as much in tax in the future
@BGDPPL Because schooling is not a one-size-fits-all. Giving a million bucks to a New York school and a million bucks to a Texas school would not result in identical schools, because the people actually in there dealing with the money would have different priorities.
The Feds are also incapable of knowing the needs of the thousands of school systems throughout the States, and it would be wasteful to give to places that already have the money for good school systems.
@MEIZimm clearly it wouldnt make every school the same, but it is much better than the current system where a school is only funded by the money raised in its area
this method means rich kids from a rich area get great educations which keep them rich, while poor kids from poor areas get bad educations which keeps them poor
yes it would be hard to put in place, all big changes are, but with this method every person in usa gets the most equal start possible, which is the true free market aproach
@BGDPPL the problem with that is , kids in poor areas are less likely to want to learn, why throw money at kids who will only disrupt class and prevent learning for those who really do want to learn.
look at what bussing does, wastes money to buss kids to great schools only to bring down the overall quality of learning by bringing violence and drugs to an otherwise good and safe school. the onjly way to make children learn is to make the parents participate in their childs learning.
@whitemanwaydownsouth do you not want to find out why kids on poor areas are less likely to want to learn?
instead of just saying, no i dont think we want any of the poor folk round here, why not say, hey we are giving you the exact same chance in life as the rich kids so go out there are work your ass off
help to promote hard work by giving people a chance, dont just slam all poor people down just because of a few bad apples
@BGDPPL they do not have the same opportunities in life, partially because of their parents' limited resources and in some cases the parents lack of interest in their childrens education, lack of responsible decision making and refusal to conform based on unfounded feelings of entitlement and victimization. the door is not slammed, if anything middle class children are being ignored because of all the special attention and social programs for low income students.
@whitemanwaydownsouth yes they dont have the same opportunities in life, the fact they dont have the same money as the rich families makes that clear, but by giving poor kids the same education as the rich kids you are giving them one clear chance, and that chance is something so many kids just do not have right now
make it clear how important education is, that this is their chance to grow and become better than their parents, that should be the dream of every kid, lets give them that chance
@BGDPPL thye are given the same education, some choose to squander that. like i said, until you know how it is here, you have no frame of reference, therefore, you do not know what you are talkking about
@whitemanwaydownsouth schools do not all give the same education, the simple fact that different schools receive massively different budgets makes this very clear and I am actualy stunned that you believe that
if you are going to disagree with me then fine, just make some reasonable points with valid alternatives, do not make stuff up and turn a blind eye as that is not the way to make a valuable debate
@BGDPPL please tell me what makes you such an expert on american public school system? you seem to think you know everything, you really dont . the school systems in poor areas recieve billions in aid, specisal and social programs, and students who make good grades are made fun of, beat up and intimidated from getting good scores. so dont fucking act like you know, because you sure as fuck do not.schools are paid out of local property taxes and state funding to make up the difference.
@BGDPPL unless oyu have been to theus and experienced the inner city school system, you will never understand, especially if you are getting your info from the liberal media.
Most bills don't have a special name attached to them.
This bill was to keep teachers, police, and firemen from being laid off in communities around the nation. It was paid for by closing a loophole for non U.S. companies hiding profits at off shore banks.
How about last week’s bill passed allowing bankruptcy filers to keep their guns? Now you still can’t keep your car for work, but you can keep your guns.
Obama KNOWS what he is doing! He is not stupid, dumb or whatever. When the DemocRATS submit a bill that has no name, its on purpose because they can simply ask "what bill?"
To most people, we are familiar with bill names such as "The United States Civil Rights Act of 1968". When you say "H.R. 6780" (I made that up arbitrarily), people probably just think "usual bill in congress' regular business".
Why is America going down the failed path of socialism ? The Chinese tried it the failed. The Russians failed. Certain European countries are on the verge of failing.
People don't want to be on welfare, this nonsense of welfare not giving incentives for people to work is bullshit, and i don't care what the top economists say. Without welfare and unemployment benefits thousands of people, if not millions, will starve to death or die from exposure to the elements because they don't have the basic resources to stay alive
@WorldAccording2ME That's the most retarded thing I have ever heard. You mean that starving people will just sit there and do absolutely nothing? How did mankind ever survive this long? How did this nation ever survive before welfare was forced on the taxpayers?
Starvation is a very good motivator. It forces people to actually get off their butts and work.
President Obama is a very good demotivator. He is killing job after job after job after job.
"You mean that starving people will just sit there and do absolutely nothing"
yes, because they don't have the proper health and energy to do quality work.
"How did mankind ever survive this long? How did this nation ever survive."
Population and technology makes a huge difference. 1790s, about fiveish million people, lots of work to go around, 2010, 300 million not so much work to go around.
They don't have the health and energy to work? Let me throw an LOL out there.
Yes population is always a factor. What is also a factor is in the 1790's people understood that people who sacrifice liberty(by relying on government control and handouts) for security deserve neither liberty or security. In fact, that's a famous quote form Benjamin Franklin. Everyone worked then, everyone can work now, except some choose not to.
@taylort123 Whats the point of having freedom and liberty if you are afraid some one will kill you because of it. That's why Bush got reelected. People in 2004 chose to sacrifice their liberty over a minor threat and continue an illegal and unjustified war that has created a generation of jaded people and tens of thousands of maimed soldiers that our Veteran Department is stretched too thin to handle.
@WorldAccording2ME Let's not forget the Owebama administration now assassinating United States citizens without Due Process. Is that the Change everyone wanted?
@WesSeid I am interested to know when NObama had US citizens assassinated, I am inherently a conservative and can't stand this president but that sounds a little absurd.
@thekraken23 Just google it to find many articles. Maybe put "assassination list" in there, too, and/or "Dennis Blair", (Director of National Intellgence). There are also videos on here about it, including Ron Paul denouncing it for five minutes in front of Congress. No joke! It's amazing how few people call Obama and his supporters on this stuff. Heck, his own supporters should be calling him on this stuff.
The Obama administration is getting away with murder. Literally.
@WesSeid thank you for these this is worthy of impeachment big time, If the source would have been Fox News I would have been inclined to not believe it (even though I watch Bill O' Reilly and Red Eye when it doesn't interfere with my Twins game), but this came off of MSNBC a station that kissed Obama's ass during his entire campaign, this should be sent to every American citizen and we must push for impeachment.
@WesSeid I never thought I'd say this but I miss Bush Jr. I would rather have an idiot who is good intentioned (although a fuck up) in office than a genius who is evil intentioned
@thekraken23 Take away the Patriot Act, 9/11, some spending like a drunken Democrat, a bank bailout that Democrats voted for, a couple wars, and Bush wasn't really all that bad! :) So people voted in "change," and what is there now? Same wars, same Patriot Act that the Dems renewed, more spending, same Fed chairman, even less transparency, etc. And now killing of U.S. citizens.
Anyone who voted for "change," realize you made a mistake, and learn from it.
@WesSeid Like I said I don't think Bush is a bad person I just think he's a fucking moron who was surrounded by bad people.
But yeah I gotta say I called the Obama one, miracle stories about heroism happen in Football and Baseball but not politics, his whole campaign had me suspicious of him, I personally wrote in Ron Paul, if I could do it again I'd vote for McCain just to do my part in keeping Obama out.
@thekraken23 Bush at least cut everyone's income taxes, and fought his own party to do so. I kind of look at it like this: if people are going to say both parties suck, and they're not going to consider third parties like they should, then they could at least vote for the party that will let them keep their guns.
To me, Reps started to grow a pair around the bank bailout time period. Dems were the majority that voted for it. Reps still kinda suck, but they're waaaay better than Dems.
@WesSeid I agree although not all Dems are bad but this war between the two parties need to stop, I don't have enough room here for the entire quote but I strongly agree with Teddy Rosevelts stance on the two party system, you should look it up, he hit it right on the nose. But I do find it ironic that the Republican Party consistantly find themselves in the good guys circle, from Slavery, to Womens Lib, to ending Segragation. Even Eisenhower's farewell address was an absolute gem.
@WorldAccording2ME I see what you're saying, but that major problem with what you said is that the war is not illegal, the war is justified, and the quote I brought up refers to a state of welfare recipients, not a war. But since you seem to think we are fighting a "minor threat" who have already done more than enough to prove they aren't minor is crazy in my opinion. You're talking to someone who has been there by the way :) That's why I can laugh at what you said.
"yes, because they don't have the proper health and energy to do quality work."
Are you saying ALL of the unemployed are weak and sick? You are digging a hole for yourself there. People don't need skills to work. They can create their own work and develop their own skills. It's called entrepreneurship and it happens all of the time. Gov't roadblocks are the only thing that gets in the way of individual achievement and this administration is building huge roadblocks.
@WorldAccording2ME Although there was some industry the vast majority of labor in the 1790's was agricultural. The balance of labor didn't actually shift from majority agrarian to majority industrial until the mid 20th century.
With increased population comes increased technology. The more people pooling their ideas the greater the technology.
The number of jobs and/or opportunities is not finite. It is only limited by the regulations that gov't imposes.
I'm don't stand firmly in anyone set of ideologies. The bill of rights is the most important set of laws this country has, but there are some people out their that just don't have the mental facilities to own guns, and some ideas are so stupid that their creators should be muted. All of the presidents that we've had in the last fifty years have been plumbing fuck ups, the last good president we may have had was probably Eisenhower, maybe Kennedy because he inspired us to go to the moon
@WorldAccording2ME I try to go by what has worked historically and what is logical. When it comes to economics those that are in the Adam Smith camp are the most practical. It just makes sense to let the market decide what is best for society because it is society that drives the market. When the gov't gets involved, regardless of party, all hell breaks loose.
Keynes and Marx, although brilliant men, created economic theories that were caca. They didn't work.
@WorldAccording2ME Reagan was by far was the best president in the later half of the 20th century. Eisenhower was good. Harding and Coolidge were better than Eisenhower. JFK was much more conservative than the left tries to paint him. Aside from those presidents we've had nothing but Progressive losers for the entire 20th century.
@WorldAccording2ME actually the Constitution is the most important set of laws in this country, the Bill of Rights are ammendments to the Constitution.
@WorldAccording2ME Do you have an idea how much fraud is in welfare programs? Do you know how many people would be forced to go back to work and make real money to stop mooching if their unemployment stimulus was taken away? Do you have any idea how many jobs would be gained through enforcing our borders and kicking job stealing illegal aliens out?
No you don't. And that's why when people want KNOWLEDGEABLE information on economic matters, they go to top economists and not YouTube users.
Can any of you supply-side economists explain to me how you get out of a recession/slow economy by laying people off and not giving them unemployment benefits? How can private sector jobs ever come back if demand for consumer goods continues to disappear?
Giving people unemployment "benefits" if it can even be called that, desecrates peoples drive to work. What you're doing is giving them an incentive to not work because they get "benefits" for not working. We have a crisis of people getting off of unemployment, then working for a set amount of days so they can get back on unemployment. We wouldn't have this problem if we lowered taxes on businesses so they could afford to keep people on board as employees and not have to lay them off.
@taylort123 do you actually think that people would rather receive unemployment than work? And if they are preferring unemployment to working why aren't there a surplus of jobs? Your argument is false and actually insulting to the MANY Americans who lost their jobs a year and a half ago. Do you have statistics for the people who quit work just to get back on unemployment? And the reason businesses are doing poorly is because demand is low, not because they are getting gouged by taxes.
I am one of those people who lost their job a year and a half ago FYI. We wouldn't have such a problem with our welfare state if people in more circumstances than not, were in the mood to get off their asses and work. No of course not everyone wants to be on unemployment but things like the successful addition of a higher minimum wage, which has helped the newly CNBC reported global youth unemployment record by the way, contribute greatly to job losses. Not cause of demand, how stupid.
@loveofphysics But then again demand is actually a factor because in a recession where people don't have money to spend because businesses cant afford to hire them so they can make a wage, it does kill the demand for a lot of industries. So that is somewhat of a 50/50 thing because the stuff is still in demand, but people simply can't afford it. And no I don't have stats, but I live in Cleveland, the nations poorest city and I'm surrounded by this stuff.
Hows the HOPE and CHANGE doin ya Obama voters? Isn't it just grand. The ObamacRATs are throwing our money at anything that might vote for them. They are throwing our money away.
Lee, your against saving over 100,000 teacher jobs? The only thing that was thrown into the bill was to try and stop multi-national companies from taking advantage of a loop-hole that let them send jobs overseas without being taxed. Are you against that too? Wow.... And I didn't realize the soon to be unemployed were irresponsible...
That's so strange. I seem to remember another bill that was going to save teachers jobs.... Hrm.... was it... Oh! Was it the stimulus? You know there are hundreds of billions in stimulus money that hasn't been spent, right?
This bill is nothing but a gift to the unions. In fact- It forces states to spend as much or more on the very thing they're subsidizing with the money for the next few years.
Look, don't get me wrong, I fully comprehend how vital our education system is to our nation's success, but the department of education OF ALL THINGS must be ran much more practical, and FAR MORE EFFICIENT. Their failure has a severe impact on our nation. I mean, good God, look at the morons that exist today!
It all seems shady, like education wasn't top priority.
Congress throws around billions, TRILLIONS of dollars to suit their own interests. Also, BOTH political parties are corrupt beaurocracies. I believe "pork" is a good word to describe the whole situation. Any why the hell do we think we're the world's freaking POLICE?! We'd have a lot more $ for education and social progress without funding who-knows-how-many wars now. Seriously Washington, WTF?
@USAGymnast public schools in usa are not funded by taxpayers in the sense i think you mean, they are funded by the tax raised from the area the school is
so all your hard earnd money will not go towards all those lazy unemployed people you hate so much
those from poor areas will end up going to poor schools because of this, meaning people get stuck in that poor circle
if the funding was more spreadout and equal then schools will get better meaning less unemployed and less spent on benefits
When the people you elect to represent your best interersts, don't represent your best interests, it's your fault for voting for them. Congress is a mess and it's only getting worse.
The Teacher Union Bailout on borrowed money...errrr....creative accounting.
Did you ever notice that these scum always threaten to cut police, firefighters, and teachers while they build turtle tunnels, give cocaine to monkeys, and waste countless taxpayer money? Good thing they don't control waste removal...;)
Yet another example of pitting "Public" funds (increased taxes going to government) against Private funds-- drive everyone to be depndant upon handouts from govt. instead of WEALTH produced and the distributed through a healthy free market system
Just another example of the far right, and how far they'll go.
Lee said "We don't live in a banana republic" LIES! LIES! LIES!
We voted for a banana republic in November of '08. And we got our banana republic. Obama is the elected leader of our banana republic. I made a poster supporting this image, but my friends said it was racist, so I had to take it down.
(I also think voters were hoping to get a discount on overpriced Khaki's...but I can't prove that.)
Really so republicans really r against public interest. The majority of idiots r price less. You want very small/ little government cuz u think it some how interferes with your lives (AKA rules and regulations )reality check people those r called laws. The private sector (or so u ppl put it) is the real interference in your sad lives. Dropping jobs without prior notice to it's employees , and in a lot if cases not paying their employees a deceit wage.
@phazon4 So let's get this straight---the private sector, which every non-government employee is a part of, somehow interferes with our lives? You know what, I think we should all follow your lead. We should all quit our jobs and work for the government. Then we can have them tax our annual income and have it regurgitated back at us through the government.
Illiterate thirteen year-olds, stop using the Internet.
No more vacations for obama no more private jets. No more several hundred dollar dinners no more. We should cut all officials pay to the bare minimal we can pay. They need to feel they own incompetence hit they wallets and they stomachs. In fact pay them as much as soldier earns. These people serve us, they are failing. Well its time to reward that failure with punishments and pay cuts, They can live off soldiers salary. Our soldiers are more deserving of that money then these fools are.
Its time for the government to go on diet. All people currently holding office in the federal government and failing states. Should share the hurt pay-cuts, They do not need a private jet , just a car a few bodyguards and some office personal. And the dirt cheapest building they can fine all of the trips they make on the public dime should be reviewed for necessity. All wasteful spending should incur fines or penalties. If we have to suffer through this then they can.
Another bill the spends money we don't have to save jobs that states can't pay for because, they made the poor decisions. Sorry times are tough time to make cuts and hard decisions and spend another 26 billion that we don't have. The only thing our government should be spending money on its nessacry programs and services. Such as roads basic infrastructure, jail, police and fire department and the military of course. All other spending should be review and placed on the chopping block
Well states need to be responsible and if they can't well they have to deal with it themselves. Tighten they belts and make cuts and tough decisions. Such as firing bad teachers

You made one false statement at the end of your vid. you said "we don't live in a banana republic"
sorry to break the news to you friend but we DO live in a banana republic.
This country has de-evolved into a mix of fascism and feudalism. It was nice while it lasted but the America my grand parents knew, the America I was PROMISED is dead.
I'm hearing teacher's unions are mandating firings over pay cuts. That forces the issue of embezzling more money "to save teachers jobs, etc.". And any states that take this money are mandated by feds to spend the same amount or more next year...but where will the extra money come from? That, at least is what I hear, and if its true contact your rep and protest. This is third world corruption garbage.
@faithnotneeded I have seen where teachers do get fired for not performing well, which I remember a school principal fired all the teachers and they had to reapply for their jobs. I don't have a link, but I saw the story. I don't know all the locations and their plights, but I am open to information on the matter.
What more do you expect from Barry "3rd world nation" Obama and the demohackic intelectuals? Just like making the fake fight between Gibbs and the "professional left".....They hope people think it is the left mad at Obama is the reason why he is tanking in the polls. Hell now they are trying to say the gulf is on a comeback after 2 weeks? LOL
Mr. Doran you're very intelligent. When will you get it through your brilliant skull that what the government has been doing these past few years constitutes a deliberate rape of the public purse? The politicians have foreseen a collapse of the federal government and are clamoring for as much loot as they can get their paws on before there's nothing left. Technically the treasury may be empty, but until the currency is debased completely this counter-fitting will continue unabated.
Didn't realize this Bill was done in such haste that they didn't even bother to name it. Most of the news media neglected to tell us this. Great job Lee!
A repost since some people tried to hide my original comment: I'm kind of wondering your reasons for not liking the bill "HowtheWorldWorks". I had seen video on The Young Turks channel and this looks like a very reasonable accomodation. There was also reply commenting by a GOP member that he thought the bill was a handout. How is it a handout to try and keep people from loosing their jobs? The whole scenario had been booming for a few weeks about teachers and police being laid off in States.
@Timothy2035 When you give irresponsible people money for doing bad, what you do is you continue to stimulate irresponsible spending.
Let me put it this way. This bill and the bank bailout can be compared to someone gambling at the slots, and then getting all of their money back in the end. If you know you are going to keep getting bailed out, you can afford to continue spending terribly because having a guaranteed bailout takes all of the risk out of spending.
@taylort123 but it was the former President Bush that started the process of bank bailouts and "having to do something in an emergency". Sure Obama did some more bail outs, but he had some measures applied on corporations that got tax money bailouts, which those banks quickly repaid the money so the CEOs could get back to their hefty bonuses.
@Timothy2035 I never condoned the Bush bailouts. I think the bailouts are dumb, especially since it gave our government tons more power in the private sector.
@Timothy2035 Yes, Bush started the bank bailouts, and the majority that voted for it in Congress were Democrats. Why Democrats don't like Bush more, I have no idea. They liked his bank bailouts, liked his Patriot Act, liked his wars, liked his Fed Chairman....

@USAGymnast Its an attempt at freedom of opportunity, so those who do want to work can work because they have an education. According to your view point though the rich should get richer and the poor poorer. Look at your history book and tell me how well that has worked in the past.
ismdism 1 year ago
@ismdism
Banshee409 1 year ago
@Banshee409 No I said its an attempt at freedom of opportunity. I don't agree with the idea that was suggested for the reasons that have been said such as not all schools are the same, but I do believe that we should attempt to better our schools in order to educate the public. In a system where your born at a disadvantage if you don't have money I don't think its fair to deny them good schooling as well. Yes money for college, but how do they get there if they never had a good teacher?

@USAGymnast i am not saying i want all your money, i am sure you worked very hard for it
what i am saying is, instead of only funding schools from tax raised in the area the school is, why not share all the school funding evenly across the usa? that way the rich kids who go to public school will have the same level of education as the poor kids, which means more people can get better jobs which means you dont have to pay as much in tax in the future
whats wrong with that?
BGDPPL 1 year ago
@BGDPPL Because schooling is not a one-size-fits-all. Giving a million bucks to a New York school and a million bucks to a Texas school would not result in identical schools, because the people actually in there dealing with the money would have different priorities.
The Feds are also incapable of knowing the needs of the thousands of school systems throughout the States, and it would be wasteful to give to places that already have the money for good school systems.
MEIZimm 1 year ago
@MEIZimm clearly it wouldnt make every school the same, but it is much better than the current system where a school is only funded by the money raised in its area
this method means rich kids from a rich area get great educations which keep them rich, while poor kids from poor areas get bad educations which keeps them poor
yes it would be hard to put in place, all big changes are, but with this method every person in usa gets the most equal start possible, which is the true free market aproach
BGDPPL 1 year ago
@BGDPPL the problem with that is , kids in poor areas are less likely to want to learn, why throw money at kids who will only disrupt class and prevent learning for those who really do want to learn.
look at what bussing does, wastes money to buss kids to great schools only to bring down the overall quality of learning by bringing violence and drugs to an otherwise good and safe school. the onjly way to make children learn is to make the parents participate in their childs learning.
whitemanwaydownsouth 1 year ago
@whitemanwaydownsouth do you not want to find out why kids on poor areas are less likely to want to learn?
instead of just saying, no i dont think we want any of the poor folk round here, why not say, hey we are giving you the exact same chance in life as the rich kids so go out there are work your ass off
help to promote hard work by giving people a chance, dont just slam all poor people down just because of a few bad apples
BGDPPL 1 year ago
@BGDPPL they do not have the same opportunities in life, partially because of their parents' limited resources and in some cases the parents lack of interest in their childrens education, lack of responsible decision making and refusal to conform based on unfounded feelings of entitlement and victimization. the door is not slammed, if anything middle class children are being ignored because of all the special attention and social programs for low income students.
whitemanwaydownsouth 1 year ago
@whitemanwaydownsouth yes they dont have the same opportunities in life, the fact they dont have the same money as the rich families makes that clear, but by giving poor kids the same education as the rich kids you are giving them one clear chance, and that chance is something so many kids just do not have right now
make it clear how important education is, that this is their chance to grow and become better than their parents, that should be the dream of every kid, lets give them that chance
BGDPPL 1 year ago
@BGDPPL thye are given the same education, some choose to squander that. like i said, until you know how it is here, you have no frame of reference, therefore, you do not know what you are talkking about
whitemanwaydownsouth 1 year ago
@whitemanwaydownsouth schools do not all give the same education, the simple fact that different schools receive massively different budgets makes this very clear and I am actualy stunned that you believe that
if you are going to disagree with me then fine, just make some reasonable points with valid alternatives, do not make stuff up and turn a blind eye as that is not the way to make a valuable debate
BGDPPL 1 year ago
@BGDPPL please tell me what makes you such an expert on american public school system? you seem to think you know everything, you really dont . the school systems in poor areas recieve billions in aid, specisal and social programs, and students who make good grades are made fun of, beat up and intimidated from getting good scores. so dont fucking act like you know, because you sure as fuck do not.schools are paid out of local property taxes and state funding to make up the difference.

WorldAccording2ME 1 year ago
@WorldAccording2ME That's the most retarded thing I have ever heard. You mean that starving people will just sit there and do absolutely nothing? How did mankind ever survive this long? How did this nation ever survive before welfare was forced on the taxpayers?

Population and technology makes a huge difference. 1790s, about fiveish million people, lots of work to go around, 2010, 300 million not so much work to go around.
WorldAccording2ME 1 year ago
@WorldAccording2ME Im with Alba.
Everyone worked then, everyone can work now, except some choose not to.
taylort123 1 year ago
@taylort123 Whats the point of having freedom and liberty if you are afraid some one will kill you because of it. That's why Bush got reelected. Anyone who voted for "change," realize you made a mistake, and learn from it.

thekraken23 1 year ago
@thekraken23 Bush at least cut everyone's income taxes, and fought his own party to do so. I kind of look at it like this: if people are going to say both parties suck, and they're not going to consider third parties like they should, then they could at least vote for the party that will let them keep their guns.
To me, Reps started to grow a pair around the bank bailout time period. Dems were the majority that voted for it. Reps still kinda suck, but they're waaaay better than Dems.
WesSeid 1 year ago
@WesSeid I agree although not all Dems are bad but this war between the two parties need to stop, I don't have enough room here for the entire quote but I strongly agree with Teddy Rosevelts stance on the two party system, you should look it up, he hit it right on the nose. But I do find it ironic that the Republican Party consistantly find themselves in the good guys circle, from Slavery, to Womens Lib, to ending Segragation. Even Eisenhower's farewell address was an absolute gem.

@thekraken23 If you ever hear Obama speak off the cuff you'll see that he's no genius.
PissedFechtmeister 1 year ago
@WorldAccording2ME I see what you're saying, but that major problem with what you said is that the war is not illegal, the war is justified, and the quote I brought up refers to a state of welfare recipients, not a war. But since you seem to think we are fighting a "minor threat" who have already done more than enough to prove they aren't minor is crazy in my opinion. You're talking to someone who has been there by the way :) That's why I can laugh at what you said.
taylort123 1 year ago
@WorldAccording2ME
"yes, because they don't have the proper health and energy to do quality work."
AlbaGoBragh 1 year ago 5
@WorldAccording2ME Although there was some industry the vast majority of labor in the 1790's was agricultural. The balance of labor didn't actually shift from majority agrarian to majority industrial until the mid 20th century.
With increased population comes increased technology. The more people pooling their ideas the greater the technology.
The number of jobs and/or opportunities is not finite. It is only limited by the regulations that gov't imposes.
You're sounding like a Marxist.
AlbaGoBragh 1 year ago 9
I'm don't stand firmly in anyone set of ideologies. The bill of rights is the most important set of laws this country has, but there are some people out their that just don't have the mental facilities to own guns, and some ideas are so stupid that their creators should be muted. All of the presidents that we've had in the last fifty years have been plumbing fuck ups, the last good president we may have had was probably Eisenhower, maybe Kennedy because he inspired us to go to the moon
WorldAccording2ME 1 year ago
@WorldAccording2ME I try to go by what has worked historically and what is logical. When it comes to economics those that are in the Adam Smith camp are the most practical. It just makes sense to let the market decide what is best for society because it is society that drives the market. When the gov't gets involved, regardless of party, all hell breaks loose.
Keynes and Marx, although brilliant men, created economic theories that were caca. They didn't work.
AlbaGoBragh 1 year ago 3
@WorldAccording2ME Reagan was by far was the best president in the later half of the 20th century. Eisenhower was good. Harding and Coolidge were better than Eisenhower. JFK was much more conservative than the left tries to paint him. Aside from those presidents we've had nothing but Progressive losers for the entire 20th century.

Can any of you supply-side economists explain to me how you get out of a recession/slow economy by laying people off and not giving them unemployment benefits? How can private sector jobs ever come back if demand for consumer goods continues to disappear?
loveofphysics 1 year ago
Giving people unemployment "benefits" if it can even be called that, desecrates peoples drive to work. What you're doing is giving them an incentive to not work because they get "benefits" for not working. We have a crisis of people getting off of unemployment, then working for a set amount of days so they can get back on unemployment. We wouldn't have this problem if we lowered taxes on businesses so they could afford to keep people on board as employees and not have to lay them off.
taylort123 1 year ago
@taylort123 do you actually think that people would rather receive unemployment than work? And if they are preferring unemployment to working why aren't there a surplus of jobs? Your argument is false and actually insulting to the MANY Americans who lost their jobs a year and a half ago. Do you have statistics for the people who quit work just to get back on unemployment? And the reason businesses are doing poorly is because demand is low, not because they are getting gouged by taxes.
loveofphysics 1 year ago
I am one of those people who lost their job a year and a half ago FYI. We wouldn't have such a problem with our welfare state if people in more circumstances than not, were in the mood to get off their asses and work. No of course not everyone wants to be on unemployment but things like the successful addition of a higher minimum wage, which has helped the newly CNBC reported global youth unemployment record by the way, contribute greatly to job losses. Not cause of demand, how stupid.
taylort123 1 year ago
@loveofphysics But then again demand is actually a factor because in a recession where people don't have money to spend because businesses cant afford to hire them so they can make a wage, it does kill the demand for a lot of industries. So that is somewhat of a 50/50 thing because the stuff is still in demand, but people simply can't afford it. And no I don't have stats, but I live in Cleveland, the nations poorest city and I'm surrounded by this stuff.

Amiaworld 1 year ago
@jesseb137
Lets put this together..
The states can't afford to save the jobs right now, so they needed bail out money.
But the bill forces states to spend as much or more for the programs and jobs it's 'saving' for years to come.
So... If they states can't pay it -now-, how will they pay it next year? The year after that?
This is only prolonging the inevitable. Unions are bankrupting states. The pension problem needs to be fixed.

Well states need to be responsible and if they can't well they have to deal with it themselves. Tighten they belts and make cuts and tough decisions. Such as firing bad teachers

This reminds me of a song:
I've been voting in the Senate on a bill with no name
It felt good to be spending again...

The only thing missing is Nancy Pelosi telling us that "We have to pass this bill to find out what the name of it is" LOL

Why was the vid so short?

You made one false statement at the end of your vid. you said "we don't live in a banana republic"
sorry to break the news to you friend but we DO live in a banana republic.
This country has de-evolved into a mix of fascism and feudalism. It was nice while it lasted but the America my grand parents knew, the America I was PROMISED is dead.
RIP

@AtlasHBS It may not be a banana republic just yet but it is sure a republic that's gone bananas.

I'm really not surprised. Just more of the same. The only thing that is bothering me now is that it's become status quo.

If you know you are going to keep getting bailed out, you can afford to continue spending terribly because having a guaranteed bailout takes all of the risk out of spending.
taylort123 1 year ago
@taylort123 but it was the former President Bush that started the process of bank bailouts and "having to do something in an emergency". Sure Obama did some more bail outs, but he had some measures applied on corporations that got tax money bailouts, which those banks quickly repaid the money so the CEOs could get back to their hefty bonuses.
Timothy2035 1 year ago
@Timothy2035 I never condoned the Bush bailouts. I think the bailouts are dumb, especially since it gave our government tons more power in the private sector.

your such a dumb party sheep
GodAthie 1 year ago
@Timothy2035 Yes, Bush started the bank bailouts, and the majority that voted for it in Congress were Democrats. Why Democrats don't like Bush more, I have no idea. They liked his bank bailouts, liked his Patriot Act, liked his wars, liked his Fed Chairman....
