So, don’t get me wrong. I think Plush is an amazing skater and I enjoy watching him, but I still prefer Alexei. There is something about him, some passion that blows me away every time I watch him and I just can’t get enough.
Oh please, give me a break!!!! I just can’t believe what I am reading here.
You say Yagudin fans are arrogant and narrow minded? I get the same feeling when I read comments from Plush fans! Like: Yagudin has retired because he knew that Plushenko will be better than him, etc. Well, we all know he retired from eligible skating due to an injury. And this voodoo-thing is just ridiculous. I can’t believe some people actually believe in this.
@lala630312 Yes, ITA with you, he is very "unique"! And I think many will agree with me when I say that it is too bad the level of mens' figure skating is not the same as it was back in 2002. I do not mean to come across as 'hostile" but I am angry & heartbroken that Alexei's defective hip (yes, we have seen his Xrays/heard his doctor) has taken him away from competitive skating. Even now, in shows, he limps off the ice in agony! Its a crying shame that he had to leave eligible skating!
@bloomergurl Yes i agree with you. Yagudin is great skater. I'm sorry because he retired. In 2002, and before 2002 the competitions were exciting. The two giants fighted each other. I was very excited,my heart beat faster. Now? I'm not interested in male FS since 2006. In Vancouver of course, because Evgeni skated. If you haven't seen: watch?v=QdDddEkUxqc Enjoy! Yag and Plush together one time on ice..
He praised that Brian Joubert is a good skater. In 2002 Yagudin rightly won. In 2010 the outcome was complete joke. Who has been following figure-skating knows how modest and nice Plushenko is.
I am not certain that Plushenko got defeated by these black magicians, but at least Yagudin was in the same league with Plushenko. Lysacek' is nowhere near to Plushenko. The former never landed quad in the inernational competition( except for ONLY Twice in U.S. championships) Yagudin was well equipped with good techniques and artistry. I prefer Plushenko, though. Their rivalries fierce and another great joy. Plushenko accepted his defeat when he lost to Brian Joubert in 2004 Euros.
The funny thing is that Plushenko didn´t believe in this story from the beggining, I´ve read some interviews after the SLC and he was saying that there was no "voodoo" just lack of concentration, fatigue, etc. I´ve always been very curious to find out who convinced him to believe or to declare that such a thing was plausible. LOL!!!!!!!!!!
A "voodoo" story? LOL Yeah, poor Evgeny had to blame SOMEone/something! Not his own bad take-off/leaning! lol Alexei never blamed anyone for his losses, he took it like a man.
And its no secret that many fs fans & fs skaters think that posing, shaking hair & flapping arms is not choreography & artistry! But obviously some think it is! That's their taste. lol
Its funny, I have heard many times that Evgeny fans switched to Alexei, but how many Alexei fans switch to Evgeny? LOLOL
I used to be Alexei´s fan (actually I still am) but I like Evgeni more, maybe because I am sick and tired of Yagudin´s fans who claim that they like him because they have exquisite tastes. If being Yagudin´s fan means to be arrogant, contemptuous and narrow-minded I prefer the shaking hair & flapping arms and believe me, I am not the only one!
@bloomergurl I think you are an americans. Evgeni has bad PR in USA. But he is really lovely and funny person. The Americans did not want to know what is really Plushenko. I think he not care for americans, because he get many love everywhere. In july he had 18 shows in Japan, he received more than 1100 pounds gifts and sea of flowers. He transported by ship to Russia. LOL.Why do Evgeni has to care for americans?
@bloomergurl And he is the most decorated champion in Fs history. He is more interesting person, he has more money, than Yag.Yagudin is great skater, but he hasn't charisma, and more boring than Plush. I believe that YAG has retired because he was afraid Plushenko beats him. I read Evgeni's biographic novel. He had very difficult life, his family was very poor. But i don't say about Evgeni, because you are hostile.
The fact of the matter (or should I say controversy, lol) is that Alexei beat Evgeny in 2002 Olympics even with a badly injured hip! He had to retire shortly after because he could no longer land (or barely walk) on his hip, it was numb! Otherwise he could have gone on to win many more golds! It is a tremendous loss to figure skating to lose such a magnificent fskater.. He truly set the bar so high, that in my (& many) eyes, none have measured up to.
Love love LOOOVE this video! The perfect "rags to riches" story! Or should I say "garbage" (which is how Mishin treated his student) to all-around talented "total package" thanks to TAT! BEST move Alexei ever made!!
Plushenko is the best skater ever, this is not controversial!! Yagudin has retired because he knew that Plushenko will be better than him. Yagudin was afraid Plushenko.
@lala630312 Lyosha was injured. He actually had his hip replaced a few years ago so don't say he retired bc he was afraid of Zhenya. He had beaten him most of the times when it mattered in big competitions. Just count their records till 2002. Who's the best is a matter of taste. I prefer Yags. It's your right to prefer Plush but don't tell that people can't argue with your choice bc you'll find that many can but it's only a vicious circle. Both are excellent skaters and let's leave it at that.
I think plushenko finisjed as a great skater after Yagudin left the ice. Even Torino was kindergarten to compare 2002. Everybody looked better and stronger when Alexei was in. Nothing interesting left after him. And yes plushenkos sore loser, yagudin never questioned his downs, he always was first who critisized his bed skates. Love yagudin. best forever
This film is quite an old stuff. It was before Tourino
I guess Zhenya finally got over that.
I've heard of his ice duet with Yagudin at some show. And they do communicate, as both of the guys admit. This "voodoo" story 's gone to the past and Plush's attempts to find some excuses of his failure, too
i dont discredit plush's talent and all, but he is really stupid in this, get over yourself u twat, u would have fallen even if the psychologist wasnt there, u had horrible posture, and this interview just proves whose the better man in all this, and mishin, well he is just plain butthurt over his loss, and he cant get over it. yagudin talks about competition and the challenge, never personal attack, makes him ten times a better man that both of them together
hilarious... how dumb one needs to be to believe in that? im just amazed how a coach and a skater like Plush can say smth like this publicly.. does it get anymore stupid? i guess not..
I will always remember the way Mishin treated Plush at the 2002 Olympics. He was terribly cold and after the marks he said "the Olympics are over". It's so awful for a trainer to behave like that! And he did the same think in 1998 with Yagudin after the long program: he left him alone on the K&C. Alexei was 17. How can you do something like that? To be a great trainer it is not enough to teach how to jumps. You need more. And you need more to be a good human being. I am not sure he is.
And Mishin is right, there is a lot of dirt in Figure skating and most came from himself!!! I remember the terrible way he used media to attack Yagudin: he is a drunk, mentality unstable, he betrayed his country (the last is my favourite, Alexei was 18-year-old when he left Russia). And he is a great trainer. I mean, he really has to behave in such a pathetic way? Get over it, man. Don't make a fool out of yourself!
First of all, it's not true that he was perfectly set for the quod. He had a terrible position in the air, and you know what Plush? There are two things called gravity and centre of gravity! I can't believe that in 2000 there are people who still believe in this stupid staff.
It is so pathetic from Plush to say something like this...why can't he just be happy that he's got the gold from Turin? My opinion is: because 2006 was pretty poor while SLC was full of great stuff.Even though SLC was 4 years earlier,it's more on people's minds than the 2006.SLC was classy.Even though Plush came second there,I think he was still better there than in Turin...maybe it's still bugging him,who knows...
He should've just said that Alexei deserved to win in 2002 and that's it.
probably he's fall was because of the strong wind>)....Babytale...I love Alexei and I like Evgeni too,but is like a bad joke! Now Plushenko has an olimpics gold medal.probably he should go on,and be happy with his own medal, and dont want to take Alexei's
I can't stop laughing at the hipnosis story. These two can never be matched: on the ice and off the ice. They gave us so much hilarity with their rivalry over the years, and apparently this is a gift that'll keep on giving for years to come!
... and I thought these two got over it already. They seemed pretty friendly whenever they met in shows and there's pictures of them looking quite chummy. Honestly though, they're not teenage boys anymore. It's over. They both have their Olympic gold medals and multiple world/European championships. They are arguably two of the best men to ever step on the ice.
LOL, it's not like Plushy has NEVER fallen in competition before. In fact, prior to 2001 when Yagudin's injury pretty much guaranteed he wouldn't keep his world title, Plushy cracked under pressure a lot. I forget if it was 2000 or 1999 Worlds when Plushy had a perfect opportunity to beat Yagudin and then blew up in the Free skate and ended up 4th.
hehe, i just found it funny, the fact that plushenko actually believes that... well u know he isnt an average skater, he definitely isnt, he's amazing, very constant with his jumps, and all that... but still he's a human being, meaning he is NOT perfect... so the fall on the quad in the short of the Salt Lake Olympics was a mistake, probably too much pressure, and he didnt know how to handle it... the thing is that he lost concentration and that's why he felt, not b/c of hypnotism...
hehe, i just found it funny, the fact that plushenko actually believes that... well u know he isnt an average skater, he definitely isnt, he's amazing, very constant with his jumps, and all that... but still he's a human being, meaning he is NOT perfect... so the fall on the quad in the short of the Salt Lake Olympics was a mistake, probably too much pressure, and he didnt know how to handle it... the thing is that he lost concentration and that's why he felt, not b/c of hypnotism...
I admire and cheer for Yagudin from my heart. It has been so obvious that 'Ps' have used language and mass media as both dodges and dishonest assaults on Yagudin. It is 'Ps' who have tried to rock Yagudin emotionally again and again. As a result, they should have known that their ugly assaults have not been working. If hypnotism should have such a godlike power, anyone could win the Olympic gold medal.
I can't believe that Plushenko still thinks it was the shrink that made him fall, wow...I am sure Mishin was all like "oh, nothing is ever your fault evie, let me wash your feet in medals"
Yes you are right about that plushy dressed up as a baby and danced to britney but this only shows how may faces he have!!!!He can be very sexy, artistic , funny or whatever we want!!!!I think they are the best skaters ever! And they are the best in their own way!!!You just cant say that he is nothing next to alexei because he is very talented skater too!!!
Why can't people just appreciate what they can do rather than just want to use their talent to beat others =/
I take media coverage with a pinch of salt because media manipulation is quite powerful and in this case they could easily make Plushenko and Yagudin seem like they hate each other.
Well, nevermind, ramble ramble xD. Good luck, Alexei on your comeback, and keep doing what you do best Evgeny ^^ .
If Plushenko believes so much, maybe he would like to borrow my lucky rabbit's foot. It wasn't lucky for the rabbit, but it might be lucky for him... ;p
Ahahaha!! Poor Zhenya!!! He'll never get over 2002. Yeah right, he was bewitched! As if this kind of thing doesn't happen to every skater. Sure, Superman can't fall, he's flying after all. I want to believe, too! Call Mulder to the rescue! LOL!!!
@evazone No link, i read in his biographia. I received the short version on e-mail. I read in this biographia, that Zhenya really thought, that the psychologist who helped prepare the Yagudint really mesmerized him. When Zhenya jumped the quad, for a moment he saw the psychologist. You know the sequel. After the race Evgeni's temperature was 40 degrees. He was in bed a few days, but he was not suffering from the flu ect. He had nervous exhaustion? This is very interesting.
@lala630312 Yeap, it's a very interesting way to put the blame on others. Very innovative indeed! He's human, more human than he should probably. He fell as it happens to everybody. As it could happen to a robot programmed only to jump bc guess what... Ice can be slippery... ;) No mambo jambo here. Just pure slippery surface... :)
@evazone@evazone I don't belive....Evgeni was ill, after Oly. This is fact. Evgeni said , he is don't concentrated enough, of course. But his Michael Jackson medley program was robotic.... This is the most stupid thing, what i heard in my whole life. who is Yag fan every time said Evgeni is not artistry. This is stupid thing or you are blind or they have never seen the Evgeni's programs. I think, you say : I like better Yagudin's style... but what you said is the stupid thing.LOL!!!
@evazone Yes, this is fact: Yagudin afraid Plushenko. Very interesting, he was injured after Oly...Hm. I think. he don't want to beat from the younger talent, Plushenko. Yagudin skating this time. He jump triplas ect. This isn't manly. Yes, Yag great great talent, but Plushenko is Genius, he is everything: jumper, entertainer, he is originally, funny, passionate, ballet dancer...And his personality is adorable!! And he is the most graceful man in the FS history( he is higher than Yag) Elegant!
@evazone Plushenko said:"i don't know if it's true or not but i belive in it" This is very important... Both skater was great, both skater could do everythings....That man won, who better believes in himself, and just watch to himself. In this thing helped Zagainov, but Zhenya was very young, and he believes in it. You don't be arrogant...
@lala630312 It's his right to believe in whatever he wants but it's also my right to judge him accordingly. I'm not arrogant, I just believe that the simplest explanation is usually the truth. I believe Zagainov worked on Lyosha's psychology which was obvious as by the 2002 Worlds you could see he was super confident.
Don't you think Plush is arrogant when he believes the only way he could have fallen is bc of some kind of hypnosis? And I return to my original comment. Is he Superman after all?
@evazone You don't want to understand Evgeni, and don't want to understand me. Yag was better in SLC, of course. The question : why Yag could win? Evgeni beat Lyosha in 2001. Zagainov helped to the 3 time world champion, this is not prohibited, of course. I recommend to you: watch?v=Avf_yujQY6Q&playnext_from=TL&videos=VC3SZyHyhdE
@lala630312 I understand you, I just don't agree with you, that's a different thing. I understand what Zhenya believes in, I just have a different opinion on the matter and believe that his beliefs are simple excuses. No, he's no Superman in FS. As I told you before he's much too human full of weaknesses, both on ice but above all as a person. Much too arrogant for my taste, avoiding responsibilities, always someone else is to blame(he did it again this year and back in 2002) and so on...
@evazone Do you live in USA? Evgeni never said, that he was better in 2002. And in this year? Do you like Evan? Ridiculous! So pitiful champion! And Evgeni was not alone with his opinion, many experts , skaters, coaches support him. Oly is over, but the result will be controversial forever. Finally : He isn't arrogant, i think, you don't know him. His personality is adorable, and he is ambassador of FS, he is everything in FS. You watch this:/watch?v=hhgCIV4PY8c as a movie star
From NY Times ( /2010/02/20/sports/olympics/20longman.html) : Lysacek received only a judges warning for a wrong-edged takeoff on his triple flip, not a 2- or 3-point deduction that would have changed the outcome, which was narrowly decided in his favor by 257.67 points to 256.36."
So how come people say Lysacek is technologically strong and deserve the gold medal? Apparently he didn't get the deduction he deserved for the 3F. Do you know this thing?
So, don’t get me wrong. I think Plush is an amazing skater and I enjoy watching him, but I still prefer Alexei. There is something about him, some passion that blows me away every time I watch him and I just can’t get enough.

It's sad we've lost so many icons throughout the past few years in this sport of ours. xxx

Shenja Plushenko is an ugly looser! If he believes that Yagudin has done any hypnosis to him, then he is an ugly STUPID looser!

Yagudin is just better than Plushenko. Can't P just get that through his mind and stop being a poor loser? Oie.......

Yagudin is the best skater that has ever lived. Plushenko is nothing next to him.
Figure skating is lost without Alexei.
I can't even bear to watch men's skating anymore...the only one is joubert..and he was trained by Yagudin...AND...hes a poor imitation.
YAGUDIN FOREVER.
By the way....plushenko is now dressing up as a baby and dancing to britney spears. If you don't believe me take a look at this:

Yes you are right about that plushy dressed up as a baby and danced to britney but this only shows how may faces he have!!!!He can be very sexy, artistic , funny or whatever we want!!!!I think they are the best skaters ever! And they are the best in their own way!!!You just cant say that he is nothing next to alexei because he is very talented skater too!!!

I Love them both.

No Magic, no witches or anything. Get over 2002, Plush!

LOL!!!

Lool completely agree with you!
antinea91 4 years ago 3
@evazone I understand you. Did you read the" Other Show" from Zhenya?
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 Nope. Do you have a link to that?
evazone 1 year ago
@evazone No link, i read in his biographia. I received the short version on e-mail. I read in this biographia, that Zhenya really thought, that the psychologist who helped prepare the Yagudint really mesmerized him. When Zhenya jumped the quad, for a moment he saw the psychologist. You know the sequel. After the race Evgeni's temperature was 40 degrees. He was in bed a few days, but he was not suffering from the flu ect. He had nervous exhaustion? This is very interesting.
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 Yeap, it's a very interesting way to put the blame on others. Very innovative indeed! He's human, more human than he should probably. He fell as it happens to everybody. As it could happen to a robot programmed only to jump bc guess what... Ice can be slippery... ;) No mambo jambo here. Just pure slippery surface... :)
evazone 1 year ago
@evazone @evazone I don't belive....Evgeni was ill, after Oly. I think, you say : I like better Yagudin's style... but what you said is the stupid thing.LOL!!!
lala630312 1 year ago
@evazone Yes, this is fact: Yagudin afraid Plushenko. Very interesting, he was injured after Oly...Hm. I think. he don't want to beat from the younger talent, Plushenko. Yagudin skating this time. He jump triplas ect. This isn't manly. Yes, Yag great great talent, but Plushenko is Genius, he is everything: jumper, entertainer, he is originally, funny, passionate, ballet dancer...And his personality is adorable!! And he is the most graceful man in the FS history( he is higher than Yag) Elegant!
lala630312 1 year ago
@evazone I'm sorry.. I want to write this: Yagudin don't want to be defeated from younger talent.... I mistake this two words.
lala630312 1 year ago
@evazone Plushenko said:"i don't know if it's true or not but i belive in it" This is very important... Both skater was great, both skater could do everythings....That man won, who better believes in himself, and just watch to himself. In this thing helped Zagainov, but Zhenya was very young, and he believes in it. You don't be arrogant...
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 It's his right to believe in whatever he wants but it's also my right to judge him accordingly. I'm not arrogant, I just believe that the simplest explanation is usually the truth. I believe Zagainov worked on Lyosha's psychology which was obvious as by the 2002 Worlds you could see he was super confident.
Don't you think Plush is arrogant when he believes the only way he could have fallen is bc of some kind of hypnosis? And I return to my original comment. Is he Superman after all?
evazone 1 year ago
@evazone You don't want to understand Evgeni, and don't want to understand me. Yag was better in SLC, of course. The question : why Yag could win? Evgeni beat Lyosha in 2001. Zagainov helped to the 3 time world champion, this is not prohibited, of course. I recommend to you: watch?v=Avf_yujQY6Q&playnext_from=TL&videos=VC3SZyHyhdE

( yes, Plushy is superman in FS)( soory, my english is poor)
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 I understand you, I just don't agree with you, that's a different thing. I understand what Zhenya believes in, I just have a different opinion on the matter and believe that his beliefs are simple excuses. No, he's no Superman in FS. As I told you before he's much too human full of weaknesses, both on ice but above all as a person. Much too arrogant for my taste, avoiding responsibilities, always someone else is to blame(he did it again this year and back in 2002) and so on...
evazone 1 year ago
@evazone Do you live in USA? Evgeni never said, that he was better in 2002. And in this year? Do you like Evan? Ridiculous! So pitiful champion! And Evgeni was not alone with his opinion, many experts , skaters, coaches support him. Oly is over, but the result will be controversial forever. Finally : He isn't arrogant, i think, you don't know him. His personality is adorable, and he is ambassador of FS, he is everything in FS. You watch this:/watch?v=hhgCIV4PY8c as a movie star

@evazone i forget this:

He is so full of himself to think that it could not have been his fault that he fell over!
