Way to go clerk! Although, as a mother, I would have been very upset about the shoot out so close to my child, it would have been much worse if the clerk failed to act and the thief decided to leave no witnesses. When someone points a gun at an innocent person you have to act with the assumption that they are going to pull the trigger. If you want to avoid getting shot don't rob people or point guns at them. I gaurantee I wouldn't sue in that situation, but I'd probably buy the guy dinner!
I am glad that it worked out the way that it did. And I was not there. But I don't know if it was wise to engage the BG with the mother and child in that position. Yes he got the BG, but what would have happened if the BG's shots had stuck the child? Perhaps had he waited a few more seconds and tried to get them farther out of the line of fire I would feel better about this. It just bugs me that he didn't. And yes, I am pro gun and pro CCW. But risking the kid seems like unneeded escalation.
@bbbvvv312 Truly none of us were there. Easy to Monday quarter back. Funny, no one seems to complain about the Criminal gunman being in close poximity to the innocent woman, child, clerk, and night manager & firing wildly. There was NO further out of the line of fire in this small room. It is very likely that shots from the gunman could have penetrated the desk and more than one person at these distances. The criminal created ALL the risk and danger that occured in the assault/robbery.

@GraniteState9198 Your correct! Ddid you know that the FBI statics on shootings place police officers at 17% hits and the bad guys at 75% hits! This is due to the fact police have to have total countability for every shot! Bad guys only need to pull the trigger as fast as they can!!! They don't care who gets hit!

@409na If the CCWer was unsure of his ability to clear the bystanders, he would not have even drawn his weapon. CCWers are rarely as stupid as you would like to think. Stupid people generally don't have clean records, and you have to have an ultra squeaky clean record to be licensed for CCW.
@SANPH Most CCWers I know, including myself, practice shooting more than cops. My dad used to be a firearms instructor for the local PD, he said just by going to the range once a week, I'm already practicing more than the average cop, many of whom only do their mandatory minimum training. Rookie cops sometimes practice more, but if nothing happens on the job, they tend to get complacent and as the years pass they practice less and less.
@SANPH you don't have to have a "clean" record to get a CCW permit, just can't have any felonies or violent misdemeanors...or at least that's how it is here..
01V92VIC: Yeah, I carry a .45 all the time. I have a 9MM I shoot for target practice every now and then, but when my butt is on the line I carry the .45 cal. I was an MP for ten years and I like the .45 since it's not very loud for the size round it throws. I can use it without 'plugs. And as far as concealment, in a shoulder rig with two extra mags on the other side, it sits well, and is very comfortable. The Ruger is not as big as the M1911, yet carries two more rounds, another bonus.
Nice double tap, with an extra. I do doubles to keep me on target. I'm not really strong enough in the wrist to get off three and hope they all hit. Then again, I carry a Ruger P97DC in .45 loaded with 200 gr. hydra-shok rounds. If two of them don't do it, it's time to call the Marines.
@fxdwgtc88 do you really carry a 45 with you every day? I know some guys who have 45 but find it is to heavy & hard to conceal. I carry a s&w airweight 38 speacial. The only bad part about this gun is sometimes I forget I even have it on me.
@01V92VIC New to this site. Posted a comment without seeing the reply button. Not sure you will get it. But yeah, to keep it short, I carry that .45 whenever I leave the house. It's like the American Express card. I won't leave home without it.
I just saw a gun being fired by a child and customer. That was not a clear safe killing zone. It turned out ok this time but that should clearly be shown as what not to do.
Guy did the right thing except for one thing. That maggot should be taking a dirt nap rather than costing us $50,000 a year to keep him in prison with him eventually being released to rob and possibly kill. One more shot because "I thought he might have the gun in his hand" would have been great.
good job!? are you idiots kidding me? if that baby had ended up dead or wounded you'd be the same one crying for him to be arrested. not a good job! if he wants to be a hero go joins Swat or the Marines. hero moves like this will get you & other innocent people killed...
@paupone the baby and everyone in that picture could have ended up dead or wounded if that robber was more serious and that guy didnt have a weapon....its people like you
@paupone its people like you that would hope someone with a gun would be there is that place was getting robbed and thos same people are the people that are letting our right to bear arms be threatened
CCW The question you have to ask yourself is how much you value your life? If you're willing to negotiate with the armed robber, then he gets to choose whether you live or not. He gets to decide whether or not he kills someone today (you, or any other victim). It's all a matter of choice.. armed robber, murder, felon...his choice V.S. yours. Think about that let it sink in for a minute...
did I just see a gun being fired less than a foot to the side of a baby? regardless of the situation, this is unacceptable, cops are trained not to do this, everyone should be trained in this manner
@jaybers68 You mean that baby that is perfectly alright? Yep. Did you just see a man with a gun possibly save the lives of everyone in that room, other than the scumbag? Yep.
@Sasquachlovebanana What a stupid thing to say. No one would want any innocent person, much less a child to be shot. You should be ashamed of yourself for being such a pussy. The motel clerk did a fine job. I would hate to depend on a wimp like you. Crime proliferates when weaklings like you decide that the best thing to do is to submit to thugs. I hope the robber died a painful death.
the only bad thing i have to say about the vid is i think the clerk should have been a little more cautious of the family next to him he fired shots about a foot away from that little girl
This is why police say they cannot protect it's citizenry.
This is to truth to our life! Police want very bad to be the guy to use his training to protect the staff and guests here on this video. However unless you carry a police officer in your pocket, you will need to think about having a gun. Pepper spray would have pissed the robber of and possibly shot the good people here.
idk if I would've done the same considering the mom and kid were still technically in the line of fire. Maybe motioned for the mom to move to the side or get down with her kid but damn, that's some scary shit.
that baby almost received a headshot by the good guy...that was waaay too close, nonetheless amazing how he pulled the gun behind the coworker and went right at it!
That was some good shooting, that guy obviously spends some time training. Good for him. Chick with the kid is a brainless sheep. Guy next to you pulls a gun, how about you take a few steps away from him? Proof that the human race has badly beaten natural selection.
It's only money...this time. If the clerk let that robber go it might be your life or family next time. I say GOOD SHOOTING and thank you for stopping him.
See how the powerful paternal protective instincts just kicked in there, like a mother lion protecting her cub. what a fat docile sack of shit she was.
A pro? He is a cashier!!! Wow all over prob $200. If he wanted to kill them he would have just blasted every1 but the 1 lady when he walked in. Just dumb...
@arcron911 you dont know what your talking about clearly, just because he is a cashier doesnt mean he isnt ex military or even a competition shooter. and just look it up the cases of people being killed after they hand over the money are numerous. bottom line scumbag criminal got what he deserved.
@NOCTURNOzombie Really? I am the one... Pro = Professional or someone whose profession is in a field. He is a clerk, stop imagining he is some sort of seal or trick shot artist. It was a dangerous shoot. I like the results, don't get me wrong. Just a bad situation to be in. Btw look up how many people are not shot after giving the money vs how many are after trying to fight. Its only money... if this was a kidnapping fight for your life.
@righthandofthepeople How do you know the dude wasn't a competition shooter? What it he was an ex Navy Seal?
And if someone tries to rob me I will shoot them. It's not just money, it's my hard earned money that I spent my hours on earning so that I can pay for my house. You aren't just taking my money, you're taking my house.
@righthandofthepeople It's only money. It's only a TV. It's only a car. Life AND property. Life IS property. Without property we are nothing. We protect our lives for a reason, and we protect property for a reason. People live in a world where the idea is more of everything is coming right on down the line. Well it's not going to so for much longer. Our Masters have borrowed themselves/US into bankruptcy and the insurer of last resort is almost out of money/credit. You protect what's yours.
@arcron911 So you are siding with the robber on this one? Because he is a cashier he can not be a pro? Can you hit a moving target with a 3 out of 3 acuracy while adrenaline is pumping. Being a cashier does not mean he is not ex-military, an ex police officer, or just a citizen who has been trained. The training classes I have taken have mostly been taught by police officers and ex military. The only problem I have with this video; the robber didn't die.
@EyeinTeaJay. Uh... no. Where in "I like the results" did you get I was siding with the bad guy? I was simply saying it was a dangerous shoot. Sorry to all the gun slingers out there but it was. Glad you are trained by cops, I however am one. In my opinon it was not a great idea to start shooting behind a fat lady towards another fat lady holding a baby. Things could have turned out real bad. Glad it only ended bad for the bad guy.
@righthandofthepeople I dont believe I was responding to you. I was responding to arcorn911. I liked the results as well. But I will say this, we do not know how far from the lady he was because the angle of the camera does not give us a complete rear view.
you can tell just by the clerk's stance that this guy is a pro at handling his weapon - the child and mother would've been in more danger had he not pulled used his equipment.
I love happy endings like this. This is why we need more sheepdogs in our country. Nice aiming on the good guy's part. Well executed withdraw and even better to follow up with shots that went 3 for 3 against the bad guy.
to the person that said shoot them in the back as they are leaving...i just took my CCDW class 2 days ago...they told us if we shoot anyone in the back, even if they have a gun, we WILL go to jail if we kill them or even fire and miss....the law is shoot to stop the threat..after the threat is no more, we MUST stop shooting....this guy did a damn good job....who knows, he could have snatched that baby and demanded money with the baby at gunpoint....you NEVER know
Some of the comments on here are just plain fucking stupid! People look closely at this video, the clerk saved 3 lives that night, and from what I see, the clerk knew exactly what to do and when to do it. When the robber walked in, and the clerk noticed what was happening, he did not immediately draw his gun, he stood up behind the female clerk, while packing on his right side the crook was not able to see him draw his weapon giving the clerk the advantage. That clerk was trained very good!
hahaha i have both top comments, are you kidding me... please thumbs down that shit. i'm so sick of these country bumpkin trigger happy yokel replies... let's all just be happy no innocent lives were lost, and agree to disagree with this clerks actions... it's a matter of opinion how you feel about what happens, and the decisions made in this video. give your opinion if you'd like, just leave me the fuck out of it...
@drbackjack no joke, i agree 100%. things were fine, but i made that last comment, an offensive comment nonetheless, while trashed and tired. i try not to be a dick, but it happens sometimes, you know? thanks for your input Dr...
Point: Situations Dictate. Could bad things have happened to the bystanders? Yes. Did they? No. When it comes to a life or death situation, all that talk goes out the window. It happened the way it did and luckily no one got hurt except the assailant. It is what it is.
that woman and child are too close. i carry concealed, and im pretty sure i wouldn't have engaged the bad guy in this scenario. too great a risk. but still, i am speaking from a vantage point of having time to think, this man did not, and thats the difference. you wontalways have a chance to think it out. its no different for the police. either way, good for him!
@tedfeast I respectfully disagree. I'm no expert, but from viewing the video several times, it appears clear that the mother and child were far enough to the Left of the guy that there was no risk. The guy perfectly positioned himself behind the female clerk before drawing his weapon and then was to the Right of her before pointing his Glock "down range" to fire. Again, I'm obviously no expert, but that's how it looked to me. I'm just glad that everybody is OK and that Antoine's behind bars.
1, too many people around to instigate gunfire, unless absolutley necessary (if he was alone in the building, then i say go for it)
2, he could have kept gun at side (only show it if planning to fire)
3, most important, don't point your gun at someone else with a gun, and then let them get the first shot. (unless you want to die) it appears he hesitates one second, and allmost lost his face for it.
@tezgaa84 it's not a "plan", it's "instinct"... all places are different, but where i'm from, you basically need to get trained and taught all about CCW. you get tested, retested, and finally given your permit AFTER proving knowledge and ability. i get what your saying, this clerk was in a higher stress situation than most people will ever face. he did what he deemed as necessary. but if bad guys bullet hits little girl in the face, clerk would feel partly at fault. at least i would...
that was fucked up big time... the fact is, the robber got 3 shots off, fired first, (if text info is correct) all over what was in the register. that man put himself, two women and a child in serious danger over money. i don't care if the clerk is confident that he's on point, he can't count on where the cracked out dude's lead is hitting. this clerk is a dick and was probably looking for a reason to shoot someone, or just has horrible judgement. thank god that little girl isn't dead...
@DrGonzoACJ Do you not see that they all could have been hurt? Not to say in the least you didnt say anything about the robber in the wrong....and that guy deserves to be shot one less nig
@blackmanshooter ok black man shooter... listen dick, no shit the robber was in the wrong, that wasn't my point. when you are trained for any job with cash on hand, you are specifically told to give them the shit, to comply with the nut with a gun, for your own saftey and those around you. that robber was 3 seconds away from chick handing cash over, he leaves 99% of the time, no shots fired. the loss of a wallet is not worth the loss of a child. in short, CCW+idiot=dead bystanders.
@DrGonzoACJ Its my opinion that there is no real right or wrong for the male clerk. The criminal went in to commit robbery at his own peril. Why should he choose to be a victim of a violent crime when he ended the situation pretty much right then and there? nobody knows what could have happened either way, its all guesses and what-ifs. If you are approached the way these people were, you need to counter attack with explosive, decisive force. Complying will not always save your life...
@DrGonzoACJ Bullshit. Watch the news. See how many people are killed even AFTER they comply. You're suggesting that we should all assume that a man who risks his life and freedom to rob a motel lobby at gunpoint is going to act rationally and logically.
@DrGonzoACJ 99% of the time isn't good enough. Because I have heard of way to many people handing their wallet over to the bad guy and still ending up dead.
@DrGonzoACJ You're the dick. It's people like you that give these criminals all the room they need to operate. You say they leave 99% of the time eh? Well, what if this was the 1% and he shot everyone in there before he left? This guy had the shot and he took it. The CCW holder was not an idiot, he was protecting everyone in that room and he did a great job! CCW FTW!
@DrGonzoACJ your wrong buddy, the CLERK got 3 shots off....thats a win for me because he did not empty the magazine which he could have easily done. I think he know how close bystanders were.
@FEAdeES it also says at 0:36 that the robber got off a few shots too. those are the bullets im worried about. i'm taking all text info into consideration, and assuming it is correct. even though it is slightly out of picture, it looks as though the robber gets at least the first shot off. by no means am i doubting the clerks ability to hit his target, i just don't agree with his judgement.
Woooww...REALLY glad the Mom started moving to the side with her child....cause trading bullets with pretty muh EVERYONE still practically in the Bad Guy's line of fire is a great way for a baby to accidentally get shot..>=(! Armed robber got what he deserved....
This guy, aka the good guy is an IDIOT. He could have gotten other people killed, or killed them himself. It was not a matter of self defense. It would have been better to just let the guy go with the cash. Stray shot from either the BG OR GG......
This guy, aka the good guy is an IDIOT. He could have gotten other people killed, or killed them himself. It was not a matter of self defense. It would have been better to just let the guy go with the cash. Stray shot from either the BG OR GG......
@brucekirk89 Thank you!! I am the biggest gun advocate in the world. With that being said. I would NOT have opened fire on this guy unless he would have shot someone. This guy was going to take money and haul ass. I would have never endangered that child's life just to shoot some punk over money. This guy is NOT a hero. Just a foolish attempt to be a Billy Badass.
@cursivebluedragon you're an idiot. the point is to stop the deadly threat before it hurts or kills someone else, you dont just stand there and wait for him to start shooting. the only person endangering the childs life was the robber and he was stopped. yes that guy is a hero and you are a moron
@balla740 Do you see how Amyuk and I had a civilized debate? If you approached people in that manner and not like a dick, I would entertain you. But, alas, you are a troll trolling around. I have nothing else to say to you. Take care.

SANPH 5 days ago

The Ruger is not as big as the M1911, yet carries two more rounds, another bonus.
fxdwgtc88 1 week ago
Nice double tap, with an extra. I do doubles to keep me on target. I'm not really strong enough in the wrist to get off three and hope they all hit. Then again, I carry a Ruger P97DC in .45 loaded with 200 gr. hydra-shok rounds. If two of them don't do it, it's time to call the Marines.
fxdwgtc88 1 week ago
@fxdwgtc88 do you really carry a 45 with you every day? I know some guys who have 45 but find it is to heavy & hard to conceal. I carry a s&w airweight 38 speacial. The only bad part about this gun is sometimes I forget I even have it on me.
01V92VIC 1 week ago
@01V92VIC New to this site. Posted a comment without seeing the reply button. Not sure you will get it. But yeah, to keep it short, I carry that .45 whenever I leave the house. It's like the American Express card. I won't leave home without it.

@NOCTURNOzombie Really? I am the one... Pro = Professional or someone whose profession is in a field. He is a clerk, stop imagining he is some sort of seal or trick shot artist. Its only money... if this was a kidnapping fight for your life.

@righthandofthepeople It's only money. It's only a TV. It's only a car. Life AND property. Life IS property. Without property we are nothing. Well it's not going to so for much longer. Our Masters have borrowed themselves/US into bankruptcy and the insurer of last resort is almost out of money/credit. You protect what's yours.
toolkien 2 weeks ago
@arcron911 So you are siding with the robber on this one? Because he is a cashier he can not be a pro? Can you hit a moving target with a 3 out of 3 acuracy while adrenaline is pumping. Being a cashier does not mean he is not ex-military, an ex police officer, or just a citizen who has been trained. The training classes I have taken have mostly been taught by police officers and ex military. The only problem I have with this video; the robber didn't die.
EyeinTeaJay 3 weeks ago
@EyeinTeaJay. Uh... no. Where in "I like the results" did you get I was siding with the bad guy? I was simply saying it was a dangerous shoot. Sorry to all the gun slingers out there but it was. Glad you are trained by cops, I however am one. In my opinon it was not a great idea to start shooting behind a fat lady towards another fat lady holding a baby. Things could have turned out real bad. Glad it only ended bad for the bad guy.
righthandofthepeople 3 weeks ago
@righthandofthepeople I dont believe I was responding to you. I was responding to arcorn911. I liked the results as well. But I will say this, we do not know how far from the lady he was because the angle of the camera does not give us a complete rear view.

Point: Situations Dictate. Could bad things have happened to the bystanders? Yes. Did they? No. When it comes to a life or death situation, all that talk goes out the window. It happened the way it did and luckily no one got hurt except the assailant. It is what it is.

tedfeast 1 month ago
@tedfeast I respectfully disagree. I'm no expert, but from viewing the video several times, it appears clear that the mother and child were far enough to the Left of the guy that there was no risk. The guy perfectly positioned himself behind the female clerk before drawing his weapon and then was to the Right of her before pointing his Glock "down range" to fire. Again, I'm obviously no expert, but that's how it looked to me. I'm just glad that everybody is OK and that Antoine's behind bars.

the clerk fucked up in major ways.

@tezgaa84 it's not a "plan", it's "instinct"... all places are different, but where i'm from, you basically need to get trained and taught all about CCW. you get tested, retested, and finally given your permit AFTER proving knowledge and ability. i get what your saying, this clerk was in a higher stress situation than most people will ever face. he did what he deemed as necessary. but if bad guys bullet hits little girl in the face, clerk would feel partly at fault. at least i would...

blackmanshooter 1 month ago
@blackmanshooter ok black man shooter... listen dick, no shit the robber was in the wrong, that wasn't my point. when you are trained for any job with cash on hand, you are specifically told to give them the shit, to comply with the nut with a gun, for your own saftey and those around you. that robber was 3 seconds away from chick handing cash over, he leaves 99% of the time, no shots fired. the loss of a wallet is not worth the loss of a child. in short, CCW+idiot=dead bystanders.
DrGonzoACJ 1 month ago 5
@DrGonzoACJ Its my opinion that there is no real right or wrong for the male clerk. The criminal went in to commit robbery at his own peril. Why should he choose to be a victim of a violent crime when he ended the situation pretty much right then and there? nobody knows what could have happened either way, its all guesses and what-ifs. If you are approached the way these people were, you need to counter attack with explosive, decisive force. Complying will not always save your life...
99Z155 1 month ago
@DrGonzoACJ Bullshit. Watch the news. See how many people are killed even AFTER they comply. You're suggesting that we should all assume that a man who risks his life and freedom to rob a motel lobby at gunpoint is going to act rationally and logically.
